I write not only for my own pleasure, but for the pleasure of my readers. I can’t remember a time in my life when I haven’t written and told stories. When I’m not writing, I’m dreaming about writing, doing something wild and adventurous, or trying to make the world a better and more open minded place to live in. I adore beautiful men, and I know I’m not alone in this! Eroticism between consenting adults, in all its many forms is the icing on the cake of life!

I loved this second "Melting Ice" book as much as the first, if for different reasons. There is no mystery about what is going on in this book: Thomas, the FBI agent, has to keep Mario, the biker/mobster turned witness alive until the trial. Most of the tension comes from the characters in this story, and I think that DJ has succeeded in doing that really well.

Thomas struggles with his sexuality, as well as his need to succeed in a career against the backdrop of an ex-Army father who would disown Thomas if he found out that he was gay, and isn't too enthusiastic about his career choice either. Even though Thomas is in his mid-twenties, this reads a lot like a coming of age story, since Thomas has to learn to be his own person, and to admit his feelings for Mario. I really felt for him.

Mario has issues of his own, having been "a biker's pet" at age 14. His struggle to be seen as a man who wants a loving relationship was just as heartbreaking as Thomas's struggle for freedom from preconceived ideas. No wonder it takes them a long time to come to terms with who they are and what they want.

I loved the way this story showed how love can help to overcome seemingly insurmountable internal and external obstacles.

Pretty good book as usual, but I didn't like the ending!
I always hate the whole trope 'and they had parted ways, then some years passed and they met again and all is well'. It's too sad to be a satisfying happy ending for me, because I can't help, but be sad about all that years wasted.

I think what I like from (most) of D.J. Manly's stories is his/her characters are usually adorable. Also, I am also glad that I don't remember anything about the first book so I don't have to compare it. I enjoy this one because I think the sensual attraction between the two guys are so thick -- and often I find my self fanning and wish they just start kissing already *grin*. Lovely ending too.

Although the name Petrie? Like a "petrie" dish? Not so much a favorite *grinn

Thomas is assigned to guard Mario until he can testify. While alone, Mario manages to seduce Thomas. Mario falls in love with Thomas. Thomas is in denial. Thomas gets Mario safely to the trial with a side rescue mission tossed in. Mario testifies and goes into witness protection. Five years later, Mario goes to Thomas and Thomas freely admits he fell for Mario too.

I've not read the third book in this series yet, but I just finished reading the first, and the first two books seem to have a definite pattern to them. I'm curious to see if the 3rd is the same and I'm getting ready to start it soon. There is a very deeply "virgin" closeted cop who gets mixed up with a "bad boy biker" who drags him out of the closet and helps him to see what he's been missing... and never ever want to go back into the closet.

Patterns aside, this was a great story. There was a lot more action in this one than the first. Mario de Luca has been in a biker gang since he was 14 and is now needing protection while he is awaiting trial as a witness against a major mafia boss. F.B.I agent Thomas Petrie is disappointed to have to babysit for his first assignment and frustrated when the very hot Mario keeps coming on to him. Thomas has had a lot of practice building walls and barriers and denying himself what he wants but Mario's charms and sexy looks turn out to be much stronger than Thomas' defenses. I did like the bickering and back-and-forth between the two, as it helped to add an edge to their relationship. They may have gone for each other's throats but you could tell what they really wanted to go for. There is a lot of action... they aren't locked away in hiding. And they are very hot together. It's a bit sad how they initially end things but we ultimately get a very sweet happily ever after. I'm looking forward to the 3rd book. It would be nice though to see previous characters, but I guess DJ isn't trying to make this an inter-connected series.

Bought this book years ago, back when fictionwise was still around. I don't know why I never read it. I enjoyed the first book in the series. This second one is scrumptious with bad boys and by the rule boys. Mario De Luca is sex on a stick and he is willing to turn evidence in to put a bad mobster away. Placed in a safe house in a decrepit cabin in the woods, in the middle of no where could be bad. But when paired up with sexy and newbie G-man Thomas Petrie, life gets interesting.

Reality suspended, this book is manlove heaven. It is a cock tease of two boys who circle each other like cats in heat. I loved how Thomas tries so hard to resist Mario. Author Manly does an excellent job of showing how much each character yearns to bone the other. I can feel it; taste it; smell it. This short story quickly moves through to an explosive ending. It seems to be a happily for now, but ends with a follow up years later that warms my cockles. Love it. Recommended to m/m readers who enjoy suspense with a bad boy turned good.

Melting Ice and Melting Ice 2 are so-so unrelated m/m romantic suspenses about deeply closeted law enforcement agents who "thaw" under the attention of the wrong guys. By the end of each book, I wanted to slap characters.

I really did like this one, although not as much as the first Melting Ice. The sex was super HOT! The story and plot was believable but the ending was a big surprise, I really am a sucker for HEA.

A fun book. Hot sex and entertaining characters. A little predictable but still kept me engaged.

I was disappointed that this story had nothing to do with the first book in the series. I saw no tie-in at all. The only common theme was they both had someone on some type of police force.

Similar premise to the first one and even better. Far more action. Thomas and Marion are adorable so macho. I love the way they keep butting heads and their in ability to communicate. Fab

Book two was not quite as smooth as book one and required me to suspend belief a time or two. Just the same, I enjoyed the story.
