Making out in stairwells has never been this hot. Las Vegas was just the beginning. After their sinful Easter weekend, Natalie and Steve must learn to work together.

Natalie How can I choose my battles when I am up against a rebellious inner teenager? And have I mentioned I’m waging a war against a persistent attraction to Mr. Stephen Clark? The way my breathing hitches means the painkillers are kicking in. It is not like I need Steve around or anything. I am just being practical. Getting rid of my tight skirt while battling drowsiness from the meds could cause further damage to my ankle. What if I stumble and fall? No. Holding on to Steve’s brawny upper arms while he strips off my clothes makes perfect sense. Right?

Steve Warring with my body’s reaction to Nat’s proximity is taking a toll on me. Who knew haggling over rates, fees, and deadlines could be this sexy? Now, I’m caught up in this tight spot: prancing around hotels in New York with Natalie Todeschini by my side, while holding a briefcase as a shield to avoid public embarrassment. But, when she needs a helping hand, I’m right there by her side, inching her skirt down her wide hips and shapely legs, supporting her staggering steps as she stumbles toward the hotel bed. I’ll just sit on the chair and watch over her until she falls asleep. I want to make sure she won’t hurt herself. I can do this. Right?

Download today the second installment in this delicious new series to find out if Natalie and Steve get a truce.

This serial series starts with Easter Cookie (which is currently free)
Where we meet Natalie and Stephen.
Both are successful
They have the same careers
They have the same drive
They share a history
They share a little something extra
They are competitors in and out of the boardroom

Each release so far has been about 50 pages and despite each release being so short -
I was engaged in the story line.
I felt a connection to the characters.
I wanted more.

Natalie is wary of any form of commitment. Having been burned by her bestie and the boy she thought was her boyfriend in high school she has become a bit of a commitment-phobe when it comes to long term commitments. Frenemies with benefits though is a definite okay in her book. Her character is spunky and takes no prisoners. She is a bit clumsy but not in her ever-present stilettos.
Every woman needs her armor.

Stephen is laid back. I liked how he admitted the woman had him in knots every time she was within breathing distance. He is patient and knows his persistence will pay off. Or he hopes it does.

Easy to follow story line with solid characters that will engage and delight.

The series continues with another installment of Natalie and Steve’s life. Natalie just can’t seem to get over what Steve did to her at prom. But that doesn’t stop the two from hooking up. It is so sad to see how much the two really like each other, but can’t seem to do anything about it. Information comes into play that may help Natalie. Then something shocking happens that we will have to see what happens in the next installment. I encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of this book.

Comedy, Hot Romance, 4 installment story

I gave this book a 4 stars.
I am going to rate this book as a whole since I have read 3 out of the 4 installments the last part is releasing in November 2020.
This is 2nd book in a 4 installment story. They are short books, that end on a cliffhanger, you have to read all of them in order to understand the story. This is my first book I read by Liz Gavin and I did enjoy them.
Steve and Natalie were friends back in high school and they liked each other. He was the shyer nerd type and she was popular cool girl. They always hung out together, bestfriends, they were 3 of them Bella was her best friend until senior promo happened- it all changed that night!
Secrets, misunderstandings, misinterpretation, betrayal, broken hearts. The next installments will take us through their rollercoaster of a relationship, rebuild trust , company's they've built, friendships, rivalries in same industries, ex's return, their chemistry is undeniable steamy HOT sex they just can't fight it.. They have both matured into strong alpha, fiesty firecracker, independent people that know what they want, and will fight for it. This is also a comedy romance. Some funny scenes...LOL.
I did enjoy the story as overall ( except of course the ending n/a yet) I'm just not a huge fan of installment storytelling. I wish this was just one bigger novel.

This story is from the ever talented author, Liz Gavin ,,,,

This book is #2 in the "A Year in Love" series that Ms Gavin is writing ,,,

1 ,,,,, Easter Cookie: ,,,,, A Frenemies to Lovers Romantic Comedy (A Year in Love, Book 1)
2 ,,,,, Cookie Wars:
3 ,,,,, Firecracker Cookie: (I have not yet reviewed)
4 ,,,,, Thankful Cookie: (not yet published ,,,, November 2020)

This is the next "chapter" in the lives of Stephen Clark and Natalie Todeschini ,,,,

You REALLY must read book #1 before this, which left off in a cliffhanger ,,,,

This book follows a few short reads all together ,,,, Steve and Nat who are very into each other but things happened back when and now they are still waiting for things to be clarified, but before that happens, they still are in the "Friends with Benefits" stage, which I'm sure they would like to transform into a relationship but there is a friend's misunderstanding keeping everyone in a holding pattern of sorts ,,,,,

