A million things have been kept secret from me for as long as I can remember. And I’m sure there’s a million more.

However, for once in my life, some things are starting to make sense.

No matter what anyone else says, there’s a place for me. With Damen, Miles, Titus, and Julian, I finally belong. Finn might not be happy about it, but what I do is none of his business.

None of that might matter though. Not unless we finish this case. The more things come to light, the more tangled the web. In the end, I might be forced to make an impossible decision: justice or compassion.

Either choice will leave its mark on my soul.

This is the third in a multi-book slow burn reverse harem series. Be forewarned.

The Grimm Cases is a series that needs to be read in order, and this third book is another addictive addition to the series. Although I did not enjoy this one quite as much as I enjoyed book two, it is an important book in the series.

Blood answers many of the questions that have been building throughout the first two books, keeping the reader hooked as different aspects come together. In particular, this book brings the haunted house element of the series to a close. We get our answers to the haunting, we get to see how things play out, and these details do not go in the expected manner. With these details offering up surprises, fans of the series are guaranteed to be hooked throughout.

It’s not just answers to the haunting that this book provides. Blood introduces elements to the storyline that guarantees readers will be desperate to dive into the next book in the series. The cliff-hanger in particular has many questions floating in the mind and a desperate desire to see what comes next.

Without a doubt, fans of the series are sure to be hooked on Blood. Once again, I’m eager to see what happens next in the series.

The Feels!
The ending of this left me with emotions that made me frantic for more... but I’m gonna have to wait. There’s a bitter part of me that wanted to give this book only 4 measly stars because it left me hanging with tears in my eyes and a frantic heartbeat... but I couldn’t do it. I love this story too much not to give it my very best review.
Not only will I definitely be reading the next book, but I’ll probably be reading the entire series over again when it’s out.

Well I'm not sure I found this book boring but it seems like everyone else loves it. Bianca annoys me she's too weak and fragile and doesn't seem to gain strength from anyone or anything. The boys are up and down depending on what happens. Then right at the end you have her parents who are obliviously hiding something. The book seems to drag out to get one or two answers and your left with loads more.

When I saw this series, I couldn't know that I'd grow to love it this much. I just really liked the cover and the blurb caught my interest. And when the first two books in this series were also available for free I just had to give them a go. I now finished the third book and I can say that I honestly don't regret starting this series for a second.

More and more the mythology and world building is starting to make sense. Some things are repeated quite often, but where that normally bothers me I actually like it in this case. It helps to memorize things. The names, the bonds, the circle and who is responsible for who and in what way. It's complicated and the author really doesn't go easy on us, but it works.

Because that's also why it never feels like the author is lecturing us. The info dumps, who don't feel like that but just let us call them this, are spread out through the story and come at natural moments. Bianca is just as oblivious as we are and her asking for an explanation, which she sometimes gets and sometimes has to wait for until a calmer moment, is usually also serving the reader.

And despite all the info there's a lot of action and excitement in this book too. This book marks the end of the first big story arc and the story ends with a bang. The finale lasts incredibly long, is eventful, heartbreaking, action packed and tear jerking. And just when you think it's all over, the worst is still to come. It's an amazing rollercoaster and when I read the last page I could only scream for more. This cliffhanger is just brutal, okay?

Because over the last few books I've grown very attached to Bianca, her boys and the side characters. I'm feeling for her, I want her to be happy, I'm rooting for her. The author really takes her time to develop all the relationships and make them grow and therefore we also get the chance to get to know all the characters better and better. Which only makes us love them more and more.

And I can't wait to see much and much more of them! I've already bought the next book and I can't wait to read it! Next week has never looked so great!

More mystery

There are a few answers here, but just a few. More questions really, both from Bianca and me, as the confused yet intrigued reader! I still can’t quite decide if I even like Bianca, though she captivates me. Her brain just works unusually and the conclusions she comes to, or doesn’t, astounds me. She is growing on me though, and I have a feeling that has the picture of her life becomes clearer - I’ll love her.

But Finn? Seriously, what is the deal with him?

The volume I picked up says Part One. But I discovered that it's actually four books in one. My review applies to all four installments, since I read them as part of one book, and now I can't figure out what happened when.

I spent most of the (four) book(s) confused. I realize that this started off intentional, but then in later installments, the author wasn't paying attention to what characters were privy to what information. That was annoying.

This is not my kind of female lead. She's self-conscious and apologetic, nervous and overly naive. She's so naive, that it's not believable. I understand you were sheltered, and only had one friend. But am I expected to believe that the girl never watched TV or movies, or even paid attention that goings on around her at high school? Nope.

There's no romance in these stories, and everything takes FOREVER to happen because the main character has to be self conscious and apologize and misinterpret every interaction with every person before we can move on.

