I’m Meda, the oldest triplet born to the King of the vampires and the High Alpha of the lycans. Heir to the Collective throne. My sisters and I are used to being in the spotlight. Unfortunately, our birth also comes with a prison sentence.
Leaving the compound unguarded? Not an option.
Going to an out of state college was laughable.
My parents’ solution was to expand the Collective Academy to include a University—a whopping mile from home. My sisters and I are being allowed to live in the dorms, you know, so we’ll feel normal.
My fire magic takes a strange turn, prompting me to seek the help of an old witch friend. I haven’t seen Sterling in months and when he shows up at the dorm with his two best friends, a feral need uncurls inside me.
Sterling, Dorian, and Peter are my mates. Like true, fated mates. A complication I don’t need with my fire power on the fritz.
On top of everything else, I’m having blackouts where I lose hours, sometimes a whole day. I need to fix my magic, not worry about how to deal with new mates.
When students go missing and show up dead, the evidence points to me. Suddenly I’m beyond grateful I’ve got three intelligent men on my side as I try to prove my innocence.

I want to keep reading this, but it’s tell tell tell tell. And a lot of things I’m interested in get glossed over. Then we got a POV from the villain and I’m not a huge fan of that.
I started this and didn't put it down until I finished! The characters are great and so is the storyline. I love how different her family is, btw Poppy is awesome. The story moves fast and that was good though at the end I wish some things were expanded on more. I can't wait to read more!
Action packed, emotionally thrilling, exciting adventure filled with danger around every corner, heart stopping twists, dark secrets and undeniable passion... was an excellent read from beginning to end. Could not put this journey down and can not wait for the next one to begin.
Meda wants some freedom but her parents aren’t giving much. With her heritage, who can blame them. When she finds her mates, things start to get weird. Someone is trying to hurt her and they don’t care who they hurt to get to her. Excellent writing with a powerful storyline.
This was my first book by Lia and Hell Fire appears to be the first book in a new series, but apparently is a spin off from another series I haven't read. This would answer why I felt a little lost when I first started this, there seemed to be something missing in the story line that I had missed, and this explains why, even though it can be read as a stand alone, I feel like I have missed out by not reading the previous series - but when I got into it and got my head around their paranormal world I did enjoy it!
Meda is the eldest of the triplets, the hybrid daughters of the High Alpha and her 3 mates, not to mention the grand daughters of Lucifer and his wife, aka Poppy and Lillipad! A new college campus has been built for them to keep them safe rather than going to school in the human world, only a mile away from mum and dads! But the girls just want to feel normal and can't wait to do things for themselves, even though they are escorted everywhere by Sentinels.
On top of just starting college, Meda meets her fated mates, all 3 of them, and things start to get complicated. She starts blacking out and losing time, and other students turn into walking if live zombies. Someone has a grudge somewhere, and their new room mate isn't all she's cracked up to be either.
Good world building and introductions to Meda and her sisters, as well as her mates and all the rest of the other characters that appear in there, and there are a lot to keep track of!! I did enjoy the story, and its take on the PNR world of shifters / lycans / demons / witches, etc, but I felt it was a little too YA for my taste, even though there is some hot sexy scenes with Meda and her mates that are definitely not YA, the story line is a little too obvious for my liking.
But I did still enjoy it and look forward to reading more in this series.
The hybrid triplet daughters of the High Alphas Jillian and Kane and their Beta mates Voss and Quin are ready for college. However, their overprotective parents, not to mention their grandparents aren't going to risk their safety in the human world so they built a college campus for the paranormal youth of the world...about a mile from the house they grew up in. And they sent a small battalion of security guards to campus with them. Still, this is as much freedom as the triplets, Meda, Tala, and Ami have ever known. Meda especially plans to take every advantage of this chance to feel "normal". Too bad as the future High Alpha, her life just isn't meant to be normal. First, she meets her mates, then she starts blacking out and losing time, then other students on campus are doing their best zombie impersonations. Meda knows that if she tells her parents what is going on, her college experience is over, so she wants to solve these mysteries on her own. Sometimes, however, you need a little help!
