Choose Your Fate #2

Saving Choice

Rate this book
Find your mate and choose your fate.

After a lifetime of struggling to exist within an Unseelie Fae community that doesn’t accept him, Tyler of the Wartroot Grove Clan is near death when a portal unexpectedly opens in his path. He falls into the human realm, only to hear his… heartsong? Fated mates are not only real, but he has one? Here? He’s confused, certain he must have died and crossed over. This must surely be a vision. But then a wolf lies beside him and begins licking his wounded face. Even stranger, the wolf shifter also seems to be the source of the heartsong.

No majicks or tricks, nor cheat or spell… conceal you’re Fae and hide it well.

The Legacy Warriors usually know what’s going to happen in advance. After all, being psychic has its perks. But they're caught off guard when Blake Muller from the Northern Lodge Pack, a museum curator who’s come to retrieve an artifact in their care, follows them to the portal and finds his mate in Tyler.

The Legacy Pack’s expectations are thrown aside with this couple. The entire situation is highly irregular, but what can they do? They can’t send Tyler back to certain death in his own world with his Unseelie bullies. There’s really only one choice they can make… send Tyler home with Blake for a month. The only rule? Don’t tell anyone! To keep the secret, Tyler is given the opportunity to choose a spirit animal. The fun begins with his quirky choice.

This is the second book in the Choose Your Fate series, which is the fifth series in the very same world that began with the Northern Lodge Pack. This 44k mpreg novel contains a lot of magic, fluffy feels, and many familiar faces from the previous series in this same world. Intended for readers 18+, every book in this series is a standalone. Grab a tissue and expect to tear up a couple times and also laugh until you cry. What else can you expect from Susi Hawke?

I'm a total fan of M/PREG Paranormal Romances, first and foremost as a reader. I'm excited to share my own omegaverse(s) with you. What's not to love about adorable Omegas and the Alpha men who love them? If I'm not writing about men sporting baby bumps, I'm definitely reading about them!

I'm a native of Las Vegas, NV, so I'm pre-wired to love everything weird ~ although I don't find any kind of love to be weird. I'm a cis woman who's been happily married to the same lovable lug for 18 years. We have a 16yr old son, well, at least I think we do? Either that, or we have a ghost that eats all our food and uses up all wifi playing xbox while screaming into a headset.

As a new author, it's been amazing to find the amount of support that I've been given from readers and my fellow authors. Feel free to message me, I love to chat with fellow readers. Am I a reader? Heck yeah! In fact, I'm never certain that I can completely trust an author who isn't a fellow bibliophile.

I will try to update here when I'm doing promotional parties & chats. I usually do those on Facebook. If you haven't already signed up for my newsletter, you should totally do it! I only send out NL's to announce new releases or important announcements. I also like to note in my NL what I'm currently reading along with a cover shot and the link for anyone who is interested.

I look forward to interacting with everyone here!

This series is definitely a win for me. 👏 Don’t get me wrong. I really liked the first book in the series “Healing Choice” But my, I really really loved this adorable book by Susi Hawke. 😍 Talk about the fluffy clouds, a swoon-worthy romance and adorable MCs. Loved it! 🥰

Tyler is an outcast Fae and always felt unloved and unwanted by his own family. And his only fault was that he was kind and helpful to strangers. And that’s a big no-no in his family. And after living a miserable life for millennia, his family has finally decided to get rid of him for good. Wounded and on the binge of death, he found himself falling into the wormhole that connected Human and Fae realms. And not only he was healed by legacy pack shifters, he heard something he thought he’d never heard in his life. His “heartsong”. 🥰 Blake grew up surrounded by loving family and friends. And in his opinion, his family is so loving that it’s on the verge of smothering. He loves his family but he also loves history and archeology. And he wants to be more independent and wants his museum to become better and more beloved by his people. When he gets invited to Scotland because legacy pack members wanted to donate him a priceless artifact, Blake didn’t look the gift horse in the mouth and jumped onto the plane at once. But may be more than a priceless artifact is waiting for him in Scotland. May be what’s waiting at the end of his plane right is his destiny. 😉

