Someone says, life is just like a game. What would you do if you are in this game? Especially with a very bad beginning? Ye Xuan, a young man, unfortunately transmigrates to a mysterious, old, East fantasy world and loses all the precious things – fame, position, family, wealth, betrothed wife and even nearly lost life, confronts with this hard problem.

Fortunately, although Ye Xuan is a normal guy before transmigration, he never gives up himself. Bearing ridicule around him, even from family servants and intended wife, he tries best to solve the problems. And finally, he successful gets the phagocytosis system!! Start a new journey in this fantasy world, upgrades his stage of martial Dao, takes revenge, challenges several masters, kills vicious bully and protects the justice in his heart, with his wisdom and bravery. This is the legends so call a 'break down' and 'build up' in oriental culture.

The phagocytosis system, nobody knows where it comes from, is a powerful and miraculous system, capable to devour everything except human being and reap the benefits from the spiritual energy. The more precious materials you feed the system, the higher level you can reach. It can also exchange high level martial arts and bloodlines via devouring points, such as the Gale Sword Technique, Tiger Roar Breaking Dragon's RoaIs, ect. All of them are so cool! Does the system quite like a game? And Ye Xuan must be the best player on the way to the strongest martial art master.

Killing Chenfeng, Killing Chensong and killing Chenqiang. After a series of battles, Ye Xuan successful kills these evil bastards, takes revenge and rescues Qingqing from the lair. The story is so nervous. I read these chapters without any break. When reading Ye Xuan finally killed Chengqiang, who’s martial level is even higher than Ye, by smart fight skills, using Tiger Roar Breaking Dragon's RoaIs in a flash, I can’t help to yell Bravo!!!It must greatly satisfy all the readers heating bully and vicious power. At that time, Ye Xuan absolutely is a hero of justice and weak.

Beside revenge and promoted martial art, Ye Xuan’s heart is full of kindness. There’s a plot touched me so much. All the people betray him at the beginning of story, excepts his personal maid, Liu'er – they treat each other like brother and sister, since they grew up together from 3 years old. When Liu’er is bullied by Chen, “to Ye Xuan, bullying liu'er was bullying him. He swore to take revenge, and to return it double.” What a loyalty man, faithful to his close people and friendship!! I’d like to have such a brother who can step forward bravely when facing dangerous conditions.

When back to Lin’s family, the betrothed wife’s family, cancelled the engagement before, he shows sincere gratitude instead of angry out of my expectation – “I believe that fate is mine, and that it must be mine. It doesn't belong to me, so I won't force it.” Ye Xuan is avenging on evil, but merciful to the partner, although they did something hurt him.

I think this statement also perfectly illustrates the character of Ye Xuan: accepting the challenge of fate, facing the poor conditions. No fear. No escape. Never.

That’s the reason why Ye Xuan survives from the worst beginning of this “game”, then becomes a great martial master step by step. Not just relies on the luck, but his thinking and courage. He has glorious goals too. No stop at rich, woman or power but make self-breakthrough and level up continuously.

Good story, but grammar is terrible

Overall, I enjoy the story and it’s concept. However, the grammar and translation errors (I’m assuming) are really atrocious. Some of them are pretty hilarious, though.

For example, just about every character is referred to as a “he” and a “she” interchangeably with no level of consistency. There are numerous situations where a statement is made which may have some idiomatic meaning in the original language that, when translated, make no sense or are absurd, can either be jarring to the story flow, despite being hilarious. I must say I really got a laugh out of one reference to tofu... :)

Overall, I would give it 2.5 stars out of 5. If this could get revised with a professional editor, I think his would be a definitely worthwhile read and be at least 4-star worthy. Adding in some footnotes to explain some idioms would probably push it up a little more.

Story okay, translation/proofing poor.

I’m used to weak English in these type translated Chinese web novels, but constant different translations of the same name (such as sect name) in succeeding paragraphs in the same chapter, often even the next paragraph, is ridiculous (cloud breaking sect, cloud splitting sect, cloud cracking sect, cloud cleaving sect in the same chapter; or heaven origin sect and in the next paragraph sky origin sect). Also often people will be misnamed, even the same name used for different people interacting (“Lin Xue’er had seen Lin Xue’er once, and her appearance ...)

A diamond in dirt

The story is good but, comprehending it is a challenge because the translator used personal pronouns like she, he, her, or his incorrectly. Add foreign names into the mix and you have a confusing story to follow. Imagine being introduced to a female character, only to have the male characters refer to this female character as a ”him” and vice verse. One character was even refered to as both he and she in the same paragraph over and over. With everything said, this story has potential, and I will most likely read the next book. I just hope they improved their translations/grammar.

Good plot

It’s a good book and the plot is pretty decent. Although the author gets the pronouns mixed up and the grammars bad. He should also make the main character less lucky. Over all it’s a good book

More cheat mode fun

Xe Yuan eats it all. A one man army. Doesn't really understand girls. He can sure make a deal and he fight like a demon. Yeah the translation goes off the rails in places. It's wuxia. Had a fun time reading it.

Confusing.

The translation is all over the place. Names change within the same sentence. Him and her switched at random. Lots of another annoying problems spoil what could have been a decent story.

It's ok

It's a decent story, but could use some major over haul in the editing and grammar so people can read it easier. But out side of the it's has had a good spot storyline that could be improved on, one of the down sides is that the nd is op, and the world building could use a little bit of fine funding but out side of that, it's a good start.

Violent wuxia

Pretty good proofreading except for pronouns and a few verbs. Gruesome death some beasts, huge amount killing for profit. Extreme money amounts not believable otherwise ok.

Could be better

There are so many grammer mistakes that it is almost unreadable if it weren't for the mistakes it would be a passable store

Good novel

Great story line. Needs a editor badly. If grammar issues turn you off, then run away. However, if you don't mind this is a good system book. It focuses more on a story and less on the system and less on cultivation.

Needs better translation

It's not a bad story and I'll continue to read it but the translation is bad. Very little details and the MC levels up so fast for no reason, he barely has to do anything to level up.

Grest story, bad editing

If you can get through the editing issues it's a really great book. I enjoyed how the author tried a different reincarnation story

I enjoyed this book.

The action is pretty well written and the characters are decent for a first book. The translation is much better than normal for Babel novel. Overall I enjoyed it.
