The book was slow to start & I felt overwhelmed if not bothered by the copious amounts of "interview style" presentations from different people in the industry. Given that I have a vested interest to join this career field I chose to carry on with the book and the Q&A style the author takes with his subjects grew on me.
Rather than taking one persons opinion of what a person needs to become an interior designer this person polled countless professionals in the industry asking a myriad of questions that gave me perspective from the ground up.
This book is aimed at someone with little to no idea where to start with a career in interior design and it hit the mark perfectly in my opinion. Parents who have children interested in becoming an interior designer OR people interesting in changing career fields can't go wrong reading this book. My only concern/reservation for the book is job industries are not timeless & as such I worry that this book being four years old may not have the most current industry trends made available to the reader simply because technology/style/job markets have changed since its print.

This book is SO bad, it's appalling! I honestly can't begin to understand how would anyone want to become an interior designer after reading this book. It's dull, dreary, and very cut & dry. An ID profession requires great imagination, creativity and practical skills. It's far from dull and dreary. So, if anyone is interested in becoming an Interior Designer, I would highly recommend to keep looking for other sources and materials. This book isn't worth it's price and time spent on it.
