Andrew Sayer is Professor of Social Theory and Political Economy at Lancaster University and previously lectured in human geography at the University of Sussex. His main areas of interest relevant to the DEMOLOGOS project are critical realism as a distinctive approach to social science analysis, cultural political economy and moral economy as distinctive interdisciplinary traditions, and uneven regional and urban development
