The first Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in 1993 and it made the Gracie family and Brazilian jiu-jitsu famous in the United States and many other locations. Since then, BJJ schools have spread and when you say 'jujutsu' many people think you mean BJJ specifically.
This book came out in 1990 and discusses jujutsu as it more traditionally was taught, primarily as a standing martial art that included strikes, joint locks, and throws (among other things). This book is not intended to cover every aspect of traditional jujutsu, but has enough examples to give you an idea of the big picture of what jujutsu is about.
Note that I believe (and follow) the meanings Goodreads gives for what each number of stars means. Therefore, the majority of my ratings are 3 stars ("liked it").