This spin-off series featuring Jillian's daughters is fantastic. I love these triplet hybrids. This may have been Meda's story but it did introduce us to all the girls and set the stage for future books. Peter, Dorian, and Sterling are good matches for Meda and will definitely have their hands full with this powerful firebug. I love how close the sisters are with one another and their parents and I absolutely adore their relationship with Poppy. I enjoyed every second of this book. It's one you will definitely not put down once you start. It's entertaining and as funny as can be. Demon-drunk Meda is my favorite. She had me laughing out loud over her antics. I look forward to Tala's story with her security.
This is a spin-off of Covens End which I have only read Kane. I honestly didnt realize it was a spin-off until the confusion on some of the things I've read in here. I mean you could read it as a stand alone I guess but its clear we're missing some information. It would be better to read all the others in Covens End and then this one. This is about their children. Their 3 daughters. Each book though is about each one of their daughters. Meda, Tala, and Ami. Fire, water, and air powers. This is Meda's story and its interesting. I did find at times it was kinda all over the place. Its definitely YA which technically they are in their early 20s but they do seem to act like teenagers sometimes. That got annoying but honestly it was in the beginning. The beginning of this book was hard for me to get into because of it. It took some time and I did put it down a little bit for a break. I think I also had a hard time with Meda's character she's got some full of herself moments. I think she got knocked down a peg or 2 and was vulnerable when she couldnt control things. So, that was good. I think I wanted a little more story of her and her mates. We dont get a lot. I liked their characters though and they were all 3 different! Vampire, witch, and wolf. It was obvious who the villain was so that really wasnt a secret...it was drawn out sometimes and we still dont really have an end. So, its a cliffhanger but its not. Not a bad story though.
It was intriguing to enter into a spin off per say from another series where I had read about the parents now it is the kids turn. These three girls are going to prove to be quite interesting indeed with each coming into their own. Meda is the first one whom also is in tune with fire and takes us on the journey starting with going to college. But then the university is its own but their are a collective of others that go there also. The heat begins first with followed by drama that picks the curiosity factor. This will have a mix of things to keep a readers attention. Meda will face many challenges with also her hurdles and help will come from unexpected corners. When the story really heats up your head will be bopping and chuckles will ensue at some of the things that will pop out of her mouth. Also what started out as different for her parents will be make sense for these guys. By the time you reach the end of this one you will not be ready to leave and let go.
Absolutely love this book. I could not put it down. This is a spin off of the Coven's End series (which I loved) but I think this series is going to be better.
Meda is our main female character. Her sisters (triplets) Tada and Ami are also a part of the storyline. Something strange is happening to the college students on the first day of classes. Meda meets her true mates shortly after classes started. The strange things happening get a lot worse. It's up to Meda and her mates (Spencer, Peter, and Dorian) to figure it out and stop it.
Okay I have to share this because to me it's hilarious. 😂😂 Poppy’s (Lucifer) words rang in my mind, forever burned into my nightmares. "She will probably release it if she has an, uh. Oh, f***. An orgasm."The
•••••• I highly recommend this book/series! •••••• ~~ I have Kindle Unlimited, and I used that service to read this book. ~~
This was a hard Review for me to write. I liked the story and thought it was pretty cool to have a story with a hybrid with magic. I liked that there was a mix of the supernatural races, so basically everyone was represented.
I just felt like something was missing or maybe the plot was too obvious. I enjoyed Sterling and Dorian, but I want able to connect with amy of the characters, including Meda. I had issues with a few other things, but unfortunately they include spoilers.
This wasn't a bad book at all, I just felt like it didnt deliver what it promised. The blurb for the book mentions students disappearing and dying, but that isnt quite what happened. Again, spoiler and I don't want to give it away, but the details on that incident were essentially glossed over. Also, why does she have a sword on the cover lol??
