So, F*ck Perfect was my favorite of the MindF*ck books.
I loved Bryce and Ava! Poor Bryce had so much drama for his few years but I appreciated every juicy bit. It was scandalous and sadly, not unbelievable; these are tough situations some do experience. Ava was the good girl who swooped in and provided the support Bryce was lacking and afraid to ask for. She recognized that although Bryce had a screwy past, it didn't define him. She wanted him to recognize that as well. She offered him happiness and comfort where he seemed to be accustomed to seeking comfort in physical pleasures and other vices. I loved the protectiveness both of these young characters possessed. Bryce was his sister’s champion and protector and Ava became his. Being a frequent reader of OOT alpha males & alpha assholes, Bryce was refreshing. He was definitely a guy’s guy and very whor…ah, promiscuous😏 but he was still likable and had endearing qualities.
I loved all of the other characters as well. Excuse me, most of them. I am not a fan of abusive fathers.
I WAS expecting more post high school story but I got over it quick enough and just enjoyed Ava and Bryce’s journey to young love and eminent disaster.
The editing…arghh! I’m so upset with the whoever edited Mrs. Wallace’s work for this series. There were quite a few editing hiccups in both books; words were missing and the mechanics were just off at times. I found myself rereading sentences and having to infer because something was missing. Sometimes the dialogue felt beyond high school kids; not the subject matter but the word choice. It was messing with me.
Hiccups aside, the story was humorous, drama filled, and tender. Oh! And hot. It was hottt!
Also, when Bryce visited Ava’s church and listened to her solo…I felt that.
