This read like a sweet, country, small-town romance with a touch of paranormal. It was pretty bland, with a spark of something else. I felt like the author didn't give it the push it needed to make it special, although it had plenty of potential. I've read from this author before (and she slayed), so this book won't stop me from giving her another try.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I didn’t want to put it down. The story is creative, tightly woven, filled with great characters and a lot of emotions. I hesitate to say too much about this book because I don’t want to give anything away. It is well worth reading.

Really enjoyed this book. New author for me and I have to say I dig it! I hope there are more to this series because I have to say I'm intrigued. :)

We first meet fallen angel X, AKA Exodus. He's been serving his punishment on Earth when he meets sweet Niki who is unfortunately very sick. She has no real faith and knows she's dying and its a matter of time. Its a sweet story and someone wants X for themselves and I'm not giving anything else away. You gotta read it for yourself and you wont be disappointed. Can Niki find her faith and believe in Angels in time? Oh and the end? Awwww!

Niki is trying to make her grandmother's diner better again but things seem so bleak for her . She suffers from a bad heart and is destined to be alone . Until the day that Exodus Brooks happened to walk into her life and catch her when she went tumbling down the stairs Maybe they are what they have been looking for in each other but like all good stories their is more and there is a demon that might just rip them apart . Will they survive and forgive and love each other .
These characters got me right away . Exodus is an fallen angel and oh so sexy. But there is more to him , he is also a really great guy that could charm the pants right off of you . He is also really just wanting to go home When you see him with Niki wow the sparks fly . Even though they both try and deny it . I loved him he wasn't your typical brooding male . He was fun and a good guy . Niki well when you first meet her she is shy and a little naive . You really just want to wrap her up in bubble wrap and keep her safe . As you read though you realize that she is a really strong character with more moxy then most people . I truly liked these two , and the sweet way that they are together . They seem to have a pure kind of love . Now with every hero and heroine there is a evil character and man she is evil . She will do anything to get Exodus back and drag him to hell with her .
This story is so romantic and sweet, the characters are so well written you will fall in love with them. This is a nice twist on the whole angel genre and trust me you won't be able to put it down . There is more to this story then just falling in love . There is an underlying theme of forgiveness and loving unconditionally and the ability to actually do what is right when you are called to do it . I just wish that it didn't end so soon, I would of loved to have it a little longer. Where we can really get a feeling for the main characters and watch their love grow . Over all i truly loved this book and the story line . The author does a great job taking us on a rollercoaster ride of emotion . So if you want a sweet sexy love story full of redemption and understanding this is the story for you . Check it out you will not be disappointed .

After falling from His grace, Exodus has been punished to live on Earth for a thousand years. No mortal woman has tempted him in all his time on Earth. But that all changes when he meets the sickly, yet beautiful woman Niki. She's an enigma to Exodus. While all the other women he's come across have tried to get in his bed, Niki is rather indifferent towards him.

Niki has lived all her life in and out of hospitals and gone through more surgeries than a person should have to. All she wants to do is keep her grandmother's diner running and live what little of a life she can in her condition.

I absolutely adored Exodus and Niki's story. It's not an insta-love, but a friendship that seems to build between these two first. Exodus shows Niki all the beauty the world has to offer and Niki shows Exodus a love he never thought possible.

Loved it!

What happens when an angel cast to Earth for a thousand years for lusting is just two weeks from the end of his sentence and judgement? He falls in love, of course. This story follows Exodus as he bids his time until his judgement.

Living in a small Georgia town, Exodus is only a mere two weeks from the end of his sentence. The only problems.....a human with a terminal heart defect and a demoness Hell bent on presenting Exodus at Lucifer's feet.

This book was wonderfully written. I enjoyed every moment of it. It kept my attention from beginning to end. Looking forward to more from this author.

