Maya is an advertising consultant at a big Chicago firm. Fate throws her life for a loop when Logan, a British transfer from the firm’s London branch, joins her team. He’s the excitement, her ten-year marriage to her college professor husband, Eric, has needed.

Logan at once sets his sights on Maya, but he doesn’t do affairs. Fortunately for her, Logan is polyamorous. After four months of intimate conversations and long hours working together, he convinces Maya to confront Eric and ask his permission to take him as a lover.

Maya is hesitant to confront Eric. For although she’s fallen in love with Logan, she’s still completely in love with Eric. Is giving in to her desires worth potentially ruining her marriage? Discover what happens when Maya brings Logan’s proposal to Eric, in the first ever episodic installment of The Taking Short Story Series, titled Taking a Lover.

LOVE IT - SO HOT!
It says something about a person who is willing to share you with another person if not to only make you happy but to change the dynamic to a marriage which seems to be somewhat mundane at the moment.
The sex scenes were hot and described as if you could replay them in real life, one of my favorite things about this story.
The anticipation of all them finally coming together and once it happens it is so beautiful to me.
One could only wish to have lovers like all of them. I would give anything to be Maya LOL
I am so anxious to see how their relationship turns out.
This is by far one of my favorite reads. It was very descriptive, enticing, well written and I could not put it down.
I want more of Maya, Eric, and Logan 😊

‘Taking a Lover’ is a fantastic, steamy short. It is a fun, excellent example of the start of a polyamorous relationship, with a focus on genuine affection, consent good communication. The characters are all distinct in their own way and the chemistry between them is off the charts. I am looking forward to reading more about the three characters as they move forward and face whatever challenges come up.

This is a beautifully written, sexy and respectful take on a healthy approach to a poly relationship that does not sacrifice any of the hot steaminess. Townsend strikes a delicate balance between the physical and emotional that makes the scenes all the more engaging. I'm definitely looking forward to more from the series!

Sauciest short story

Taking a Lover is amazing! I'm not usually a fan of short stories, because they leave you wanting more, but the way the author left this one was incredible. Will definitely be reading the rest of this series. I am already in love with Maya, Eric and Logan, and need to find out how their unique life progresses.

You won't be disappointed in this book, it will have you got under the collar, very enjoyable book, loved every minute of it xoxo

I highly recommend!

This is an amazing short story! Sexy. Hot. The characters all draw you in. Maya admitting her desires to herself, and Eric and Logan being absolutely perfect -- I promise you won't be able to put this down. Can't wait for more!!

strangely for a short book it seemed slow. the characters were polite to each other bordering on too polite.
i guess if you were trying for a relationship like this in the real world it would be good but kind of wanted it to speed up and be a bit more dirty.
had some so good sex scenes but could have had the volume pumped up a bit.
would checkout other books by this author
