I’m still not 100% sure who the queen is, and IMO, the very brief story itself was a waste of my time. However, I am still glad I read this because at the end, we get factual information on what inspired this story including photos of the real asylum!!! The pictures alone made this book worth my money and time!!!

MAIN CHARACTERS
Chosen / Silence / Chaos / Tharial: A young woman who was raised by a demonic church built upon the suffering of an insane asylum. She is intelligent but deeply scarred by a lifetime of manipulation, trauma, and abuse, all under the guise of divine purpose.
Solomon Gorge: A man who has struggled with his faith after the disappearance of his fiancée. He lives in seclusion, estranged from his family, and has mostly resigned himself to a life of isolation—until Chaos crashes into his world.

SUMMARY
A young woman is raised by a twisted religious cult that brainwashes her into believing their horrific rituals are God-willed. Named Chaos by their leader, “Master,” she is tasked with seducing a man named Solomon Gorge in preparation for a ceremonial desecration. She’s brutally beaten and left for Solomon to find. Despite their vastly different worlds, Solomon takes her in and offers her a place to heal.

What begins as cautious observation between two damaged people turns into a tangled web of manipulation, trauma, and something attempting to resemble love. Before they can make sense of it, the cult recaptures them both. But not before they “marry” and consummate their feelings. Held prisoner and tortured in preparation for the desecration, they are saved just in time—and from there, commit to dismantling the church’s deep-rooted evil and uncover the long-buried secrets that created it.

MY REVIEW
Characters: ★★☆☆☆
I don’t know how much I rate this based on character development or just how uncomfortable they made me feel. Either way, I struggled very much with their perspectives and behaviors.
Chemistry: ★☆☆☆☆
I feel this rating is generous. The fact that both were trying to manipulate the other and then fall in love so abruptly—especially from Solomon’s side—felt forced and frankly uncomfortable. I get Chaos, considering her trauma and the idea of unconditional love and marriage, but Solomon’s side just didn’t make sense.
Spice: ★★★☆☆
There’s a hefty amount of spice, but honestly… I skipped through a lot. I just couldn’t.
Plot: ★★½☆☆
This is the most redeeming part of the series, BUT it still wasn’t great. A lot of the mystery and story moved slowly and often felt stuck, like a wobbly record skipping in place.
Worldbuilding/Environment: ★★½☆☆
We travel a bit, but the setting is never immersive. We're told where we are, but not what it feels like. The idea that a whole town is in on the church’s crimes but also… not? It wasn’t well explained and left more confusion than intrigue.
Consistency/Errors: ★★☆☆☆
As the books progressed, editing and proofreading seemed to decline. There were lots of misspellings and formatting errors that distracted from the story.
OVERALL: ★☆☆☆☆
I went into this series blind. I almost didn’t give it a chance, but I saw a comment that said it wasn’t what the reader expected. I guess I took that as a good thing. For me? That’s a negative, ghost rider. I was frustrated and uncomfortable throughout just about every encounter between Chaos and Solomon from beginning to end.

This series just felt wrong throughout—and I’m sure the author had some deliberate intention behind that discomfort, but to what degree? I honestly don’t know. Chaos endures an upbringing filled with the worst kinds of abuse—emotional, physical, sexual—and is brainwashed into believing it’s her divine duty to play out these horrific “roles.” Even her closest thing to a protector, her grandmother, furthers the church’s agenda by mutilating her at their command.

With all of this in mind—that these things happen to her repeatedly, that her self-worth is systematically stripped away—her falling for Solomon feels more like a child clinging to the first person to show her kindness. And because of that, their relationship, particularly the physical side of it, feels unsettling. Solomon, at least, has lived in the real world and knows right from wrong. If a romance was going to exist at all, it should have happened much, much later—after healing, after recovery, after some sense of personal agency was restored to her.

Instead, she only begins to truly question things after watching him be tortured and violated. There are so many moments in this series that made me want to scream “WHY?!” or “For what? For who?!” I truly don’t know who this series is meant for, and the fact that it’s labeled as dark romance feels deeply inappropriate.

Despite that, the epilogue (after the Queen’s identity “reveal”) was actually very interesting—if not traumatizing. It revealed a lot of the author's intention with the series and bringing attention to the very real cruelty people endured.

So, in conclusion we know from Book 3 that Solomon and Chaos survive, and vengeance was given. I was looking for a HEA but considering previous events this story ended in the only logical way. See if you think so too, it’s a short book and Lucian also includes information and pictures of a real asylum in Weston, West Virginia. Also, a really interesting timeline of mental illness treatment. The amount of research that went into writing these books is incredible but knowing how Lucian Bane writes and the importance of the storyline to him I am not a bit surprised. You leave me understanding this ending Lucian and hope for their future. No one wants it more than Solomon Gouge.

This conclusion to the desecrating Solomon series was heartbreaking. I went into it thinking the answers to the questions left in the story would be answered and they were but in a way that left everything semi-open ended for the readers own interpretation of the future of the characters.
The real unexpected portion of this book was the brief history of mental illness treatment that it went into. If you’re interested in the history of mental illness treatment. This is a great run through of it’s tainted past.

Much more then expected

I almost duo read this series because someone had left a comment that it was boring and about Christianity. This book and series has nothing to do with Christianity it has to do with a satanic cult and was very very good!! I had a hard time putting it down, and book 4 was extremely educational !! I am so glad I read it, but many times I put my hand over my mouth shook my head and said OMG !!!!

Well Lucian Bane's blurb was a bit deceiving, yes we did find out who the Queen was but this wasn't an entire story, more like two paragraphs wrapping up the series and the rest was a history lesson on asylums and the methods of treatment. My 4-5 stars is for the entire series and not this book. A bit misleading Mr. Bane.

WTF? 😳 What was this?? And why the heck was this not just included in the trilogy?! 🤨
I had a lot of questions after finishing Desecrating Solomon The Trilogy 🤔 (which, btw, was a 5 star read for me!).
I hoped some of the unanswered questions and unresolved issue would be clarified in this book; the epilogue which didn't happen as Lucian Bane called it.
But what a disappointment!! I even dare to say that The Queen detracts from the whole story, rather than add anything valuable. 🥴
A total waste of time & money, if you ask me.
The pictures of the asylum at the end of the book were 'nice' though.