This one follows the triplets in moving and going to college. We didn’t get much in the way of college life, as things progressed in a different way. One of the triplets finds love in unusual places, and a villain is hiding in the mist. I don’t think the plot is over though even if the book is done. It was left with a lot of open ended issues and not a lot of closure. Fair warning the book ends abruptly. Like I wasn’t sure if it was really the end kind of abrupt. That I wished was a little smoother and not so abrupt. Overall I was very pleased with how things were told of the now grown up triplets. We saw some visitors from past books. One other thing I wished had more explanation and written in more detail, is how the three were a couple before Meda came along. I didn’t think that aspect was a good throw in, bff for sure but to make them lovers as well, I wasn’t feeling it.
This book contains mature and strong sexual content. A unique perspective into the hierarchy of supernaturals, this book illustrates females with strong personalities and roles designed to help boost insecurities. These authors have wonderful storytelling skills. I appreciate that one of the triplets takes center stage as opposed to all three vying for the star role. A reverse harem scenario, the males seemed almost too extreme, either too subdued or too over the top. The scale concerning gender roles are definitely tipped in the favor of one side which is okay and I am sure written to be as such. I prefer a balanced scale however this book still rates well for book one of a series. All my reviews are always voluntarily written.
Hell Fire is the first book in the Academy’s Rise series by L.A. Boruff and Lia Davies, which is a reverse harem academy story.
Following Meda the eldest daughter/triplet of the High Alpha of the Lycans and King of the Vampires, so ultimately the Heir. Meda and her sisters have just started at the Collective Academy. Her story is filled with magic, adventure and action. Oh and finding her fated mates - Peter, Dorian and Sterling.
Love the action, characters and academy setting of this story. Can’t wait to continue with the next book - Dark Water.
Side note: this is a spin off series from the Coven’s End series. It’s not required to read this series first, but I would recommend it.
Meda is the oldest of the triplet sisters. Their parents are Jillian and her mates from the Coven's End series. In this book the three sisters head off to college which is just down the road from their protective parents. I loved Meda's story and her mates. This is an entertaining action packed reverse harem with strong characters that have intense chemistry, a mystery, danger, suspense, drama, humor, and twists that pulled me in and kept me reading nonstop until the final page. I recommend you read the Coven's End series if you want to read about the triplet's mother and her mates. Hell Fire is book one in the Academy's Rise Trilogy and I look forward to reading the next book. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
I need more from this collaborative pair as I absolutely loved this opener and need to read about the girls' parents as well. Meda is the eldest triplet born to lycan and vampiric parents therefore they are known as hybrids. Mom is the high alpha therefore making Meda heir to the throne. Her life is chaotic and all she wanted was to attend an academy and get out from under her parents. She gets the mating urge for three very different men. a magician, a lycan and a vampire. So hang on for the ride as her sisters and new mates face off with major problems.
I received a complimentary copy that I voluntarily read and had no compensation for my honest opinion.
I loved this book !! Mesa and her sisters are triplets, the most important triplets in the paranormal world. They have been smothered their whole lives so even though the college campus is a mile from their home they are happy to have a semblance of normalcy. Too bad things start to go wrong right from the start. Someone is messing with Meda, on top of that she meets her mates......all three. It’s a very easy book to read, it sucks you in so you don’t want to put it down. It does end kind of sudden so there’s not a real ending but it does make you want to get the next book instantly so you know how it ends
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest! This was a great book ! Meda is the oldest of the triplets. She had 3 dads, and 1 mom. Let's not forget she is a fire elemental. Some one is messing with her mind. She is having blackout. Not to worry, her mates are here to protect her. Sterling, Dorian, and Peter What can go wrong ? Loved the characters + the storytelling ! It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book! I can't wait for the next book in this series.
A fun and exciting first book in the Coven's End spin-off. This book features the oldest of the High Alpha and Vampire King's daughter, Meda. All Meda wants is to attend college and maybe experience a little freedom from her restrictive upbringing. What she gets instead is danger, intringue, and 3 mates?? She's not overjoyed at that thought but she's going to need everyone's help if she's gonna survive freshman year.
