I'm not your typical medium. The kind portrayed on your favorite television shows. The spirits who visit me aren't interested in reuniting with loved ones. Nope. The spirits I connect with have sought me out for one thing and one thing only: justice. A task that would be easier if I were a homicide detective instead of a twenty-three-year-old wannabe journalist with a love of hot romance novels.
Now, the spirit of Andrew "Drew" Foster is here, and he's desperate for my help. Drew was convicted sixteen years ago for the murder of real estate agent, Margo Stolper. A crime I'm not so sure he committed. It turns out Margo may not have been completely honest in her dealings, and even worse, I think she was a medium just like me. Was she killed because people knew about her gift?
With a possible medium murderer on the loose, I need to be extra cautious. But justice must be served, and if Drew wants to rest in peace, then we need to clear his name. The problem is I've made many enemies over the last few months. Well, just one. Sheriff Vance, the most powerful man in Fernn Valley. He's not about to let me unravel the only murder case he's ever solved. Not without a fight. I'm ready, though. At least I thought I was. There's a twist to this case even I didn't see coming.
If I'm not careful, exonerating Drew just might be the last thing I do.

I absolutely have a new favorite author! These books are incredible! I stayed up three nights in a row reading this series laughing my butt off! Seriously, I can’t get enough, so sad there isn’t a fourth out yet! This book has everything, mystery, humor, romance, you will LOVE it!
Zoe: “No, I’m a medium,” I say. “You came to me because there’s business on earth you need to tend to before you can move on.”
As stated above, Zoe Lane is a medium. Dead or nearly dead people go to her for her help, but things aren’t always as they seem. Actually, they’re exactly as the ghosts say they are, but Zoe prefers making things more complicated by digging around for clues where there aren’t any and making mountains out of molehills.
And she’s so neurotic! I did notice she was a bit calmer in this book. I think my heart raced only a few times instead of several like in books one and two. Could be that I’m just getting to know her better now and if this is true, books four and five and the remaining will be just fine and won’t affect my anxiety level at all. Yay!
This book was about Drew’s spirit. He appeared to Zoe to ask her if she’d find his hat he’d been wearing when he died, but all Zoe could do was pretty much ignore his request and ask endless questions about the woman that Drew killed. Well, that he allegedly killed.
The woman was Margot and Margot gave Zoe messages that Zoe misinterpreted. Zoe thought the messages were for Mike, but she later discovers they’re for someone else but that Margot did leave a message for Mike - just not the one Zoe thought was for him. Did you get that? No? Ya, that’s kind of how it is trying to keep up with Zoe’s thoughts. Lol.
Zoe finds out something pretty cool about Mike and that’s before Mike does something for Zoe she’s never had anyone do for her before. More of Zoe’s past is discussed and part of that past actually helps Mike bend his future. Gosh I wish I could just tell you instead of this cryptic talk, but I don’t want to give away any spoilers because you need to just read these books yourself!
Team Mike!
All in all, I guess I’ll give this 5 ⭐️ this time - an extra ⭐️ than my usual 4 for Zoe not annoying me like she usually does.
Next is Book 4 “The Marvelous Ms. Medium” and when the heck is Zoe going to finally tell Brian about her gifts?! Honestly, Brian has blind faith in Zoe. That’s kinda sweet.
Loved this book. Each book in the series gets netter & better. This one is my favorite. What I really liked is that we get to see Zoe grow a lot in this book. Loved the character Drew, he was a hoot.
Zoe can see dead people. This is a well thought out mystery with lots of twist. I'm a new fan of Erin Huss after reading the first three books of this series. The humor is an added bonus.
There are a whole lot of things that get explained and that come to light in this book. Very exciting and laugh out loud funny! Zoe Lane is a kick in the pants and a delightfully hilarious character! I am truly enjoying this series and look forward to reading the next book!
