Rate this book
Kidnapped and ripped from a life of brutality, thrown into a life of depraved pain and learning the real meaning of family.

My brother is the evil incarnate, and I am molded by his hands. He has taught me every twisted desire I hold dear. My only goal is to please him.

Do not think you know what happens behind closed doors because the truth will not set you free- it will only rip your insides out.

Family ties can be deadly, but is it wrong I enjoy the pain?

I am an Iniquity- a wicked act or thing because that is what pleases him.

WHAT THE FUCK DID I JUST READ???

HANDS DOWN THE MOST HORRIFYING, DISTURBING AND TWISTED BOOK I HAVE EVER READ!!

Luke, my stepbrother, would own every ounce of my humanity, and I would beg for more. It was the welcome to being a part of a real family.

I thought this would be kind of a semi-dark-thriller-romance book which I wouldn't mind. But this? THIS SCARRED ME FOR LIFE!

I welcomed the abuse. I looked forward to the pain. I craved his torture.
Was it wrong that I wanted him to peel my flesh piece by piece, strip by strip, sliver by sliver, while he ravaged me body and soul?

I don't know whether to be disgusted by what's inside and rate it a 1☆ or to be impressed that this author went there and give it a higher rating.
So I'm not rating this at all.

I've never read a book from the POV of such a disturbing character as Eve. She's so far gone - I don't have any words for it. Case in point: The book starts with Eve killing her mother, and it only becomes more horrifying from there.

Humanity was something not everyone was born with. I believed that mine had been beaten out of me. Luke, well, I believe he never had it to begin with.

My only purpose, as far as I was concerned, was to please Luke and make him proud of me. His gratification was my only concern. And I would sacrifice anyone or anything to make that happen.

Edit March 2021:
After further contemplating, I think I have the final verdict for this book now.

Worst book I've ever read in my entire life.

----------------------------

I don't know what I expected from this book, other than the fact that I was in the mood to torture myself reading dark... DARK romance this isn't a romance... 😂 more of a torture porn. There you'll have it.

It traumatized me honestly. I don't even know how to rate this. My OCD self wouldn't let it just be blank, so by the end of this review, I need to decide and put this damn book behind me.

If you don't know, this book was a part of the Inferno world/series written by Yolanda Olson; whose books I digested and churned uncomfortably a few weeks ago. It was like watching a horrible trainwreck, you couldn't look away and as much as I hate it, a dark part of me wanting to feel the gore and cruelty again. Hence why I decided to try out this book.

It opened with a murder of the main protagonist's mother, described vividly. Hell, I know I should've dropped this book right then and there. But no. I was too stubborn for that, wanting to see the end of this fucked up brother and sister's life.

In doing so, I have read the worst torture scene I have ever read in my entire life.

In the end, I was left with an empty shell of myself. Can I be free of this nightmare? Oh god. I need a fun read after all of these shits.

Sometimes, what's best for ourselves may be the death of others ...

Now I knew when I asked Emery to be part of the Inferno World series, that she would bring her A-Game and knock this out of the park. However, what I did not know was that she was going to make me squirm, cringe, and pray for a repentance that wasn't mine to seek.

What does one do when they've lived a life nothing short of dismal and melancholic? How do you survive the lessons that soon come your way whether you were prepared for them or not? You pick up a sharp object, put a smile on your face, and do your best.

All in the name of desperately seeking the praise denied as a child, horrific things await the unsuspecting in the pages of Iniquity. At points, I stopped reading just to text Em and ask her if what I had just read was real, only to be told that it was.

There are many hard subjects in this book that may cause the reader to flinch, but if you're an Emery LeeAnn pro, you know what to expect.

This book is definitely worthy of Inferno World and #DaddyApproved!

Genre: Horror
Type: Standalone novella in the Inferno World collection
POV: First Person - Multiple
Rating:

All Eve ever knew in her life was pain. Being rescued by her brother didn't make it any better. But the pain of his disapproval was the worst of all.

Well, this book was a lot darker than I expected. I can't help but cringe plenty of times throughout the book, from the highly graphic scenes.

I would soon find out that he wanted to create the perfect monster, so I would surrender my soul to give him one. After all, a monster had tormented me, and a monster had saved me.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Eve was a lot worse than Luke. She was unhinged, but I loved seeing her relationship with another character. And, of course, I loved the ending.

Iniquity is a story of commitment and belonging. It would appeal to readers who enjoy taboo horror.

After only knowing abuse, Eve tries so hard to please her new step-brother, Luke, but he has other ideas about family values. When Eve is tested, her choices reveal the truth of her existence.

“Now that darkness was my freedom. He was my freedom.”

Entering Eve’s world is no easy feat. While Eve is completely committed to Luke, there is a glimmer of humanity until she realizes family is her only salvation. As for Luke, the mystery continues to revolve around him and his ideals are solely his.

In starting this novella, I was expected dark and depraved, but this one also made me squirm, as Eve’s actions are quite primordial. When it came to secondary characters, they highlighted Eve’s inevitable arc. Interestingly, Eve’s narrative came at a pivotal time.