Minor grammatical errors (skipped words and such).

EPIC

This series is one of my all time faves. The world building is absolutely epic and I love that each book ends the next starts where it left off. A must read for all Rh fantasy lovers.

There's nothing to say other than this saga is excellent and the plot is so good and intriguing you can't help but devour the books in 5 seconds flat. If you can get the boxset, do yourself the favor and read it all.

For some reason when I started this series, I assumed it was completed -- just a trilogy. While I was loving everything I was reading, I was concerned it was going to end feeling unfinished and blah, blah, blah. Well color me surprised when I found out I must have been mixing up series, because this feels no where near to the end and I'M SO EXCITED. Now that I know it isn't going to have a quick slapped together ending it might actually be one of my favorite RH series.
I'm loving the slow burn to the romances. There are times I want to scream because she is kept in the dark, yet everything feels so smooth.
The ending of this book, KILLED ME. I'm dying for the next book.

Even more secrets are revealed to Bianca. But she has her guys to fall back on for help. Finally she feels like there are people who understand her, like a real family. A place where she belongs. Finn is not willing to let her go just yet. She is still trying to figure out why everything was kept from her, why all the secrets and lies all of these years? But finally she is able to help someone, even if it is a ghost. She has the power to help and she wants to start learning how to pull her own weight with the group. Add in that she is growing more and more attached to Miles, Damen, Julian and Titus, as they are to her. But they are learning that she is more important to their group than just attraction.

I have absolutely been captivated by Bianca and her guys. She was such a shy girl in the beginning and I have enjoyed watching her grow. She was purposely lied to and kept isolated. She was so innocent and not knowing of so much. Her reactions to things and her reasoning had me rolling with laughter many times. You have to keep in mind that she was isolated and everything she learned controlled. Seeing her discover things, sayings, reactions, relationships and what it is like to truly belong. The guys will steal your heart. Each one is different in their own ways, not to mention different rolls in their group. The supernatural aspect of the plot and the characters is addicting. Lyla does an excellent job of creating a different take on the supernatural, that I find refreshing. This series is well written, with memorable characters and I cannot wait to see what happens next.

Bianca is such a terrific, witty, quirky, slightly crazy character, and I love reading her thought processes. In this book, Bianca and the guys are trying to figure out the ghost situation at the house. I liked seeing their relationships continue to develop and also loved the dynamics with Bryce, Branden, and Xavier. The ending though - talk about suspense and a cliff hanger! Book 4 can’t get here soon enough :)

This story follows along Bianca Brosnan as she discovers that the house she’s watching for her professor is haunted and decides to do something about it. Especially when the haunting turns dangerous and Bianca starts getting hurt. When going to her best friend doesn’t work, she reaches out the the only person she think might actually believe her – even if she’s never met him before in her life. Desperate times call for desperate measures, right?

Bianca is a unique character to be in the head of. She’s quirky in a cute way and comes up with some of the wildest stories and assumptions about people that I’ve ever read. Put that together with her sheltered upbringing and subsequent naivety, and her thoughts can be downright unpredictable at times.

Being someone that suffers quite heavily from second hand embarrassment, I must admit that there’s a lot of that follow Bianca around. She can’t help it – not only is her brain a strange and wonderful place, but she has almost no filter between her thoughts and her words. It makes for one hell of a ride, that’s for sure.

But of course, the paranormal world around her more than makes up for the second hand embarrassment you might get. I always love seeing how different authors create their world and characters and Oweds does not disappoint. While there are some basic similarities that many paranormal stories have – like ghosts and poltergeists – this is a fantastic new (to me) take on what the paranormal world can look like. I enjoyed every little bit of information that I was able to soak up about the world and its inhabitants.

If you’re looking for a straight up ghost hunting story, then this isn’t the story you’re looking for. However. This story focuses on a group of friends and their abilities in a truly interesting way. It showcases how they help strengthen each other both emotionally and through their powers. This group of friends truly is the center point and highlight of this story.

I recommend this read for someone who’s interested in a good time, filled with paranormal mystery and intrigue. Bianca and her friends have a lot to overcome – whether you’re looking at Bianca’s haunting or the paranormal world as a whole. It’s fascinating to watch this story unfold.

Damn, that ending though.

So, like I said in the review for book two, I am peeved we still know very very little on Bianca’s past. Sure, we can *somewhat* *kinda-sorta* see where the trauma comes from, we don’t actually know so it’s all guess work.

There aren’t as many POV’s from the guys in this book, which I’m somewhat disappointed in. I’m only okay with it because the plot got much better here and there was some character development from side characters we were supposed to not like originally. Like Finn and Bryce. Still conflicted about Finn but also like I’m sure the dude has his reasons for lying to Bianca since he obviously cares for her. RIP sad boi. But then I remember how much of an abusive asshole he was and then shrug off. I’m sure the author is aiming at some sort of repaired relationship between the two, but definitely don’t see them ever being romantically involved.

