Sky Jackson is a consultant for the police. He helps them locate missing persons and track down serial killers. He sees things that other people don't, gets impressions through objects. The only thing that Sky didnt see however was Rafe Ferguson, the lead detective on the case. When he sees Rafe again for the first time in almost eleven years, he is in shock. This is the guy who took his virginity in high school, the gorgeous Rafe Ferguson who not only doesnt believe in psychics, but acts as if he never saw him before in his life. Sky is hurt and angry, but he doesnt have a hell of a lot of time to dwell on it. Theres a serial killer on the loose in the gay village, and hes already killed five men. Worse, every time Sky has a vision, its not of the serial killer, its of Rafe Ferguson.
I write not only for my own pleasure, but for the pleasure of my readers. I can’t remember a time in my life when I haven’t written and told stories. When I’m not writing, I’m dreaming about writing, doing something wild and adventurous, or trying to make the world a better and more open minded place to live in. I adore beautiful men, and I know I’m not alone in this! Eroticism between consenting adults, in all its many forms is the icing on the cake of life!
Sky has been in love with Rafe since he was in high school. Rafe took his virginity in the back seat of his car...
10 years later, Sky is working as a consultant for the SFPD when he sees Rafe. Rafe is the head detective working a serial killer case. The two of them have to work together to solve the mystery of who the killer is.
This book was different. It went from Sky, to Rafe to The serial Killers perspectives back and forth...
Sky was super obsessed with Rafe.. even though Rafe acted like he didnt even remember him from high school. The sex was okay, not scorching. I couldnt stand hearing the story from Trevor "the serial killers" perspective because he was also ridiculously obsessed with Rafe. Rafe wasnt even that great of a guy.
Rafe and Sky were at high school together and Sky had a crush for the handsome quarterback. And one night he managed to be alone with him and they had sex, fast and rough, cause they are too young to do better. It was the first sex experience for Sky. But after that Rafe ignored Sky and few days after he left New York and Sky never see him again until now, twelve years later.
Rafe is a detective and he is investigating in a series of kills on the San Francisco gay community. Sky is a psychic consultant for the police and he is asked to help Rafe. And apparently Rafe doesn't recognize him.
Rafe is a very macho man, rough and tought. He is a dom and he is very confident of himself. Sky is somehow shy and still tortured by his young feelings for Rafe. But he is not the classic psychic character, he is more stable and secure, he manage well his power.
The story is not really a mystery, cause the killer till the beginning of the story show uo himself, so no clues to collect to discover him. It's more a love story, where two persons have to rebuilt their bound after many years of separation.

2.5 stars An average M/M romance between a psychic investigator who is called in to assist the police on a stalled case, and the sceptic lead detective of that case. Coincidentally, upon meeting, they discover that they had known each other in their past: they had had a one-night (f**k) stand just before graduating from school 11 years earlier, and before going their separate ways.
This story is predictable basically from start to finish. The psychic, the cop, the villain, the straight best friend, even the cop's Captain were quintessential stereotypes of these roles. The outcome was a given too, while the problems they encountered seemed quickly and easily surmounted, so that the angst level never actually registered. While nothing was glaringly wrong with this story, there is not much in way of originality either. Unfortunately, this novel is an example of why I prefer longer novels, as one could argue that the lack of pages doesn't allow for greater characterization and depth of plot... But it's not an argument I believe.
I liked this, but it was just okay. I guess I didn't like hearing the POV from the killer. I mean, we know who he is. I like guessing who it is. It adds to the suspense, I guess, for me.
I liked Sky, but I would have liked more of his gift used.
The ending was abrupt.
Overall, I thought it was okay, but I was kind of hoping for more of a guessing game.
I think this could've been a really good story if some issues were changed or modified a bit. For one thing the idea that the detective, the psychic consultant, and the serial killer all knew each other and went to high school together, plus had crushes on each other was just too much to be realistic at all. Also, the way the past events between Sky and Rafe were "settled" bothered me a lot.
I think this story had really great potential but some of the main points seemed to be handled oddly or in a rush which impacted my liking of the story greatly.
What is it with EVERYTHING I’ve been reading lately having shifting POV? Graaah. This is SUPPOSED to be a mystery mixed with m/m romance… at least, that‘s what I thought I was getting from the summary. In reality… not so much with the mystery. I mean, the killer gets sections from his own POV, for god sakes. You KNOW whodunnit from chapter 2 or so, and that pretty much wrecks it for me. Psychologically, though, this was interesting from the killer‘s POV, so it wasn‘t a total loss.
This is another "high school friends spent a wild night and then never talked again" story. Half of the book is spent on the villain point of view, and it just doesn't work for me. It took away the aura of the mystery, and made me skipped those pages. I'd prefer to know what's in Rafe mind instead of knowing what the bad guy is doing, and more on the romance between the main characters.
2.5 stars Well, it's, ooookay, I guess. I like the idea of a psychic helping police officers, but I also feel that the story lacks of plot building. Everything seems to be rushed ahead. I can't really "savor" the moment, you know?
Absolutely loved this book.. It was right up my street. Sky is a police consultant brought in to help with the disappearance of five gay men in San Francisco. The book is fast paced and the characters jump of the page.
This book had everything lust, love, sexual tension, good story and believable characters who you cared about apart from phsyco guy he was way way creepy and distrubing.
An interesting and compelling book. Almost predictable but not quite. A little more creepy than most romance, which is what makes it stand out and puts it onto my to-be-re-read list.
I really enjoyed this book. Just the right amount of paranormal stuff mixed with just the right amount of love. It would be interesting if there was a second book following these same characters.
