Light and easy comfortable contemporary read.

Hadn't seen "The Good Girl Show" on Youtube of which the book is a scripted version.
Found it interesting with a good strong message.
Didn't like the usage of too many English words in Hindi font. Always better when English words are used in English.
The emotions of Pooja are easily relatable to any girl next door - anxiety on landing in a big city from a small town, adjusting with mosaic roommates, shattering prudent thought process…

Well my rating dosent mean anything here. Because I did not read the book completely. From the first page I had a feeling this is something I know and within few pages I understood I know the complete story. Unfortunately I have seen the youtube web series The Good Girl Show and this book is a detail transcript of that story. So I could not read it further. I don't think many would have seen that web series but those who have already seen will not be able to read the book as they know the whole story.

किताब अच्छी है. पर परेशानी यह है कि ये एक पटकथा सी लगती है. उपन्यास कम. Stereotypes को तोड़ने के लिए clichés का भरपूर सहारा लेती है. सवाल खड़े करती है हर दृष्टिकोण से हर प्रकार से. पर बुझा सा है कुछ. यदि मर्म को परे रख बस साहित्य का चश्मा लगाए रखूं तो नएपन का अभाव स्पष्ट है और किताब अपने जहन में कुलबुलाते ऐसे मार्मिक सवालों को और अधिक प्रभावकारी और मुखर रूप से कह पाने की बजाए बस जैसे टीवी शो या पिक्चर के लिए निर्धारित समय की खानापूर्ति करती है.

Wow what a book.. I don't know whether the story about 4 girls is true or not but it is very true for every girl in every phase of life. Starting from home that they shouldn't go out too late, they shouldn't wear small cloths, they shouldn't talk with boys...and many shouldn't and if something goes wrong then they are the one whom to be blame because it was their mistake that why they were talking to boys, why they were out late night etc etc.
The writer tried to point out many things including the non acceptance of north Easterners even after more than 70 years of Independence, campus election, women security, bad girls and good girls.
The physical assault episode made me cry..now i realize the pain and trauma through which a girl, women would have gone through and how the life become hell.
The election chapter and debate chapter was too much otherwise everything written very beautifully just like writer was there living every moment.

Exciting, connecting, expressing and backdrawn!

The story is mainly of a girl coming from a small town in Delhi, who tries to understand the city. It also includes further several stories of other characters, which provide it continuation.

The story is very helpful to understand feelings of a woman or a girl. It also portrays some normal problems that girls have to face in their regular life, even, in a city like, or specially Delhi.

The only drawback is that the story is a bit slow after starting very fast. But as soon it picks up the pace, you cannot leave it. This book can be a good suggestion while travelling.

DO NOT READ IT IF YOU HAVE WATCHED THE WEB SERIES!!!!!

जिसे हम आज फिल्म में nuance और layered story कहते हैं, इस कहानी को आधी दूर पढ़ने के बाद लगने लगा था शायद इस nuance की कमी की शिकायत यहां पनपने लगे | कहानी में आपको शायद stereotypes दिखें, और लगे कि इसमें वैसे तो कुछ नया नहीं है| कई बार ये बात कही और लिखी गई है| लेकिन हिम्मत को लड़की का पर्यायवाची बताने वाली इस कहानी को बार बार, कई बार दोहराया जाना चाहिए| इसमें जिस पुरानी बात का ज़िक्र है, उसे उससे भी बहुत पुरानी, जर जर धारणाओं को लांघना है|
दिलचस्प ये भी है कि इस कहानी के तीन रूप हैं| एक तो ये उपन्यास खुद, दूसरी एक web series 'the good girl show', और तीसरा एक नाटक, 'अंतर्द्वंद्व'| वेब सीरीज़ के कुछ एपिसोड्स देख लिए हैं, बाकि देखने को उत्सुक हूँ|

Story of four girls and their struggle at the capital of india(Delhi). With this city name, many of you would have understood the topic. बहुत खूब अनु जी

प्रशांत भाई मेरे लिए उस गुरु की तरह ही जिन्होंने मेरे लेखकीय जीवन के आरंभ में कुछ ऐसे टिप्स दिए, जिनसे मेरा रास्ता थोड़ा सरल हुआ। उनसे मिलने के बाद मैंने द गुड गर्ल शो देखा था। यह 4 साल पहले की बात है। इस किताब को पढ़कर मैंने वह शो पुनः देख लिया लेकिन एक अलग तरीके से।

किताब में कई जगह टाइपो हैं तो उसे सही कर दिया जाए तो और बढ़िया होगा।

रोचक, किंतु अंत ठीक नहीं

उपन्यास की शुरुआत से लेकर पूजा प्रकाश के दिल्ली आने तक का और दिल्ली आने के बाद की जद्दोजहद अच्छी तरह से लिखी गयी है। लेकिन उसके बाद कहानी बहुत नाटकीय तरीके से अंत की ओर बढ़ जाती है। पाठक उपन्यास में इतना रम चुका होता है कि ऐसा अचानक अंत शेष उपन्यास के साथ न्याय करता हुआ नहीं लगता और साथ ही यह अंत बाकी कहानी के साथ बेमेल भी लगता है। फिर भी अच्छा उपन्यास। मूल रूप से ग्रामीण पृष्ठभूमि या छोटे शहर से आने वाला कोई भी व्यक्ति उपन्यास के साथ जुड़ाव का अनुभव निश्चित रूप से करेगा।
