From the moment Senior Chief Petty Officer Cole Rodriguez lays eyes on celebrity-TV-chef-turned restaurateur Sinclair Fletcher, he prays his secret crush turns into something more. But convincing the elusive foodie, who keeps people at ladle’s length, to get on the same page might prove more difficult than a six-hundred-meter dive for the naval master diver.
Out of the frying pan into the fire…
Sinclair Fletcher’s a witch from a long line of witches. So capitalizing on a hundred-year old spell to launch a life-long dream isn’t a big deal. Too bad the spell comes with a major flaw: anyone who eats her food falls in love with her. For that reason, she doesn't allow anyone to step foot in her kitchen let alone her heart.
Her goose is cooked…
During one of the busiest weekends of the calendar year, Sinclair's spell goes haywire and everyone wants a piece of her. Will she be able to keep her secret or will she break all of rules in the strong arms of a certain petty officer?
Note: Each chapter of this book ends with a personal recipe provided by the author who was raised in the deep south.
READER WARNING: Something Witchy This Way Comes is a reboot of a previously published book released under the title, Cooking With Sin by a defunct third-party publisher. Besides a significant name change and a new cover, the story has also been extended.
Koko Brown is the pseudonym for a quintessential erotic romance junkie who once read over 200 Zebra Club novels the summer before her senior year in high school.
Koko’s writing career began at the tender age of nine when she self-published and distributed a newspaper to her fellow classmates. Unfortunately, her grade school school principal didn’t appreciate the competition and put her out of business after one best-selling issue.
Undaunted, Koko continued to write and read everything she could get her hands on. She honed her writing skills as a staff writer on her college’s newspaper, writing obituaries for the local newspaper, and teaching English to high school students.
One day while daydreaming in bed, Koko came up with the idea for her first erotic manuscript. Taking a hiatus from teaching, she had enough time on her hands to flesh out the story in two short weeks. A week later, she cleaned it up, then sent it to Ellora’s Cave during the Christmas holiday. By January she heard from one of their editors and by March (and many revisions) she signed a contract for her vampire novel Charmed.
Calling the east coast of Florida home, this multipublished author of interracial erotic romance loves to travel, shop in thrift stores, ride motorcycles, renovate houses, and volunteering.
This is a great addition to this series. Like the first book, this was a nice mix of paranormal romance and comedy. Again, I liked the fact that Cole was handicapped but it didn't stop him. I thought he was written really well. He wasn't the angry guy bemoaning his disability but he wasn't all roses and daises either. In fact, it does come in the way of their romance but more in a mixed signals kind of way than anything. And if you really think about it Sinclair has a disability as well, depending on her magic to get through life.
I really enjoyed the banter back and forth between the h/H and it built up to their finally getting together.
This book is way more unbelievable than the first in this series and not anywhere near as hot. It felt rushed. Main characters fell in so quickly it will give you whiplash. And what is it with the blond hair, green eyes? Surely a character with last name of Rodriguez could way least have dark hair and whiskey colored eyes. The physical description was ripped right out of book 1. It keeps with the whole rushed feel. Both main characters are replicas from book 1 and hastily thrown together in the most unbelievable fashion just to churn out another book.
Sin and Cole seemed really cute in the beginning, but I felt it all seemed a tad bit rushed. Cole's career in the Navy was interesting, I don't normally read armed forces based books. As far as Sin and Cole's relationship, I would've liked to see more development between the characters and within the characters.
Cole & Sinclair were a sweet couple in need of finding each other. I liked the chemistry of the two. It was good to be revisited by Rosalind & Ace. This too would make a great made for TV movie. I enjoyed the boo
I really enjoyed this book! The chemistry between Cole and Sin was smoking! There was a whole lot of sex scenes. The lasted extremely long. The storyline was too short, wish it was more to it before the end of story. I do recommend it you will not be disappointed.
I didn’t realize most of this book took place in one night. Like nearly half of it. It’s not really a bad thing just not what I was expecting.
Also it took me the hell out when he accidentally gave her the spell. Like girl was really just out here drugging people and then got drugged herself 😭.
I also wonder if anyone has ever tried these recipes. I kinda want to try them to see if they’ll make me fall madly in love and turn rabid 👀. Like I for real need whatever spell she was using because the streets are hard out here.