This is book three in the Lost Souls Lane Mystery book series and follows the main character, Zoe Lane, as she sees yet another dead person. She is a medium, but not quite like the mediums you would usually think of, who holds séances and pass on messages from the dead. She was home-schooled and led a very sheltered life after apparently burning down the family home at about four years of age, trying to make a snack for the ghost of a death sentence criminal. Her parents were obviously concerned and thought she had any number of mental health issues. Really, it was just that she could see dead people. The only spirits she connects with though, want something from her – justice.
Until her current, and first ever, job at the local newspaper, she hadn’t had any incidents since being a child. Each of the books in this series deal with her interaction with a new spirit or dead person, who needs something solved before they can move on. In this book, the dead person she sees is a young man called Andrew Foster, who was accused of murdering a real estate agent called Margo. He was high on drugs all the time and can’t remember what happened. He was breaking into lots of houses to feed his habit, at that time. He finally got out of jail after some sixteen years, but died shortly after.
He keeps asking her to find his hat and often doesn’t make much sense. A possible side-effect of all the drugs he was on at the time. She receives a message from Margo, say ‘he wasn’t to blame’, but it is not clear if this refers to Andrew (Drew) and means he didn’t kill her. If he didn’t, that means someone else killed Margo and Sheriff Vance won’t be happy. The arrest of Drew, for the murder of Margo, was the only case he ever solved. Now she was going to have to prove him wrong and she definitely wasn’t his favourite person!
Sheriff Vance is one of the most powerful men in town and it seems there may be more to Margo’s murder than first thought. She might also have been a medium herself! What is someone trying to keep secret? Which of her real estate deals led to her death? As usual, Zoe is putting herself in danger, to gain justice for the dead and allow them to pass over peacefully. This time however, her wires may be more crossed than she thinks. Her love for her boss is also mixing up her emotions and thought processes, even though she knows he has a girlfriend.
A great mix of supernatural senses, with dead people only appearing to Zoe, her strange upbringing and that she has no-one she can really share things with. Gives a good bit of amusement to the read, with all the odd situations she gets herself into, especially as she is not very wise in the way of the world. Each book can be read as a standalone, as each tells the story of the one spirit that appears to Zoe. I received an ARC copy of this book from the author and have gone ahead and bought the whole series, they are such fun to read. I would recommend it to all who enjoy a bit of the supernatural. I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
An animal ghost whisperer and a medium walk into a bar ......
A decent read but just wish she had mare confidence in herself. Take a ghost, add a missing hat and a arsonist for a hot view on a murder. The characters are evolving except our heroine who seems to have gotten stuck. When a ghost appears wanting to find his hat she gets sucked into a murder that happened years ago. Was the ghost the murderer or was there more to it than that? She and a work colleague are assigned you write a piece on the dead woman in remembrance. Why is his father so set against anyone finding the remains of the dead woman's belongings? Why is the Sheriff haunted by the image of a small child and making her family's life unbearable? Hidden diaries, a hidden account, arson and a speed car chases ends with her arrested. Is there anyway of clearing her and her colleague's name?
Zoe Lane is a medium whose spirits tend to have been murdered or are searching for justice. When spririt Andrew "Drew" Foster shows up Zoe isn't sure what to do. Drew was convicted of murdering Margo Stolper sixteen years ago, and if that doesn't complicate things already, Margo appears to Zoe and says "he didn't do it". This case isn't going to be easy for Zoe, especially since Sheriff Vance doesn't seem to like her much and some of the new suspects have it out for Zoe too.
I loved this book so much more than the first two. This one did feel a bit more fast paced, with tons of information being thrown at you but Erin Huss brings it all together fantastically. I look forward to reading book four, and hope there are more planned because I'm not ready to say goodbye to Zoe just yet.
This is the third book in the series, and both Zoe and the books are evolving nicely! Still making humorous mistakes, Zoe is no longer the totally confused rookie she was in book one when she helped Willie. This time she gets a few major details wrong, but learns some spectacular new things as well. And then there's her new mug shot and arrest... Humorous yet caring, Zoe Lane has a strong moral compass, and can be counted on to do the right thing. A great cast of characters compliment this series, making it a delight to read!
