KELLY THOMPSON has a degree in Sequential Art from The Savannah College of Art & Design. Her love of comics and superheroes have compelled her since she first discovered them as a teenager. Currently living in Portland, Oregon with her boyfriend and the two brilliant cats that run their lives, you can find Kelly all over the Internet where she is generally well liked, except where she's detested.
Kelly has published two novels - THE GIRL WHO WOULD BE KING (2012) and STORYKILLER (2014) and the graphic novel HEART IN A BOX from Dark Horse Comics (2015). She's currently writing ROGUE & GAMBIT, HAWKEYE, and PHASMA for Marvel Comics and GHOSTBUSTERS for IDW. Other major credits include: A-Force, Captain Marvel & The Carol Corps, Jem and The Holograms, Misfits, Power Rangers Pink, and the creator-owned mini-series Mega Princess.
Kelly's ambitions are eclipsed only by her desire to exist entirely in pajamas. Fortunately pajamas and writers go hand in hand (most of the time). Please buy all her stuff so that she can buy (and wear) more pajamas.
It seems like Gambit left his throne empty for a bit too long. The world has also resumed its manhunt of mutants, which is never a good thing. I appreciate the parallels between the manhunt for the X-Men and all the immigration problems currently occuring in the U.S. The X-Men have kind of always been a sort of allegory for marginalized groups and they've definitely gotten better of being a better representation of that. In reference to thieves and assassins guilds, they sure we're thorough with tying up Remy. It was great to see Rogue's show of solidarity for her marriage by going to help Gambit rather than being with the X-Men like he expected. It's too bad she's tied up and powerless like him now too, though. We'll see how this mini series ends. Hopefully on a more positive note for these newlyweds.
Oh snap Bella Donna! I liked the Gambit centric issue here. I have next to no idea what the other x-books was doing at this time, so all that context is lost to me. Still, its mostly explained enough that it doesn't matter. I wish we couldve seen more of New Orleans. Oh well. I love the hanging in chains repeated gag in these books. And the bondage references. Phoenix will like that. Hilarious and wonderful.
This issue started a little slow for me in the beginning but by the end I was all on board. It was great to see Gambit doing his thing for a little bit and Rogue's entrance has me very eager to see how this all wraps up.
Neither Scott nor Logan are my husband, Remy. You're the most important thing in the world to me. And I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be. By your side.