Loved it! 😍 Tyler and Blake are so adorable together. And the spirit animal Tyler chose for himself to disguise his true nature to Blake’s family is so awesome. 😊 A “sloth shifter”! 😱🥰😍 Only Susi Hawke would come up with that. And as always, my favorite narrator John Solo did a magnificent job narrating Tyler and Blake’s story. His Tyler voice was so adorable! 💜 Loved the epilogue and how they got their HEA. 🥰 And also loved the side characters from previous books. Already can’t wait for next book in the series. 😌

Second in Susi Hawke’s Choose Your Fate series, Saving Choice is the story of Blake and Tyler. Opening with a dramatic scene of Tyler being chased down by his family and tales of his ongoing abuse by them, it’s a near miss when he gets through the Legacy Warriors’ portal.

Stealthy and curious, Blake follows the Warriors and witnesses Tyler’s appearance. When the two recognize their fated heartsong it throws a real wrench into the Warriors’ plans! Only in Scotland to retrieve an artifact for his museum, they send the pair back to America and give them one month to see what happens.

As was the first book in this series, I found Saving Choice sweet and sensual and an all around good time. Susi Hawke spins a very compelling insta-love scenario, and when you add in the fun of Tyler’s spirit animal choice it’s extra adorable.

Narrated by John Solo, he does a marvelous job with the voices. There are a large number of characters in this story and he’s got a different voice for each of them. I always enjoy his creative female voices, and his charm and sense of humor flow through this one.

Both men have interesting back stories and the details Ms. Hawke includes on the fae/brownie/mystical elements are fascinating and quite clever. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.

A cute omegaverse, though the plot was a little dull. There was no falling in love, just instant couple. Way too much info on sloth farts too. What I did l Iike was that this book explained a fair bit about the Legacy lore. I never read those books so I appreciated that.

3,5*

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-
Away-book like
‘Jesse's Smile' or ‚Joey’ from Angelique Jurd,
‘Save the kids' series from EM Leya,
‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or
'Liberty' from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a
WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises
(like most of Andrew Grey books and
Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few
times a year (most romances where you can
enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader,
maybe 2-3 times a year. It’s like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-
reader (i wouldn't recommend it heartily, but
it was ok). It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too
many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an
absolut NO-GO). It's like failure in the whole
line, dismissed, repeat the class

*WARNING* contains explicit sexual situations
Tyler is the unseelie his family hates. Tyler went against his brothers to save the life of a brownie and he knew he was going to die for it. Tyler didn't die, a magical door opened up and dropped him in the Earth realm.
Blake loved his pack, but sometimes he would like to be alone. Blake got an odd call from old from while his museum was being fumigate and was asked to fly to Scotland. Blake was out of work for a week and looking for some time away, so away he went.
This story was extremely sweet (mostly). I like most that the main characters had pretty much exact opposite family lives, the alpha of the couple was the one who had the least self confidence. The story itself is really just a telling of how these two got to know each other. There really is no bad guy, no real conflict, the couple had all the info from the beginning.
I think this story was okay and it was edited well.

Sweet and gentle story of finding your heart-song. I loved the story-line and how the plot really brought Tyler and Blake to life for me. The goodness of their hearts and the love of Blake's huge family/pack really created a fun journey. I also really liked the history that was told through-out the story, i really enjoyed the world-building and depth of character development that we get to experience in this world. The idea of a museum curator was such a fun character to develop.

Tyler and Blake's characters made me laugh and shed a couple of tears as they found their way to love and forever. I love how Blake could accept all of Tyler and was so intent on making sure that Tyler knew he was perfect the way he was.

This is the second book in the Choose Your Fate series and it can definitely be read as a stand-alone story.