I enjoy the books in this series. I love the humor in the narrative and and sheer awkwardness of Zoe. The idea of solving mysteries for dead people is unique when it is the dead person that asks for investigations. There are quirky characters which make the stories more fun. I didn't figure out the whole mystery a head of time though I suspected there was some fault in that person. And I'm really glad that person was caught as it is not a favorite character for me. I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Sex: kissing Language: some, mild Violence: a little
On, so i just got done reading books 2 & 3 this evening. I really enjoyed them. This mystery was harder to figure out and did have a surprise but happy ending. Again I laughed while reading it. This story was a little more complicated with her spirit friend but i did enjoy having a past spirit appear. Enjoy
So Zoe, this time, is dealing with a spirit of a person that was convicted of killing someone that he says he didn't kill. Then there's continued problems with Sheriff Vance, an attempted murder and a guy that sees the spirits of dead animals. As usual a lot of problems for Zoe to solve. Another pretty decent book in the series.
ONG! This was great I was so stressed, anxious and couldn’t wait for the next line. I love this series of books and recommend them highly . You will get stress, tension , humor and an abundance of laughter. I have found myself smiling while reading. The characters are great and Zoe and now Mike make quite the team with their various abilities .
I have such a weakness for Zoe Lane. As a lead character she is adorable and I love her books. After three books, I can usually start seeing a pattern in the writing and they become predictable. So far, not this series. New characters get added and they just add to the entertainment value. The stories are fun but keep you guessing. Very entertaining!
I LOVE your Medium books Erin. This book made me laugh numerous times. Drew is the spirit that enters Zoe's life this go around. He is determined to find his hat. Zoe is determined to clear his name. There's a secret about Sheriff Vance and Mike that comes to light in this book. And the antics of Zoe finally puts her in cuffs and in front of a judge.
This third book in the series was a great mystery as well as excellent character development. I didn’t see the big reveal coming at all. The humor is great and the length is perfect. People who like amanda M Lee, Tonya Knapp would enjoy this series.
The author has done a splendid job of moving the characters and the plots forward with each book. A series best read in order, and so worth the reading!
I am so in love with this series and I can not wait for more! I read this book in one day, I promise you will be on the edge of your seat with all the twist, turns and oh the humor! 😍
This series is really entertaining, I'm constantly laughing and shaking my head. A very cleverly written story with characters I can't help liking. I think I'll miss Zoe when Erin Huss decides to finish this series.
I allllllllmost didn’t make it through this book. It was touch and go there because I don’t like nasty bad guys, but as it turns out, I made it through and glad I persevered. Recommend? Yep.
I enjoyed the book, it's good clean reading. I'm ready for Zoe to grow up a little more. Also it's time for her to date. I think I'd like to understand jabba the car better. Anyway I've read 2 books so far and look forward to the next one!
I I’m really enjoying this series. Really nice character progression. They are enjoyable characters and good storylines. I wish Amazon didn’t make me come up with words I didn’t have just to be able to write a review appreciating it though
Quirky, funny and interesting. The characters are interesting, hard to believe that a young woman could be in her twenties without having any social life at all, but allows her to be so innocent and unknowing
would definitely recommend this series. I like it. The third book is better than the second one, but you should definitely read them in order. Good stories with some laugh-out-loud moments.
Ok so if you are here for the romance you will be disappointed, but it’s still a great story. It reminds me a lot of the Medium series by Meg Cabot. It’s definitely more mystery/ humor than romance. It’s super funny and cute though.
I officially love this author. Her ability to use Witt and comedy in weaving a mystery story is amazing and well done. I have read three books in the last two days but can't wait to get my hands on the next book!
I like the twists and turns in this book. It also ties up some of the story lines that have been building. I enjoyed this book. We find out the backstory on Mike, one of Zoe's coworkers.
Each book in this series just keeps getting better. This one contains a mystery, a murder, and a coverup with more than a few dead people to help. Most entertaining story. Highly recommend. Enjoy
