Set in the Reacher Universe by permission of Lee Child The riveting series finale!
But is this really the end?
Or is it just the beginning...
15 October 2101
When Rock Wahlman wakes up and leaves the house that morning, he can’t possibly imagine the kinds of problems he’s going to be dealing with by that afternoon.
Problems that are beyond belief.
Problems that nobody in the history of the universe has ever encountered before.
A client accused of murder?
All in a day’s work.
Belligerent drunks in parking lots?
No big deal.
But the challenges that Wahlman will ultimately face on this day in history, and the decisions that he will ultimately have to make, are of the mind-blowing variety.
The kind that will change his life forever.
The kind that will make him wish he’d stayed in bed.
The Reacher Experiment concludes with an attack on Rock Wahlman’s family in which his wife and stepdaughter are kidnapped. The book recaptures much of the frenzied pace of the earlier novels as Rock goes all out to get his loved ones back. The only problem with the story is that it is not really a complete novella. Instead it is setting up Hardin’s next series about Rock and for some reason that bothered me when I finished it. It felt like this should have been the first book in that series, as opposed to the last book in the Reacher Experiment. That being said, I still enjoyed the novel right up until the last chapters when I realized what the author was doing. However, this might not be fair on my part. If I read it as the first book in the next series, I probably would have thoroughly enjoyed it.
Not as sure about this one and the time travel, might be great but could also become silly and a get out clause. As long as it is used to meet up with Reacher. I do like these books they feel like TV episodes and work well in the world of Reacher. Will wait for the next one and see where they go.

All right, the Jack Reacher Experiment is over and done. I had actually been looking forward to the end. Not so much because I disliked the books, more that I was just weary of the same storyline. Then, just when I thought the books might evolve into the mundane private investigations scenario, book number 9 opened up the aspect of time travel and the necessity of saving the real Jack Reacher. Now my interest was piqued once more and I will delve into Mr. Hardin's Reacher Code books. All in all this entire series was constantly hovering between two and three stars. As quick reads go, it was a great way to pass the time in a doctor's office waiting room or waiting for a bus.
Just when Rock Wahlman thought normality or some form of it had finally returned to his life, Casey his wife and their daughter has been abducted. In order for Rock to reunite with them he has to follow a specific set of instructions. He has to prove he still has what it takes to accomplish a mission they want him to undertake. It now appears there are more clones. But more importantly he has to travel back in time. Jack Reachers life may depend on it. An excellent read!!
Very interesting storyline to bring the first phase of the Reacher Experiment to a close and open a new Wahlman storyline. Look forward to seeing where it goes in the new series.
'Gone' was a good end to the series, or a good start to a new series. Not sure. As I've enjoyed the books in this series, each book was quite short. I do look forward to reading the next phase. A good add to your tbr list.
Wow... okay, this went in a direction I would NEVER have expected.... Even though this looks like the last in this series, it is clear that the story continues on and I see it is in another series, so I am looking for that book now.
The last in the series. They need to be read in order. Short books, like novellas. Good series. Binge read in a couple of days. If you like Jack Reacher, you will likkkke this.
Ok, now I get it as I already read Timestream 1,2,3 . I know you can read each book independently but it always makes more sense doing it in sequence. Glad that Wahlman save Mike Chilton. Good addition. 5
