An edge-of-your-seat crime mystery so action-packed you’ll find it impossible to put down. Investigative reporter, Samantha Bell, wakes to the worst news of her life. As shots ring out at a local high school, Samantha is thrown into the crosshairs of the biggest story of her career. Determined to learn why a young man declared war on innocent children, she is relieved that her son was lucky enough to make it out alive. Now it’s game on to set the record straight. Four daring women face-off with a ruthless sniper who is terrorizing the city of Denver. With all hands on deck, Samantha and her three crime-solving girlfriends set out to find who was responsible. Danger is hot on their trail as what began as a hate-crime suddenly appears to be something much more terrifying. There wasn’t one shooter, but two, and the second is still on the loose and targeting cops. A riveting whodunit thriller that will leave you feeling breathless until the very end. Wanting to protect her family and friends at all costs, secrets from Samantha’s past nearly destroy her efforts. And when she links the murdered victims to her dead husband, she knows her clock is ticking. Attacked from every angle, no one close to her is safe. When the city is about to erupt into a full-out riot, Samantha does everything she can to stop the sniper before another innocent victim is killed and she loses the city she loves forever. If you like Melinda Leigh, James Patterson, and Robert Dugoni, you won't be able to put down the pulse-pounding Samantha Bell series.

Thrilling story.

A single event changed the life of Samantha Bell and she is determined to do something to change it. She and her friends get together to solve the matter and that is the crux of the story.
The characters were amazing and the plot moved at a steady pace never slacking anywhere. The narration was very enjoyable and kept me hooked. Liked it.

I read several glowing reviews before I purchased this book. I honestly wonder what causes readers to give 5 stars to such a pedestrian book. Pages and pages of expressions which were totally outlandish. Plus bad English! Such as I grinded my teeth and he grinded his teeth and instead of ‘I would never’, it became ‘I wouldn’t ever’. The storyline itself wasn’t too bad but too much angst by the characters was more than I could handle. And if I read another book where the characters chew the inside of their cheek, I’m going to scream. The last 6 books I’ve read have someone chewing the inside of their cheek. Do you know someone who does that??? Will not read this author again.

How fast would you drive if your child was at school and the news of a shooting suddenly hit the news waves? In Samantha Bell's case, it's pretty darn fast. What seems like an isolated tragedy quickly unfolds into a much more complex and deadly scenario.

The story itself had a great outline, but it took a long time to get there. And, I have to admit, I had reservations when I saw that this book would be a male author writing in a primarily feminine voice. For the most part, the author managed to pull off this feat but there were places where it was easy to detect once you were in the know. I don't want to spoil with too much detail but there was a scene close to the end in which Sam uses terminology that didn't fit the character. This occurred in other instances, but the specific event caught my attention. Additionally, some phrases were used repeatedly and could have led to a great drinking game - "pumped/hit the brakes", "whipped her head around", "jiggled (in some form or other)".

Much of the subject matter of this book is polarizing - especially now. A story that was written more than a year ago has suddenly become the news we live. Kudos to the author for not pressing his point of view and allowing the reader to form an opinion independently.

Tedious

This is one of the books you just want to be over. There was no excitement or anticipation that compels you to get to the solution. Rather just marking time and checking to see what % of the book you have finished.
It was also filled with words and phrases that are either awkward
or incorrectly used. For example “rolled my neck” or using “blew out my own hot air” instead of exhaled, “released” instead of “relaxed.” The word smirk was constantly used incorrectly (many mystery authors do also for some reason.). A smirk is a smug smile which is irritating, a negative word. In the book he uses it for positive situations such as “I smirked, so happy to see him.” These were used repeatedly and boringly.
I give up on this series.

Absolutely a page turner. Samantha Bell and her friends have a real thriller on their hands. What could easily turn into a racially charged murder mystery has many twists and turns. It’s something every parent fears and you are put right in the middle of everything. Once this book is finished you just want to keep reading the next book. Can not recommend this author enough. Excellent writing skills!

I am so thrilled to have discovered this writer. By page 3 I realized I had better start dinner in the crock pot because this would be a one day read and it was! The author was captivating! His familiarity with police work, death, love and rebuilding lives brought tears to my mind. I have already purchased the remaining books in this series and encourage you to join me!

Good flowing story

The book is a well planned mystery thriller that keeps the reader guessing.