Sent to Earth from Heaven for 1 thousand years for punishment, Exodus has been faithful for that entire time until he meets Niki . She always lived with the knowledge that she could never have a normal life with her heart condition. Always knowing that she would never have those things that so many others had. Until he showed up in Hazel's Diner one morning and there was something different about him. I'm in love with this book , it has so many things that tugged at my heart. It has faith, joy, love, faith, patience, plus evil. But does evil win or will love conquer all? What will happen to Niki because of her heart condition? Is Exodus allowed back in Heaven to return to his life there ? So many questions but the answers are there and not everything is not straight forward This is a must read book because no matter what the ending is, you'll end up loving it. I know that I did

A wonderful story of faith and family. Fallen angels caught in a compromising situation, they were condemned to spend 1000 years apart until judgement day, one was sent to hell and the other to Earth. Delia spends her time in hell plotting the downfall of Exodus who has been sent to Earth. Two weeks before judgment Exodus meets Nikki who is ill with little time left and sparks fly. Can X control himself until judgment? To make matters worse Delia has escaped and is after him, will any of them survive this encounter.

Could not stop reading!!! With the brief description of what the book is about and the cover of the book, I had no idea how surprisingly sweet story it was. Loved the characters and the title suits it well. Torn on so many levels, Delia, Niki and her heart condition and then Liviticus's decisions at the end, edge of my seat read!!! Will there be a continuation to this potential series, I sure hope so. Ditter Kellen always delivers an amazing story with well developed characters, love this author!

Exodus only has a little time left before his judgment. Visiting his favorite diner, he meets Niki, the original owner's granddaughter. Spending time together, they fall in love. Unfortunately, there's a demon who will stop at nothing to destroy that love.

I really liked reading this story. At first, I didn't think I would like the story, by the cover. Yeah, I know, 'Don't judge a book by it's cover.' We all do. I liked this story right from the beginning. I enjoyed the story line, which was different than others. The characters were fantastic.

Niki inherited her grandmother's diner. She has always had great memories of her grandmother and the diner, so she is going to do everything she can to keep it running. For some reason, there isn't the money there should be because they are always busy. On top of all that, she has always had a heart condition. She is on medication to help, but she knows when the medicine stops helping her, she will die. She was in the hospital during her childhood more than not. Never had a boyfriend, no prom, no graduation party. It seems everything in the diner is breaking down. First the plumbing, now the refrigerator. She forgets to eat because of nausea, so now she is very skinny. She barely fits into her clothes any more. Then this hot looking guy walks into the diner. Wowza!

Exodus, yes, like in the bible, is a fallen angel. Once, almost a thousand years ago Delia, a female demon tempted him into bed. She was banished to Hell for 1000 years, and he was banished to Earth for 1000 years. If he can behave himself, no temptation, when he is being judged, he will be allowed back into Heaven. Then his angel friend Leviticus shows up and tells him that Delia was released early and is looking for him. If she can tempt him again, she will get huge points from Lucifer because Exodus' soul will go to hell, along with the rest of him. Meanwhile back on Earth, Exodus goes to the diner because he doesn't feel like cooking. He has been going to the diner for more years than people would realize. He new Niki's grandmother, and the food at the diner has always been great. The first time he sees Niki she is about to fall down the wooden stairs in the back of the diner up to her apartment. She is about to pass out when he catches her. He befriends her, helping her out, buying the new refrigerator that the diner needs but she can't afford. He recommends that she put security cameras up to find out if someone is skimming from the till. When he asks her if she has a boyfriend or husband, she says that if nobody ever asked her to prom, how was she supposed to have a boyfriend or husband? Leviticus confirms his suspensions that she is dying and doesn't have much time left. And Delia pops up a few times to try to tempt X, but she doesn't.

Torn - I do not care for stories about fornicating angels, but I like some of Ms. Kellen's books and wanted to give Torn a chance. This clean book is great and I love it.

Totally different from the trash written about angels today, this book is about redemption and love, and sacrifice from an angel days away from serving his 1000-years of punishment for being seduced by a demon. Of course, the demon escapes her imprisonment in Hell and wrecks havoc in his life.

There is a lot more to this story than good verses evil, but this is not a book report. The storylines are interesting and well told, and the characters are great. I contacted the author to review her books and received Torn through Booksprout. 5*

Enigma: What Lies Beneath – This is not really a genre I want to read a lot of but I wanted to see what this new to me author had up her sleeve. If well written, I will read any genre, except porn. It bothers me when sex/lust is in a dangerous, life-threatening situation; like rescuing someone and swapping spit instead of running to safety.