The guys are pretty good characters and I enjoy learning more about them. They are very quickly falling in love with Bianca and don’t really know how to have an actual relationship with her since they can’t date ever. So that’s still a problem they have to face along with Bianca not being ready for any kind of physical relationship, despite the attraction and trust she feels for her guys.

The world building has gotten more interesting and dynamic, which is something I wasn’t expecting, and really enjoy it. The powers, the way they are described in their history, and the flow of each are unique to this series from any I have seen.

There are still some problems that I overlook to enjoy this series, like how fast everything is paced, Bianca’s Mary-Sue-ness, and some info-dumping along with (admittedly less) Bianca’s insane assumptions, but yeah I’ve decided I’m here for the long haul.

Saw that the fourth book ends on a WTF cliffhanger so I’ll be waiting until the fifth book comes out so I don’t have to suffer through that. I swear to god if we don’t find out about Bianca’s past in the fourth book, I’m going to lose my shit.

So Exciting

I am loving this series. That ending, though! I need book four asap. Mostly because so much happened here and was revealed that I know I'll forget something during the wait. I had forgotten quite a few things between book two and this one being released. I'll probably need to do a series re-read before book four, which makes it great that a bundle for the first part of the series will be out next month.

I still love Bianca and her off the wall way of thinking. I love all of her guys, but Titus is my favorite. I was really happy to finally be introduced to Brayden and see Bryce more involved in things. I liked seeing Anthony interacting with Finn as well. Finn has a lot of explaining to do. He truly believes he is protecting Bianca, but his methods don't seem to be working. Then there's Dr. Reed who I'm pretty sure is Julian's mother and Bianca's adoptive parents that I don't trust at all.

I hope the romance moves forward a bit more soon. I understand why it hasn't so far considering Bianca's history. At least she knows she's attracted to all of the guys even if she isn't ready for more. They are all pretty much in love, though.

The conclusion of the haunting case was definitely interesting and it tied in well with the climax of this book. The book's ending has me feeling crazy, though! I just did not see that coming at all. I can't wait for the guys to react. Someone is going to get hurt. The most surprising part, though, was Mu taking over. I really want to see if now Bianca will start having memories of the past.

Luka has me completely hooked.

I read the first four books in the series. I think that the books in this series are difficult to review individually because it is one continuous story. Each subsequent book picks up exactly where the last ends. In retrospect, I could of (and probably should have) just written a single review to cover the whole series (or what I've read of it). But I didn't realize that would be better until I was a couple books in and I felt like I'd already committed myself to the idea of individual reviews and I decided to stick with the plan. Plus, in retrospect, I kind of like how you can feel my frustration grow and attitude change from book to book.

As I said before, I'm still generally enjoying my time with these characters. But I am also realizing that this isn't a series with any intention of wrapping up any time soon. Each book is just part of a continuing story and ends when the author decided to break between books. The next book then picks up immediate. Which is fine in one sense. But, in another, I feel like I've now read 3 books with no pay-off (i.e. a conclusion of any sort). I didn't intend to commit to 7+ book when I started the first book (and that assumes the 7th book is the last, instead of just as far as the author's gotten at the moment). All of this means that I'm also starting to get frustrated and some of the luster is wearing off. I know the author says it's a slow burn. But I didn't realize that refers to the whole plot, not just the romance.

I don't have a lot more to add to previous reviews. There's not really been enough plot progression to comment on.

Hmmmmm.

I liked how this had more action, liked how Bianca essentially saved herself&was a BAD *** B**** at every turn

But here we go again with the unnecessary cliffhanger 😐

JFC!

I did however, really enjoy that the cliffhanger took place after a major conflict was resolved (a conflict that covered 3 books, that should've been just 1 big book LBR)...shows that some progress has finally been made.

A minor problem I have (&the reason I had way less fun being in this world, this time around) has been getting louder though with each book I read, in that characters go off on tangents either in their dialogue or in their actions which is starting to grate on my nerves more&more.

I didn't mind it when it happened in books 1-2 because I didn't realize it would be an ongoing thing- but this is book 3 for God's sake, it's starting to really test my patience.

It honestly feels like a 3 star read, that's how much of a fun sponge the tangent-spree was.

But it feels too good to have finally found an RH series where the romance is slow building, where none of the guys are POS/no guy has done anything unforgivable or something they can't come back from, where the story isn't jumping from 1 outlandish sex scene to the next....so screw it-

I'll allow it a 4 star today&not feel the least bit bad about it.

