Come along for a train ride with Bizzy Bear in this board book full of sliders to push, pull, and turn.
Join Bizzy Bear as he guides the big green steam engine across the city, through the level crossing, and then up into the high mountains. But where are he and his passengers going, and will they get there on time?
Benji Davies is the illustrator of the Bizzy Bear books, Bizzy Bear: Let’s Go and Play and Bizzy Bear: Fun on the Farm. As a child, Benji knew that when he grew up he either wanted to make films or draw pictures in books. He is still working out which he likes best, and currently divides his time between illustrating children’s books and directing animation.
He has worked on a huge range of subjects and platforms, with clients as diverse as such Waterstone’s, Sainsbury’s and Oxfam, and in countries as different as India and Australia. He’s illustrated for several major publishers and is pleased to be working on Nosy Crow’s start-up list.
Increïble història de superació, el 49e cop que l'he llegit (només contant avui) m'he emocionat. Em disposo a llegir-lo altre cop, l'Ona sembla emocionada per saber si acaba igual que els últims cops. Recomano comprar tota la col·lecció i que la vostra neboda només vulgui llegir (i de tant en tant mossegar) aquest. Ànims!
With lots of pull, push, and rotate fun, this cute book lets the excitement surrounding trains come to life.
Bizzy Bear is a train engineer. Right away on the cover, young readers can already pull a tab and watch the train grow from an engine to one pulling a car with passengers. Every page holds a new surprise as Bizzy Bear travels around to all sorts of different places.
Not only train fans will enjoy this book. First, Bizzy Bear is simply an adorable bear, and each of his friends are portrayed as kind and inviting. The joy is visible thanks to the bright and very detailed illustrations. So, this is definitely a book with good vibes...even the ending packs a lovely surprise. The various sliders and twists are well built and will withstand some abuse. Plus, the details will have listeners coming back again and again just to investigate the scenes and find something new.
The entire thing is written in short rhyme. The one phrases is repeated every time, making this one listeners will 'read along' with. The word choice is appropriate for the age group and easy to understand. It's a book to enjoy from beginning to end. I received an ARC and found this to be a cute, simple read.
Colorful board book with eye-catching pulls and illustrations that will have little ones re-reading it frequently. Those already in love with trains will particularly take to this as Bizzy and his passengers go from the station, across flat country, through a tunnel and around mountains and reach their final destination.
This is one of the few baby board books that has pop out tabs that I have seen that can actually withstand the abuse of toddlers. So that point alone makes me not care much about whether the prose is decent or not.
Another rhyming board book with sturdy push-and-pull tabs, sliders, and a spinning wheel about the hardworking adorable Bizzy Bear. This time Bizzy Bear is a train engineer driving a trainload of passengers from a city, through mountains, and arriving at nightfall at a festival. A fun interactive board book that will be enjoyed by Bizzy Bear fans and little ones who love train books.
