When you’re young, that’s a time to handle business and have fun while doing it. As far as love goes, you can decide on that later. Ashahve Glasper has that figured out too. She knows what she wants out of life in all aspects of it. She’s attending the local university for her chosen career path when she discovers that she knows what she wants out of love as well. There is only one problem; he’s one of her professors. She does everything but tell him when it comes to her infatuation, making her interest in him known. Just when she thinks things are progressing the way she wants them to, yet another man crosses her path. She wonders how she can feel something for two men at once.
Love doesn’t have an age, as long as she’s legal. That’s Elijah Coleman’s standpoint. After having a tumultuous engagement to a woman that he thought was the one, he’s given up on love. That is until Ashahve graces his classroom. Although it had been years since his engagement, he’d never had the desire to move on. Ashahve does something to him, though. Just her aura captures him. Starting a relationship with his student would be against the code of conduct for the university and that is the only thing that is holding him back. Will that be enough to keep his emotions tamed?
Life is hard already, but some circumstances can make it harder. After getting a medical discharge from the military, Omari “Rich” Watson decides to go to school to make something more of his life. He has a daughter to take care of and help raise. After he’s left reeling from the death of his mother, his life seems to be at a standstill and he shuts everyone off from his love, including the mother of his daughter. The only one that can reach his heart is his little angel until he notices Ashahve. A chance encounter at school, gives him an opportunity to shoot his shot and he has no intentions of missing.
So many decisions to be made. This triangle is going to leave someone hurt, but who will it be? Or, will all of them lose?
Starting with poetry, writing has always been a constant in Monica's life. The interest began in her teenage years, being in love for the first time. Her love for writing has only progressed. Song lyrics and poetry led to short stories, then one day in her down time, a short story became a 56k word novel. It has been non-stop since then. Being a wife and mother, has only added to the joys of Monica's life. Attaining a BS in Sociology, helping her better understand people and their behaviors, has only helped her become a better writer, understanding characters and their complex personalities. Romance of all types has been her passion, and she plans to continue honing her skills in that genre.
You know that part when Edward tells Bella, "Your scent is like a drug to me." Mkay well that's how I feel about this book! These words were like a drug to me! Super addictive! This is EVERYTHING I love and need in a start to a series! I especially appreciate the way Monica dealt with mental health issues. Be Careful What You Wish For is intense, powerful, real, sexy and unputdownable!
Elijah wasn't all the way there from jump and I could tell before they really got started. And then when things did start to change between them that man there wheeewww chile complete difference.
Ashahve mannnn lil mama was not used to having attention from two suitable men and it showed. She gave too much so soon and I was like girlllll whatchu doin lol
Omari I loved him from jump. He said whay he wanted and didn't care how it came out. He was real and raw and didn't apologize for it.
Piper... girl if you dont gone on somewhere and get your life together!
Man I used to always say be careful what you wish for. This book goes to show that things are not always what it seems and our imagination the story always plays out perfect. Working in mental health I felt for Elijah. I see so many depressed people and for some it’s a struggle every day. He had me thinking he a bit out of control with the orange juice Jones stalking. I really believe Shavi wanted to keep them both but I’m glad she came to her senses. That could’ve ended badly. Now Omari, another book bae with a bit of a soft side. I think shavi handled her situations as maturely as she could’ve. I’m glad she’ll kept things open and upfront. Now Piper!!! She got some nerves.. 😡I just love me some Jordynn. She stole my heart.
I hate that Shavi was basically toying around with Elijah and Omari's emotions because she didnt realize that she was playing a dangerous game. I really like Omari but I feel like he needs to speak with someone about his mental well being as well whe it comes to grieving his mother and how he handles his emotions. Even though Elijah become very obsessive, I'm happy he was able to recognize it and work towards getting himself together. Piper and Taylor are something else. I wonder if Piper has some mental issues as well because no one just ups and leaves their child over their ex moving on. There is more to that story that I cannot wait to find out in part 2!!
First of all wow second of all wow. First of all the gift that you have with writing is not going unnoticed I see you on the best sellers list soon . Ashave got herself in a whole world of trouble it's like when you wish for something and then you have it it's not what it's supposed to be. I didn't take Elijah for a stalkerish type but looks are deceving. Jordan was such a sweetheart. Piper go play in traffic. Omari was bae and the way he was putting it down whew. Cant wait for part 2.
You have Shavi, an impressionable young woman vying for the attention of two men. She knew that these men were into her and continued to back and forth between them spending quality time. Circumstances allow her to make the decision that she had already made in her head, but is it too little, too late?.. I hope Omari and Piper get back on track regarding their coparenting relationship. This love triaged a hell of a trickle effect.
The problems with mental health disorders that real people deal with while figuring out their way through love has been written amazingly well by Monica Walters. Ashave doesn't seem to get a chance to breathe between all of the sex and disappointments that she is forced to deal with in this story. I enjoyed every minute and look forward to part 2
Shavi is clearly a catch as she has Omari and Elijah basically feigning for her. I see why Elijah was so obsessed and clingy after finding out his mental illness. Now that she settled on who she wants to be with there is more drama in the form of “baby mama”. Can’t see what Piper has in store for this budding couple in part two.