I was very disappointed in this book. The first two were amazing and this one I had to force myself to finish over 3 days, when normally it takes me hours. Absolutely nothing of note happened in this book (no real plot development, character development, or relationship development) until the very end, only to end on a massive cliff hanger. I have zero problem with cliff hangers, unless they are the only interesting part of a book, as was the case here. This book contained none of my favorite elements from the first, namely Bianca speaking her mind causing laugh out loud moments at her naivety. For absolutely no discernible reason, she silenced herself this book, making her appear weak and boring, whereas in the previous 2 books she was a unique and vivacious character. On top of that, this book was absolutely riddled with errors which took me out of the story. For the love of god, please learn the difference between your and you’re. I really wish I had constructive criticism for this book, but it seemed to be written by a total different author. I adored the first two books and this one seemed to take several steps backwards.

This last month I was really on a paranormal & shifter RH romance kick - I read a LOT of paranormal earlier in the year and needed a break from it, and was ready to dive back in this month.
That being said, because so many of these books use similar tropes, plot devices, and mythical creatures, it becomes easy to see which books come out on top.

This series seemed like it would have some laughs for me and definitely seemed original in a multitude of ways.
However, this is an example of one of those series where I don't think the story is THAT good or interesting that it needs as many books as it already has, let alone the additional books that will be released here. I notice this is a pattern with some of these paranormal books, where they just keep going and going and releasing books without giving you a strong exposition. It's just not for me and I'm obviously not a fan. I made it through book four of this series and then just found myself tired of reading about these characters without moving forward significantly in the overall story. I hate feeling stagnant in a series; hard to keep interested for a long period of time.

It's okay. 3/5 stars but not my fav.

Confused but likeable

This story is really confusing at times. I don't really understand the whole hierarchy even 3 books in.... They also do not give Bianca information very often so you are aware confused as her. I do enjoy the story and Bianca cracks me up. She is quite funny in her thinking. I like the multiple Pov and seeing the guys side of things. I felt a lot of fear for her at the end. The ghost mystery was resolved but more questions about Bianca remain. I hope more answers are given in the next book.

Woah.

I’m seriously reaching for anything more than “woah” at that ending! Woah. Just echoing around in my head on repeat. Woah. This whole book was a roller coaster. I’m still not sure whether Finn is a toad or if he’s just misunderstood, we learn more about some supporting characters and the guys and their relationship with Bianca, and the current investigation just about wraps up. And then all heck breaks loose just in time for the ending. Woah. Absolutely a must read series and this installment is no exception. Lyla has outdone herself again.

Satisfying...cliffhanger not counting but now you can go to book 4 so no longer cliffhanger anyways gives you what you want while still brining more mystery and questions but answers others as address relationships not frustrating like some can be right balance of giving you what you want and still sucking you in with more world building characters building relationships building love characters chemistry and
Interactions over all satisfying

So so disappointed.
Absolutely nothing happens in this book. Hoping the FMC finally starts to toughen up but nope. No character development, nothing actually happens in the storyline just the same old same old. It was painfully boring, honestly not sure why it has such rave reviews had to force myself to finish. Don't think she'll ever be tough as Sherwood weak. Don't particularly care about her boys anymore either, again no character development just 200+ pages of nothong. A waste of my time I'll never get back.

If you like weak characters you'll love this book.
If not, avoid.

Blood

The revelations and questions in this series constantly keep me on the edge of my seat and begging for more. There is still so much to learn about Bianca, the Xing, a prophecy that keeps getting mentioned and so much more. Oweds knows how to hook you into the story, even while frustrating you with a lack of answers to so much happening. I’ll be anxiously awaiting the next book.

This sis such a good series and this is the best book yet ! Loved how biancas relationships developed more with the boys in this series ! They used more of their powers and we learnt more about their society ! The ending is such a cliff hanger but from the next books title it seems like she’s gonna be a away from the guys for awhile I just hope it isn’t for too long !

Well... i devoured this series in a day and a half... and while I sit here frantically searching for the next release, I can't help but be happy I stumbled across this series and finally took it out of my TBR pile. I really have enjoyed this slow burn RH series. I like how the story line is bigger than the romance and that each little piece of the story unravels to bring you further in to the conspiracy behind Bianca.

Thank God for that. A haunted house plot being turned into a three book plot? No. I’m just happy to get the resolution of the plot, and this one was actually a bit more action packed. I think they could have cut so many scenes and turn this into a two book plot. I’m not particularly invested in the romance either, which feels like a ridiculous thing to say for a RH romance. Was I curious about where the cliffhanger would take the series? Yes, but not enough to stay in the slow burn

What?!

I enjoyed seeing Bianca open up more and really talk to the guys about her discomforts. Seeing them all evolve together has been very enlightening but also asks about a hundred other questions.

That ending??!! My heart was racing the entire time. Not so patiently waiting for the next book!