I could not get into this story, which I found predictable, oversexed at inappropriate times and just too much Hollywood garbage-style. I quit at chapter 12 and skipped the sex scenes, which I always find boring. This genre and series is not for me. I found this book on Booksprout. 3

UPDATE, Sept., 2019: the author informed me today that this series is revamped and the porn aspects removed. I will reread this book since I do like this author's work so far.

Oliver Quick #1 – This is my first read by this author and I am looking forward to reading more of her work. This book was intriguing and filled with suspense from the first chapter on and only got more so as the pages continued to the end.

Well written and interesting, the book was hard to put down until I finished it. I did not select the same person as the FBI did; it was too obvious. I like all of the main characters; their stories and their thinking.

The author warns of vulgar language but it is infrequent and justified in its usage. Although there are descriptions of the horrible things that were done to the victims, they were not explicitly graphic and gory. I found this book on Booksprout. 5*

I am obsessed with Ditter Kellen. For the life of me I cannot remember how I found her stories but every time that I listen or read one I am completely happy. I have never read or listen to a bad story from her and fingers crossed we never get to that point.

This story is a very sweet love story about two people who have been through so much in their lives. Exodus is a fallen angel who succumbed to temptation. Nikki is someone who has always known that she is living with a ticking time bomb also known as her heart. I love the interaction between the two of them these individuals and I am glad that this was not an instant love story. These two dated and gradually fell in love and I am very happy about that.

I also really enjoyed the narrator. This is the first time that I've ever listened to anything that he's narrated and he did a wonderful job and gave Ditter the justice that she deserves within her book. I love the epilogue and I am happy that the line of their family continued for generations.

The only issue that I had was the person who was putting the diner in jeopardy. It was just a quick side note where I didn't fully understand who it was. I would love to have a little bit more detail about that and how the whole catching the person came about. I do understand that certain equipment was installed but it didn't seem like that was such a big deal aside from going to court.

I really want the series to continue I see that this is book one and I cannot wait to see who else falls or how Ditter can expand this series.

Exodus is an angel who was cast from heaven for sleeping with Delia who was from hell she had tempted him and it worked now he has been on earth for a thousand years and things have changed, Delia has been released from hell and Exodus believes that she will come looking for him to seek her revenge. Niki has taken over her grandmother’s diner it’s called Hazel’s Diner and the fridge is on its way out it’s that old it needs replacing but Niki doesn’t have the money for a new one so she’s going to have to get it fixed. Niki has a heart condition called Atrial Septal Defect it could be fixed in some people but in Niki no, Niki didn’t have a normal childhood she couldn’t go out to play like normal children now she has to go and take her medication so she goes up the stairs and she gets dizzy and she’s about to fall when she is caught by a man with a deep sexy voice. Exodus puts Niki on her bed she said pills so he brought them all in and once Nikki was feeling better she said thank you Mr Brooks but he said call me Exodus and Niki said like the biblical Exodus and he said yes but call me X. When Exodus caught Niki he could tell that she has a heart condition he wishes that he could fix her problems but he lost his powers when he fell but he decided that he liked Niki so much so that he bought a new refrigerator for her. This is just the beginning of this fantastic story I loved it and I highly recommend this book it’s well worth the read.

Torn is such a fabulous surprise for the heart and the ears! The pot is a true dream come true to a paranormal fan. Angels have always fascinated me and to finally find one in a story who is the main focus made me want to do back flips and scream. Not to mention that Ditter Kellen created this story, so I knew just how decadent and heartfelt this journey was going to be! I couldn't wait to get started, and wow did I fall HARD for these amazing characters! What a delicious story about following your heart no matter how broken or chained it is. If you can't live by your heart, then you will never truly live life to its fullest. Love surprisingly doesn't drag you down. Instead it never fails to lift you up and show you just how fulfilling life was always meant to be.