Favorite past characters reappear

We get a glimpse of the past as the mc"s in this is the grandson from the originally northern lodge pack alpha and omega .
We get to see glimpses of the lives the pack has lead since we last visited with them .this story shows that we are more them the outer shell and others preconceived ideas of how we should be where else would an unseelie get a second chance at life and love .
Again another great continuation of a series . If you have never read any of Susi Hawkes books I readily suggest pick up any of them but even though they could be read alone I suggest starting with the first one of whatever series you decide to try

This was fun. Blake, omega wolf museum curator lived among his family's pack. He longed for a more solitary peaceful existane above his museum, but he lacked the funds. Tyler, alpha unseelie with a compassionate disposition, didn't fit in with his family who lived more on the dark side of their fae ancestry. Blake, was given a heads up of a potential artifact by Aaron and Toby, Frankie and Liam's grandsons who invited him to Scotland. While there, Blake and Tyler meet and are presented with a challenging option that will potentially change their lives. Their courtship was fun and Tyler's introduction to family was heartfelt. I had to google sloths. Good story. Well done.

Whoever said romance isn't educational... has NEVER read a romance novel!

This book was like an episode of Animal Planet. Just as soon as Tyler chose his "animal" I was off to Google it, and can I say the videos are just adorable!

As with the first book in this series, the story was low angst except for the "chase" scene at the beginning. We did get a small scare near the end, but all ends well! I think the reason I keep coming back to this author on a regular basis is for the "happy" feeling I get every time I finish one! Sometimes we just need that little bit of pick-me-up to get through real life!

Now, it would appear that we have to wait for book #3... *sigh*

Another fun series from Susi! Wolves and Fae an interesting mix.

There are lots of smiles, a few sad tears, an interesting twist or two, and lots of love and kisses. You will find a little majick of the ancient kind that brings about changes for a deserving Fae and their heartsong. The loves that blossoms is full of joy with a little intrigue added to the mix for good measure. You can just picture the characters in you mind from the descriptions given by the author. She has created a new world to live in.

I adored this book, it gave me all the fluffy feelings!
I loved how Tyler is bigger than Blake in his usual form, and as the alpha he takes care of Blake; but then when they shift, Blake being a wolf and Tyler an adorable, grinning, cuddly sloth, it's Blake who's bigger and protects Tyler.
I loved the side-characters, too, especially Grandpapa Kai, and the story is so cute that it left me smilink like a loon.
John Solo's narration was autstanding and added an extra layer of greatness to the book!

Great gay paranormal romance

I loved this book so much better than the first. Both have HEA with mpreg , lots of love between mates and the chosen families. But in this book we have all the characters from the very first series updated and well loved by this reader. In this book we have a kind fae escaping certain death by falling through the portal and meeting his mate, an omega wolf. The alpha fae chooses the least scary shifter, a sloth as his form in this world and so begins a wonderful relationship.

Blake and Tyler

Got sad, laughed out loud, got happy and laughed some more!! Not sure if I can look at glass showers the same way. Found out I must be part sloth (or wishing I was) :). Susi Hawke hit it out of the ball park with this book!! Loved how the Legacy crew had a bit more to do with the characters than last time. Bringing Taylor and the other Alpha/Alpha mates back was awesome!

Mmm, Mmm, Mmm!!!

I loved this book. It was so beautiful. I had been waiting on Blake to get his own book and now he has and it was perfect. Tyler was the perfect mate for Blake. They balanced each other out perfectly. I'm glad that Tyler got the loving family that deserved. Also it was so nice revisiting the original pack where it all started.

I really enjoyed this shifter story especially since I've never read about a sloth shifter. Tyler and Blake make a great alpha/omega pairing and I love how Tyler, the alpha, is so caring and protective with Blake. It's a super cute story with a great narrator who did a great job with this one. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

Mostly OK

The storyline has its moments but this book does not leave the same impression that book 1 did. There’s not much of a plot, things just happen. Mostly I’m just glad to be done with it.

Fabulous

I wonderfully and endearingly written follow up to Book One. There's more of the Lodge and Den members in this story. Safety or immortality, a difficult decision? Find out. I hope there will be more.

Another lovely sweet story in this series with the key theme of family and fated mates. The twist this time was Tyler chosen animal. Of all the animals in the world to choose, I would have never ever thought of such. But it really worked for this story.
