A very interesting guide to not only deciphering the symbols, but what context we have around the people who spoke the language. Unfortunately for myself, it seemed a case of "the more you know, the less you understand."

Tam olarak beklediğim şey değildi. Ama isminden ne anlaşılıyorsa oymuş aslında kitap. Ben daha çok bir sözlük gibi olacak zannetmiştim mesela. Oysa genel olarak hiyerogliflerin mantığını anlatıyor. Aslında mantığından da çok, Antik Mısır tarihinden bilgiler vermekle uğraşıyor yazar. Yani bu bilgileri de tarih dersinde şu oldu bu oldu şeklinde anlatarak da değil, şöyle bir şey yazan eserler var, şurada şu duvarda bu işaretler var, o zaman da firavun bu idi, onun amcası şu idi, baş vezirin damadının dayısının eniştesi şöyle bir şey yazdırmıştı diyerek anlatıyor.
Evet pek anlaşamadım kitapla.

This book is a good source to understand the secret of hieroglyphs. It explains ancient Egypt’s culture in a detailed way and you can take a glance at their hierarchical system. I highly recommend this book if you are interested in history and especially, ancient Egypt.