B. C. Kinnison was like a fine wine to my ears. I hung on his every word, and loved every second of his sensuous tone. He made these beautiful characters come to life with their enormous emotions and their huge hearts. He did a wonderful job in making me feel everything they went through. My heart had gone through the wringer by the time the story was over. I was happily a mess of tears and good feelings after the epilogue was spoken with conviction and hope. Paranormal fans will NOT want to miss this breathtaking story!!

What a lovely story! The hero, Exodus--who prefers to be called X--is a fallen angel biding his time on Earth while he awaits judgment because of one rather unfortunate indiscretion. Judgment time is almost upon him when a seemingly fragile young woman literally falls into his arms. X is a decent and compassionate angel (despite his fallen status). I love how X could appear a little bit jaded, but Niki's demeanor and ways could charm him in a way he never had been in his immortal life. Niki is definitely physically fragile because of her heart condition, but she has a tenacity and strength that is the core of her character. All of this is complicated by Delia, the demon who was at the heart of X’s indiscretion. This book looks at the choices that we make and the repercussions that those choices have. (By the way, the cover seems at odds with the X I came to know and love in the story. That isn't how I picture him at all, and really, not how he is portrayed.) A beautifully written supernatural love story.

I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.

This book is a page turner. Exodus, or X, has 2 weeks left of his 1000 year sentence on Earth for a transgression and will be judged. Into his life walks Niki, who has inherited a diner from her grandmother. Sparks start to fly between X and Niki. To add another layer, Delia, a demon and the one that caused X to be punished also is freed from Hell.

This book is, for the most part, well-written. Just a few criticisms. The subplot with Delia is given very little detail; almost like it was added on as a second thought. It would also be nice to have seen the scene where he was judged. Another subplot that was glossed one had to deal with someone embezzlement that the resolution was just tacked on.

The book sets up a believable wold and the characters were fleshed out to where you felt you could see them right in front of you. Definitely looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

I love how Ditter pulls you into her stories. I love her Enigma stories and Torn will be added to my list of rereads. I believe that Angels are all around us. This story really tore at my heart. The love of Exodus and Niki. Niki is trying to make her grandmother's diner a better place but her life is just so bleak. Niki suffers from heart problems and doesn't think she will ever have anybody in her life. Exodus is trying to redeem himself and when Niki and Exodus meet they feel that here is their one chance at love and forgiveness. I will continue to keep Ditter Kellen at the top of my authors to read list.

The angel Exodus only has two weeks left on his sentence on Earth, before he can return to Heaven. He just needs to stay clear from temptation a little longer. But perhaps temptation is what gives us purpose. When he meets Niki he starts to question where he belongs and his heart is torn from a heavenly existence to staying beside a terminally ill woman that he falls deeper and deeper in love with. This is a feel good story which gives you hope that the wold has goodness, that men can be all you want them to be and that life sometimes can turn out alright. It is a romantic tale to indulge in when you just want to crawl under the duvet and forget about the troubles in the real world.

The story evolve on a central theme which is as old as time. Exodus, an angel, fell down from heaven when he give in to his lust for Delia, a she-devil, but he was saved by his love for a human, Nikki. My favorite passage: “Exodus Brooks may have fallen from paradise, but he’d brought Heaven with him and laid it at Niki’s feet.” Sweet!

The author exercise her artistic talent by using the books in the Bible the angel’s name and “humanizes”. the angel characters in the story. I wonder what would happen to Levi for his action in saving Nikki.

This is the first story I have read by this author but I really enjoyed this short book. I felt she wrote Nikki's story really well, making clear how much she had been through with her health issues but without making her a victim. Exodus was a very worthy hero and I loved how thoughtful he was. I would definitely like to see more of Levi. A beautiful epilogue. I will definitely looking out for more of the series.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request, and have voluntarily left this review. Life isn't always easy being an Angel. Exodus fell from grace and was punished to live on earth for 1000 years. His time is almost up and he's looking forward to going home. And then he meets Niki, the new owner of his favourite restaurant and the road gets bumpy. Even though parts are predictable, it's done very well and you'll find yourself listening longer then you intended.