I like that the book focuses on two big issues in today's world: shootings at American schools and the racial divide that occurs all over the developed world.

The story moves forward well but for some reason I did not connect with the story and find it hard to put down.

There are quite a few characters but they are all well described so it is easy to keep track. I did guess the killer incorrectly. Disappointingly when the killer was revealed the surname meant nothing to me and I was thinking I'd have to flick back and work out the connection.

The end is well paced. The quality of the writing is good, I can't remember noticing any errors.

I would read more from Jeremy. Good, just not edge of your seat good.

#2 BELL HATH NO FURY by Jeremy Waldron. So glad I bought this set of books when offered by author. Samantha Bell is an investigative journalist solving crimes. Her boyfriend is a detective and her 3 best friends are all involved in solving the crimes. This book is about a high school shooting that looks on the surface like a racist attack but turns out to be much bigger. It grabs the reader and doesn’t let go until Sam and all have found out the person or persons responsible. So glad I found Mr. Waldron.

In all fairness, I gave up reading this after 52% because I just couldn't take the descriptive adjectives and expressions that were overly dramatic or weird like "hip flared", "calves tingled" "insides tied a knot". AWKWARD. There were so many that they distracted from the plot which had promise. It was as if the author had been told he had to use every adjective in the dictionary whether they "worked" in the sentence or not. Most likely I will not read this author again.

I did not enjoy this book. With all the hand-ringing , throat compressing, pen chewing, leg tapping, knees wabbling, falling to one's knees, and getting sick, the reader could not help but get sick along with them. And I thought journalists wrote articles and published them. It seemed the main character had no time to write anything because she was too busy running around town and trying to solve the murder. I wish I hadn't started this book but once I started I had to finish.

Waldron has knocked it out of the park with this one!

I read this one with my heart in my throat! The story it tells of bigotry, racism, and evil, is plucked right out of our daily experience, and is heart breaking.

The characters I came to love in the first book of this series are now the intended victims.

Can Samantha put a name and a face on this evil before his kill list is complete?

Don't miss Sam's latest challenge!

Realistic !

It was like reading the front page news...school shootings-still going on - kids with issues that they don’t know how to deal with...People with racial issues, police issues... The way you wrote the story, put things in perspective so that readers would understand reasons behind the actions, is awesome .Great job! I really enjoyed the story !

I enjoyed the book! Author Jeremy Waldron brings to light many aspects of society, the secrets that are held, and the consequences of one's past. Well written, the characters are believable; the plot very realistic in our current times. The book is well worth the read. Thanks for setting it in Denver!

There's been a shooting at Sam's sons school and racial tensions are at an all time high. Sam looks into to the crime to find out why her son was a target of the killer. Another great story from the Pen of Jeremy Waldron. It is fast paced and hard to put down. Looking forward to the next installment

Another great read

This book was an emotional and dramatic read. Samantha was thrown into another mystery when there was a shooting at her son's school. The characters were skilfully crafted to provide some unexpected, twists and misdirection. I was impressed by the suspense and duplicity which ran throughout the story.

She doesn’t give up

Sam is on a mission as her son survives a school shooting. Her and her friends are strong characters who don’t give up or play by the rules. I can’t wait to get reading the next book.

Great read, I am invested in Samantha Bell. I love the way the ladies look out for each other and are willing to do whatever is necessary to help each other. This was an interesting read given our current events of 2020. I have already purchased the next book in series.

A drama that is not likeable

The Sam character is a reporter, police informant, and an insider for the interests of news media. Once again, the detective leaked case development to Sam before to his casa partner because Sam is his girl friend. Disgusting.

This was an unusual read for me. Instead of focusing on the story I was watching for the author's many descriptive phases, Almost on every page. there were what I felt awkward words describing a thing, place or action.

Another good story in the Bell series...

Samantha Bell is becoming one of my favorite characters. She is spunky but realistic as a reporter, mom, friend. The story had good twists and once again led into the next book so that I have to go straight to it!

Loved the main characters. Lots of drama. Kind of neat that they have a circle of friends who have each others back. Loved the romance and can't wait to read the next book.

Hate May Never Die

Choices made 20 or so years previously come back to haunt Samantha Bell. We learn more about her first husband Gavin. We also see how people who hate can manipulate others to believe as they do. I couldn't put it down.
