The story follows Manas and Rishi, two friends with different personalities. Although their lives were pretty simple, a sudden and unexpected jolt was about to wreck their lives and land them in a village named Vaghan. This turn of events will make the nightmare come alive. As they struggle to escape, the thread of reality begins to weakens.

When a series of murder rocks the village, a team of investigating officers along with the local law join hand to get to the bottom of the case. But Vaghan is a village shrouded in deep dark secrets, unwinding mysteries and age-old superstitions.

A gruesome and creepy read with lots of suspense and many more unexpected turns that will make your flesh crawl.

An apt title and by the middle of the novel, I realized that the important reveals were kept under wraps essentially building a crescendo in the end. Honestly the first few chapters made very little sense but thankfully around five or six chapters, the story took it's initial shape. Now I haven't talked much about the plot because I believe this book will be way more better if one goes in without knowing much about the story line.

I would recommend this book to readers who love to read extensive mysterious novels with a huge cast of characters.

I randomly picked this book up and it turned out of suspense thriller genre. I love suspense thriller genre and I read few pages and I was already into the book. The story opens up with kidnapping scene. Rishi found two people’s body caught with wires. It was Biradri and his son Bheem. Then story goes into little flashback to unfold the reason behind this scene. Rishi and Manas are two friends. Two friends caught in ghost village. Village was controlled by mortal gods. I guess that’s enough for the plot as it will be spoilers. Read the book to unfold further plot.
As I said earlier I loved the plot. It’s unique. I loved the way author has given slight fictional touch to the plot. The narration style is amazing. We can’t predict what’s going to happen next. There are lots of twists and turns plotted. The language of the book is lucid so that everyone can enjoy reading it. Overall good one. Recommended from my side.

Story begins with a guy who rushes out in the dead of night, anxious and petrified, stumbling across a gruesome scenario of brutal death. And then the story tumbles back to the Mumbai where a group of teenage guys jokes about nonsensical matters, clearly looking for trouble.
Things get a bit heated when Rishi, a quiet and shy guy from that bunch, hears a voice calling out to him from the mirror but as he looks around, he finds nothing and goes back to sleep without paying much heed . During his slumber, someone drags him to an unknown place and he sets off running. But then to our dismay, it turns out to be just a nightmare and he gets confused of his visions aboutan abandoned village that plagued his dream all the while. Why did Rishi dream of an abandoned village ? What the of the women’s voice that he heard ? Is there truly any significant connection between what’s happening and to all the unexplained horrible murder in the vaghan village ? Just back from a vacation, Rudra gets immediately appointed to solve this case before there is an upheaval. The story picks pace when Rishi and his friend gets into trouble with the cops and he is quiet troubled by the realisation that he might be afterall, possessed. What’s the mystery of the vaghan village ? We are gripped by anticipation and confusion as the story unfolds further. The cops are hell bent on uncovering the root cause of the murders while on the other hand, Rishi is still plagued by the nightmares. Then we get to meet the wizard who happens to be an absolutely revolting person and of her disgusting acts. This story evidently blows light on a pressing issue that we seem to ignore these days. Many of the people are still clouded with superstitious beliefs that hold no value and compare it to that of an almighty. What kind of horrors do they encounter ? their reasoning is disgusting just like those who commits condemnable acts of atrocity.
They say, past shall come back to hurt you. What could have possibly happened in the past that led to gruesome murders ? And are the dead ones innocent or can the justice served only through their death ? This story was a whirlwind of ugly murders and deadly secrets. Is there a really ghost behind the mysterious happenings ? Did the cop Rudra succeed in unravelling the secret and brought forth justice ? Or does he hides secrets of his own ? Read the story to find out. Very confusing if your attention falters but nevertheless a great read.

This book needs to be edited a lot more. The characters' dialogues don't have a period at the end of their statements, which was frustrating to read - this is basic grammar!

The story is quite dragged. The initial premise seemed creepily thrilling, there are two settings - the police force alerted to a string of gruesome murders in Vaghan, and a couple of fairly privileged and settled boys in Mumbai who are living their life - which soon intertwine. I was trying to understand how Rishi's nightmares and hallucinations would tie up with the murders. However, soon it was just ruthless killing and descriptions of how one family has vested interests in the entire village of Vaghan.

I'm wondering how this book has got such glowing reviews, considering that there are many other horror novels incorporating Indian myths and gods which are far better.

I ran out of breath while reading this book!
It is a spine chilling, tense, psychological thriller that keeps you at the edge of your seat. What I liked most about this novel is the narration. It was so gripping and crisp that I finished the book in a single sitting. The characters are very well developed and all of them were interesting to read. I just can't wait for the sequel! If I knew there would be a sequel then I would have read it later. The book cover is average and you can never tell by looking at it that the book has so much to offer. The suspense was there till the end of the story. The beginning few chapters were not so enjoyable. It is just an unputdownable book. One of the best thrillers that I have read by an Indian writer. Simple language has been used throughout the book. The characters are relatable and imperfect. Loved this one. Can't wait to read the sequel and more of the author's upcoming books. It never felt like a debut novel! I highly recommend this book to everyone out there.

The blurb caught my attention. A book with a ghost village was enough for me to read this one.A book that is full of thrill, mystery, horror and a book that has the capacity to keep you biting your nails because of the above factors. First few chapters are slow paced because it is giving you an insight of the story and characters I.e. both the friends and the villagers and then the pace is crazy with soo many twists and turns.
The writing style is commendable. The author has woven this story so beautifully that you cant even wait to think what will happen next you just cant. This book has ended on a high note so cant wait to dive in the sequel.

It's full of horror & suspense.

The sword on top of the title of each chapter is very spooky & eye catching.

This book talks about friendships, relationships, detailed action sequences, power in the hands of few who dictate the weak, visions, hallucinations, dreams, herbs & medicines, police, murders- worse than man-eaters, superstitions, horror, other realms, soul..and a lot more.

It's gripping, will keep you captivated, reading 1 chapter after the other on the the edge of your seat feeling like a roller coaster ride.

The story ends on a cliffhanger to give way to the next book in the series.

It is true that the story is basically what the title suggests―little suspenseful. This book will not only entertain the readers but also take in an adventure ride of some refining characters with the support of organised thrilling elements. I felt the writing was really good in some places.

Here, the book is something that you don't want to miss if you are a fan of thriller. But the pace is quite moderate and I felt it could have been better. Nevertheless, I liked its content comprised of a number of twist and turns to make it more interesting. Overall,it's an easy read for beginners as well.

Untamed origin is a psychological crime thriller which holds lots of nail biting suspense and mystery which keep you hooked till the end. Story starts with a very simple note of Manas and Rishi's friendship and it looks like some ghost or paranormal activities but soon story start getting pace and some gruesome murder happen in Vaghan village which appears like a deserted place and Rudra and his team took charge to solved these murder mysteries.but question arrives what is the connection between Vaghan village and those two friends.so it's an intresting and engaging read.i felt like some things are over explained in first some chapters which is not really needed, otherwise everything is good. A good read

Good page turner thriller but it loses its momentum towards the third act. I loved how there's a neatly drawn map of the village included at the beginning. The core of the book is about the blind social conditioning and importance of education in society. Rudra's character was very fleshed out compared to others. Can't wait for the sequel (if there's one coming out).
