Being one of the authors of this book makes it somewhat difficult to review objectively! As I continue in my efforts to read each and every book devoted to the documentation of quilts in 40+ states published to date, I am able to observe differences in the documentation methods, the style and range of quilts included and the approach chosen to tell the related stories. The Minnesota book, though not among the most scholarly publications, does a thorough job of living up to it's title. Chapters written by eight different authors illuminate for the reader how these common textiles are connected to our state history as well as economics, fads, family, community and traditions. I did note more than the typical number of typos and feel the editing could have been more concise.