Iniquity is about survival and misplaced love. This book would appeal to those seeking a horror read without any boundaries.

🌶️🌶️

I started this a while back but then I read reviews and it was a big ole nope.

Then a few months back I read a little horror story called Mukbang Princess. After that I’m like I can handle this.

I have no regrets but this shit was pitch black. There were minor flashes of light but they weee so quick you’d blink and miss it.

Definitely not for the light of heart.

If you have triggers including harm to children and animals, I’d skip this one.

Holy cow!! What an excellent edition to the Inferno World series..
All Luke wants is family loyalty, family comes first and do as you are told...Eve is absolutely cray cray she loves pushing boundaries, causing havoc and most of all Luke ,she just can't seem to get it right.
If you're squeamish this is not for you..In typical Emery style she reels you in then scares the beejeebuz outta you with blood, pain.and a whole lot of crazy.

I devoured this in one day. I don't want to give anything away, BUT if you think you're ready for this...yeah, you're not ready for this next installment in the Inferno World. LOL
Is it dark? Pitch black.
Is it depraved? Disturbingly so.
Will it have you questioning your own sanity? Absolutely!!
Seriously, Ms. LeeAnn takes you on a wild ride through a dark taboo relationship that with make you shiver and shout expletives at the characters.

I’m not gonna rate this because my rating would not reflect the actual writing which was actually really well done, but would be based on my personal feelings. I mean.......the crazy bitch got what she deserved and honestly if the baby part had been left out I would’ve rated this and rated it highly

“...he wanted to create the perfect monster, so I would surrender my soul to give him one. After all, a monster had tormented me, and a monster had saved me.”

This is Eve’s story. First we meet young, innocent Eve living with her drug addicted, prostitute mom who literally does ANYTHING to get a fix, including physically, mentally and sexually abusing Eve. One day, a step brother Eve’s never heard of named Luke shows up to kidnap her for the sole purpose of making her his sex toy and trainee.

“I was his perfect sacrifice. He was using me as a test subject, if you will. A macabre experiment. He wanted to see how much one person could endure without utterly shattering to pieces. The thing that he didn't count on was that I welcomed the abuse. I looked forward to the pain. I craved his torture. Was it wrong that I wanted him to peel my flesh piece by piece, strip by strip, sliver by sliver, while he ravaged me body and soul?”

Eve is by far the most dysfunctional character I’ve ever read about. The things that Eve, Luke, and the few people they encounter do are off the charts disturbing and entertaining. I read a lot of dark, twisted books, so it takes a whole hell of a lot to make me cringe, but I physically shuddered several times while reading this crazy book!!! Multiple times, full body chills!!!!

This crazy dark book has EVERYTHING! Homelessness, rape, self mutilation, abduction, prostitution, sadism, voyeurism, masochism, drug addiction.... there’s even a bit of animal cruelty, cannibalism and child abuse, so you’ll need to have a strong stomach for this book! Pretty much all I read is dark erotica and dark romance, so I thought I’d read it all, but no... Emery LeeAnn shocked the hell out of me!!! In this extremely short story, there were tons of shocking, disgusting acts of torture and cruelty - things I‘d never even imagined! My only complaint is that there wasn’t more – I wish things didn’t end suddenly as they had!

Emery, you are one sick, twisted bitch, and I am stoked that I discovered your books!!!!

So Disturbing...

Wow! What the hell, did I just read. The things that happens in this story is disgusting, degrading, and deplorable, but it stays to the theme of the series. This story is so out there, and I love it. Emery, is a God, when it comes to writing these types of books.

Iniquity is about the dark life, of Eve. How she is made to do some really horrible things for her lover, but when she does things wrong, she is put through the worst things ever for redemption. This story, the scenes, the characters and the writing are amazing!

Inferno World Series, is a couple of novellas, that is dark themed with a whole lot of taboo situations. If you're not into these type of books, then don't read them but if you are, get them and enjoy! ( Read the Inferno series by Yolanda Olson first to get an understanding)

It took me some time to write this review for Iniquity to explain how good it is without giving anything away so I will say this, Iniquity is extremely twisted, dark and captivating. Not all of the books in the in the Inferno world are the same so as a reader it is important to go in with that mentality. Readers will either enjoy Iniquity or have nightmares on the trigger train but I personally enjoyed it especially the ending.

This is an INFERNO WORLD book which means we’re treated to an alternate universe where things may have been different for Luke Greene, aka Pater, and his family.

In Author Emery LeeAnn’s vision we’re introduced to a younger version of Luke. I imagine this book would age him to somewhere between Sparks and Inferno. We experience Luke’s first attempt at grooming a wife, through the use of his stepsister Eve.

“…𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀, 𝗜 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝘆 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗹 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗺𝘆 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗹, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝘀𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲.”

Eve’s life, prior to Luke, wasn’t all roses. As a drug addict, Eve’s mom was willing to do anything for her next fix. That led to Eve suffering greatly at the hands of both her mother and her mother’s many clients/boyfriends. Salvation seemed to come in the form of Luke. But as we all know he isn’t anyone’s savior. He’s their tormentor, their dementor, their destruction.

