A near-death experience leaves Wendy Sherman noticeably changed. She had always been very straitlaced, but now she thinks nothing of discussing sex in an open and free manner. Things go from bad to worse when she tries to lure her brother-in-law into bed. Is it possible that in the few moments she was near death, her soul left her body and someone else quietly slipped in? Does some sex-crazed deviant from the dark and distant past, someone who wants to use her body for his own lascivious pleasures, now possess her?
First of all , let me start off by saying that I'm not a prude. I can and do appreciate well written erotica although its something I only read on occasion as its not one of the main genres I enjoy spending my reading time on. However, this book can not be classified as erotica. Its straight out pornography and pornography of the crudest and most graphic kind. The plot is that a beautiful young woman named Wendy has a minor operation during which something goes wrong and she dies for a few moments. Upon her return home, she finds herself to be utterly obsessed with sex and obtaining as much of it as possible with as many people as she can. Her devoted but rather staid husband( with whom her sex life was infrequent and very basic before by her own choosing) soon becomes of no consequence of her. In fact she soon actively turns against him.She then goes on to have sex with her brother in law, 2 sister in laws, her next door neighbor and his teenaged friend, 2 random teenage boys and a teenage girl in an abandoned apple orchard, 2 priests in a church, 2 random men in a park, a whole succession of men in the church basement and her young male gardener basement all in a matter of around 2 weeks time. The driving force behind all this is that during the few minutes she was out of her body she was possessed by an evil male spirit who was "a servant of Satan". He is on a quest to forever possess her so he can enjoy and experience the carnal pleasures of the flesh to the full again.Wendy denies and dismisses this until the end of the book when she comes to accept this as a reality. However by that time she is too addicted by her sexual cravings to stop and it becomes her downfall. I really only bought this book because I thought the paranormal aspect of it would be interesting, but I got a lot more than I had bargained for.I found it pretty disgusting. The sex acts in this book are of course plentiful and take place every few pages but they are written in nauseatingly graphic and crude detail. The fact that I find some of these acts to be cringe worthy in real life didn't help. The worst part is that in the last of the book, it got very blasphemous and that personally offended me.So much so that I destroyed the book. If you enjoy reading this sort of thing, then alright. I know there is a definite market for it. However, I wrote this review to warn people who might pick this up thinking its just simple erotica, therefore getting an unpleasant surprise as I did.