I know it doesnt sound like much, but, you really must read Book #1 before anything else makes alot if sense ,,,,, Liz Gavin is a great artist with words and this book is no different ,,,,, it is a short, but good read,,,,

I would so totally recommend this series to everyone,,,,,

I have gotten this ARC voluntarily to leave an honest review,,,,,

i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second installment of the story between Natalie and Stephen. They were high school sweethearts until Stephen stood her up at prom and she couldn't forgive him. They had reunited at a trade show for their event planning businesses and they had a connection, but Natalie couldn't trust Stephen and only wanted to keep things casual. Stephen wanted more, but Natalie wanted answers as to why he treated her the way he did in high school. I like this story so far. I think Stephen was a good guy and he wanted to be with Natalie, but he also wanted to keep his friend's secret. natalie had to try and get over things and see if she could forgive him. I can't wait for the next book.

Cookie War’s by Liz Gavin is the second novella in the Year in Love series. In this novellas installment two high school sweethearts reconnect after many years apart. This novella is a sweet, sensual, and whimsical tale of how some people only need a second chance to get their romance back. I loved the characters and story in this novella but it did not have a happy ever after ending because it leaves off with a promise of more in future installments. This reason I gave this 4 instead of 5 stars is even though I really enjoyed this tale I think it is not complete. I would prefer to read the entire story in one book rather than in a series of pieces. Cookie War’s is a funny, sweet, and romantic read, but no HEA!

This is book 2 and the continuation of Natalie’s and Steve’s story but you do need to read book 1 and lucky for you it’s free right now. It starts off with Natalie and Steve are supposed to go to the prom together but Steve turns up with Bella and it breaks Natalie’s heart. Years later they both have event planning businesses and they often bid against the other they have the friends with benefits relationship but it’s not so much of the friends part but Natalie wants answers about prom but Steve won’t tell her it’s up to Bella. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

This is the second book in the "A Year in Love" series and another quick, easy read where we have a continuation of the lives of Stephen and Natalie. It starts right where book one left off. Unfortunately, a friend's secret and one of Stephen's ex's continue to cause chaos and both are too stubborn to let a full relationship develop. You won't want to miss how book plays out but keep in mind it leaves us with a cliffhanger. I received a copy of this ARC via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Natalie gets a little perspective on her current situation with Steve and their past. Now she has to decide if she can let go of the pain, forgive and move forward or let it keep her from the one person she’s loved since high school.
Right as I was starting to get into the story it ended. Hahaha
Sometimes I find it hard to rate short stories. This is one that I struggled with.
I like the characters and the storyline is good but I feel like I would like it so much more if the novelettes were combined to make a few bigger books. (3.5⭐️)

A wonderful short continuation of the life story of Natalie and Steve. It is well written and enjoyable romance of friends with benefits relationship because of an old misunderstanding and drama. I am on the edge of my seat with the passion and humor around these two as issues and chaos continue to keep things unsettled as you are left on another cliffhanger hoping for a HEA. I voluntarily reviewed this ARC.

Natalie and Steve’s crooked path to happiness continues in this book. It picks up the story very shortly after the first left off, and once again we’re off and running. We discover many of the details of what’s been keeping this pair frenemies. And just when we start to think there might be smooth sailing for a while, chaos erupts again. I am definitely hooked on seeing where their twisted path is going to take us next.

Frenemies can be frustrating. Stephen and Natalie should be together but the past is still keeping them apart. Just when you think everything is going to go their way, more trouble starts. Now I have to wait (impatiently) for the next book to find out what happens. An interesting storyline makes this a great book.

I read Easter Cookie, free as of 06/02/2019, before reading Cookie Wars. It adds to the establishment of Nat and Steve’s situation. Cookie Wars is an entertaining and funny story. It has very steamy sex encounters. It also explained how Nat and Steve broke up. Unfortunately, I don’t think they are settled as a new character was introduced. Cookie Wars is book two of A Year In Love series and continues where book one left off. The story flowed smoothly and is a fun quick novella about business competitors who become much more to each other. I love how they can't get over past hurts but it doesn't stop them from wanting to be together. Great writing, fun, believable characters and an entertaining read. Overall a well written romance, good characters and chemistry. Ends in a cliffhanger...this means war - kinda thing. I love how Gavin understands that answers to past hurts don't diminish the hurt but can allow healing and forgiveness. We'll see what happens next for this duo (soon I hope)

Natalie and Steve have a problem with a secret from the past.
I understand not wanting to adres the issue because their relationship is casual and they have to meet often. Why complicate things? It takes a blind date to change Nat’s mind about everything. I thought it was quite funny.
After the new insight she confronts Steve and things have to heat up or burn out fast.
The secret was not predictable and gave the story some mystery.