The depravity we witness in this story hit a different darkness level for me. The murder and mayhem weren’t an issue. It was the descriptive animal maiming that made me cringe. It highlighted eve’s mental illness perfectly yet using your teeth over a gun was a little *coughing gag* for me. And the neighbor!! The window scenes were so HOT!! Love a good voyeur moment.

But that ending?!! Classically, perfectly Luke!!

Yet it’s not completely over…head over to Insinuate and read about Eve’s Twin!!

I am quite literally speechless at this book, I have so much to say but also want to forget I even put myself through this. This is the most disturbing, nauseating, dark and grittiest book I have ever read. I really played myself because I was hoping this was a fun quick dark romance but this was clearly not a romance. I feel sick, almost traumatised.

I don’t know how to rate this because as horrible as it was I kept on reading because clearly I am a masochist and simply couldn’t help myself. It was like a car crash waiting to happen. I can’t decide whether some of the things were for shock value or the plot. Where was the plot?? Nowhere in sight. I don’t know who I despise more Eve or Luke sigh… they were both equally disturbed but the lengths Eve went for his approval were abysmal. I mean she quite literally set her best friend on fire and if that wasn’t enough her brother Luke proceeds to lock her up in the cellar and Eve is so hungry she decides to cut pieces of herself and eat them. I cannot make this shit up.

Do I love dark and taboo reads? Absolutely when there is a plot but unfortunately for me there just wasn’t a plot, rhyme or reason why all that happened was happening. Points for keeping me engaged though even if I was highly disturbed. Anyway I need something light and fluffy after this.

Holy shiiiiit... this book. I knew it would be dark because anytime I see Inferno + Luke, I know it will be. But this is like... way more than I ever expected.

I think I spent the entire book cringing and looking away, even though it wasn’t a damn movie... I just couldn’t help it. Like I had to physically look away from the words on the page because it gave me chills - not in the good way, like it was so disgusting that I couldn’t even deal. Lol 😂 I don’t know why I torture myself this way...

Okay, so there’s a lot of triggers in this book. Let’s name a few: rape, abuse, murder, self harm, peeling skin, eating human flesh, torture, killing animals, killing a baby. 🤢🤢😰

Like... I’m just in shock right now. And I thought Luke was fucked up, I mean I guess he did get even more fucked up as he got older, but this book had a young Luke. But Eve? Wooooow... I think she surpassed him with her fucked-up-ness. But he did teach her to be that way, so eh?

Anyone who loves dark books will enjoy this. I’m glad I read it but shit.. I don’t think I can handle reading it a second time lol.

I don’t even know what to rate this. Like... I didn’t really enjoy it? But the shock factor was just off the charts for me so I have to give it some props for that. Probably around a 3.5⭐️

Fabulous Disaster

Eve is on a fast path to hell. Each inevitable step leads her further astray. How bad can it get? The horrifying ending, even properly forewarned, is not for the squeamish.

By the end, I was literally banging my head with my fist in reaction to the damnable words assaulting me from the page.

Amazing writing, the author has an astounding visceral talent.

This is my first one read from the inferno series.... And honestly my first for a book of this caliber. Honestly a read at your own risk!! This is the darkest, most disturbing piece ever. I felt like I should have put it down and not finished it... Like I was doing something wrong, the unthinkable. The layout, the thought process, the descriptiveness of it was phenomenal. So many issues that are so taboo, but you just can't put it down. The feelings that creep up are forbidden, sinful even. Its a horrific masterpiece!!!

Well now.

What do we have here?

You know what you are getting into when you are entering the Inferno World. Anyone who was "taken by surprise" with the how dark this was ... I don't know man. I don't believe you. It is what it is. Keep our biases at the door yo, and come on in.

Ahh Luke. This name is thrown around left and right in this Inferno world .... and Luke always seems to morph into so many different characters. Inferno world is like .... the many facets of Luke.

Luke in Iniquity.. is a complicated man ... and even "his woman" can't understand him.

SHAFT.

He shafted this girl. She's left dangling with a carrot in front of her. Can't never get right. No matter how much she tries. And oh boy, does she try. She tries dang hard. HARD.

You poor unfortunate soul. In Pain. In need.

Luke has morphed and molded this girl. Into what? I cannot say. Like a mutated moth/butterfly. Mothfly. Buttermoth.

What's your game here Luke? Is there a game? Where in Sam Hill does this foo go off to anyway? MIA left and right. Yet causes ripples like a freaking rock in a pond.

In fact, Luke is the butterfly effect for Eve.

This book is Pitch Black. We all knew it would be. It delivered.

And as the story ends for Eve ... we step out and close the door quietly. If you're running out, don't let the door slam you on the butt. Just saying.

This was one dark read, with uncomfortable scenarios that really pushed my boundaries. But did I stop reading? Hell no!

My mind was tied into this fascinating, shocking and gruesome story plot. Praise indeed to Emery for shocking the hell out me, and keeping me hostage until the very last word.