I received an advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or remuneration. I also read it in KU.
Wow! Super hot RH paranormal read. Literally I almost felt as if my kindle was burning up reading it-- and I loved it! ;)
What an awesome world that these authors created, I had not read the other books in previous series, but I did not feel as if I was missing anything. The world was described well and fitting and I was impressed how everything was thought up and had it's place in the book!
All in all, if you like 3 super hot and sexy men and 1 awesome and feisty lady getting it on in a paranormal world-- read this book ASAP!
A steamy, well-written paranormal read. Suspenseful with great characters. Media and her sisters are allowed to attend the University of the Collective Academy, a college for paranormal beings. Meda and her sisters are ecstatic to get away from their parents and lead a somewhat normal life. Meda is faced with strange happenings, blackouts, and the fact she met her mate......all three....in the first week of school. A great start to The Academy's Rise Trilogy. I can't wait to read her sisters stories.
I really enjoyed this story! It pulled me in from beginning to end and I loved the characters. This is a full novel and so we definitely get to see our characters developing in the midst of the action, intrigue, and building of a relationship between four people. I loved getting to see the sisters together as they try and figure out what this step into adulthood is like in the midst of still being close to overprotective parents and something wonky happening on campus and finding mates, when no one expected them this early on. I truly enjoyed this and will definitely be finishing this trilogy.
Super excited that we're getting spin off series of Jillian childrens. From what I read so far Meda is handful just like her mother was with her mates. Add it some action, intrigue, and of course steamy romance to keep you hook from beginning to end and you have a helluva of read. So looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
I was so happy when I found out that this was a spin-off of the Coven series. This book is the story of the future High Alpha Meda, the oldest of the triplets. They are starting a new supernatural college and there are some strange things going on. Will they figure it out in time? This was an entertaining and suspenseful story that I couldn’t put down. I can’t wait until the next one. Will it be Ami or Tala?
I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.
Jillian from Coven's End had a baby! Wait Jillian from Coven's End had Triplets and they are the heirs to the Vampire/Lycan throne yup because that's just what every girl wants to be when they grow up. This first book follows the eldest of the triplets Meda I have to say that this was a great story and I'm amazed that the authors were able to transition so easily. I had no problem becoming fully enchanted by the children that I almost forgot about the parents. I cannot wait for the next book.
What a fun and wonderful surprise this book was. I love that this is a continuation of the amazing Coven series. All of those characters I loved are on this book and Kane’s triplets, well one of them, is the star. She has a perfect personality to start off this series and I love the guys, as well. Once I found out the guys were bi, I was wishing for a little more m/m action, but I loved it just the same. Maybe I’ll get some in book two?? Anyway, I highly recommend this book!
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
I was dying to read this and I was not disappointed in my excitement! We get the first of the triplet's story in this start to a new trilogy. Their parents are those we know and love (at least those that have read the Coven's End series) making this extra special at least to me. The girls are going off to pretty much college though it comes with bodyguards, extra security measures, and so very much more. That doesn't stop the bad guys from going after Meda anyways though it is subtle enough to take a while to realize that. In the mean time she is nicely distracted by the discovery of her mates which is steamy to read to say the least. A great start to this trilogy full of magic, shifters, witches, and more that makes for a fantastic read. I look forward to the next installment. I really liked it so I give it 4/5 stars.
This story is pretty fast paced and ramps up fairly quickly. I got several chuckles out of this book and enjoyed the banter. There is a bit of a lack of world building but I understand that it's a continuation of another series so I get that there's a lot I'm missing as I haven't read it. While the girls are just starting their college experience and are young, it's definitely got too much explicit adult content to be a true YA. It's interesting and intriguing.
I was quickly caught up in the mystery of the sisters’ new roommate as well as Meda’s missing blocks of time and memory. The sudden influx of her mates was both a complication and a boon; distracting but supporting her in this time of crisis. It looks like there’s a lot more going on behind the scenes, so I’m looking forward to discovering what else the triplets will learn about what’s really going on.