I have to say it...I think Ashahve is pregnant and the question is it by Dr. Elijah Coleman or Omari?? I think that Elijah needs intense counseling and he doesn't need to go into another relationship until her gets over his ex-fiance and Ashahve. Omari needs counseling too to deal with him still grieving his mom's death. I love Omari and Ashahve together and they just vibe so well together. I need Piper to get herself together to be a mother to Jordynn and get over Omari being in a series relationship with Ashahve. I can't wait to see what goes down at Ashahve's parents home.
The good doctor was on that good bs and Shavi didn’t know what she was getting herself into. Elijah needs help and Shavi needs to be completely done with him. Omari is Omari😍😍. I need part 2 ASAP
Ashahve got herself caught up in some doozies. And I'm wondering if that "illness" will be something revisited in the next book. Elijah needs a lot of help and therapy. Omari needs a sister that can beat his baby momma up. I want to see Ashave and Omari win in love more for his sake than hers. It was a great page turning read and I'm waiting for part 2.
You need your whole, you know what, Jesus be a fence! WHY-YAH?! WRITE ME IN THE DANG BOOK! I feel like strangling somebody. First, you have Crazie and Crazette. Then, you have the unfit mother. Leave my dude and his woman ALONE! Good book though. You play too much Author Monica. Where is book 2? I'm just gon sit here and look at cha!
This book was amazing I loved every minute of it I was shocked by the relationship Shavi had with her professor but I truly was hoping for her and Omari to be happy and together cant wait for pt2 congratulations on a job well done 🥰🥰🥰
What the hell is Piper trying to prove playing games with Omari and her daughter like that just because he didn't want her. I hope Dr. Coleman's new friend is everything he needs and wants. Hopefully Piper doesn't come between Omari and Shavi.
While I was reading this I felt like I was watching a romantic suspense or a Lifetime movie! I could not put this book down! Omari is everything and I hope that he and Shavi can get it together because I want them to live happily ever after. I cannot wait for part 2!
Shaving was playing with fire chile!!! I loved it. From beginning to end. But the cliffhanger...😤 That cliffhanger was something else! Ready for book 2!
Infatuation, friendship, and love can be ovwrwhelming. In Be Careful What You Wish For, we meet one woman and two men. What happens when paths are crossed and trust is an issue? How does one deal with mental health when they are partially in denial? Download the book to find out the answers to these questions and more.
Interesting story with a bit of a twist. I enjoyed reading this story and felt Ashahve was asking for trouble getting involved with not only an older man, but someone she knew nothing about outside of the classroom. Omari seems to be a good guy and definitely seems to be who Ashahve should be pursuing. Not sure what's wrong with Piper, but she tripping doing baby girl like that. Hopefully everything will be resolved in book 2.
This book took me through some things!!! Ashave and Omari are perfect for each other flaws and all!!! Elijah really has some things to get through and so does Omari especially with his mother no longer being there in his life. About to read part two now!!! Great job once again Monica!!!!
Whew child! Ashavea and Elijah was not a good match. I knew hew was off. Omari is my man! I’m glad Ashavea gave Omari a chance. I wonder if she’s pregnant
I don't know how long I can take the waiting game... I know there about to be some ish popping off with Piper pulling that crap. Jeeezus take the wheel! I'm glad the Good doctor... Well, no spoilers! Great job author!
I can’t even think from how acute this triangle is. For the first time in my history as your fan you gave me a female lead that I cannot get jiffy with. It is also the one point that is going to make me sit here chewing my nails waiting for the next parts.
Whew, this book had my attention from beginning to end. Very well written, great characters and storyline. I liked how the author touched on mental illness. Ashahve didn't know what she was getting herself into when she decided to mess with Elijah. Then there was Omari, the attraction and connection was undeniable between the two. I like Omari for Ashahve but I was happy she still remained a friend and cordial to Elijah especially after finding out about his illness. Piper was a piece of work and after that ending, I wonder what she has planned in part 2.
Omariiii! Yes, I'm loving me some him. Ashahve has her hands full with these two guys. The heart wants what it wants no matter what. Well I'm definitely rooting for Omari! This storyline is perfect. It had me going through all the motions. I hope Elijah is well and things work out for him. Depression is real and it's serious. So many people are battling the same thing as Elijah within themselves alone. I'm excited for pt 2.. good read!!!
This is some real live stuff going on in this book. Some females are going thru this right today. I have spent all week reading this book and to be continued
What can I say but phenomenal! This story takes you everywhere and back and I am floored with the love, truth, and despair shown in these characters. You will literally ache for their lives to be better and that is definitely what an amazing story will do for you!
First of all Elijah was losing his damn mind 🤦🏽♀️ I didn’t like him and Shavi together from the beginning even before he started acting crazy. Once he felt like there was competition he just started doing the absolute MOST! I reallyyyy like Omari and Shavi together though and I’m so happy he was patient and waited for her. Shavi was scaring me a little bit because I feel like Elijah gave her a LOT of warning signs and she naively chose to ignore him. What if he could’ve been dangerous? I felt like she didn’t consider that possibility at all. He was tripping before they were even intimate so I was in complete shock when she gave in 🤦🏽♀️ I can’t wait to read Part 2 because I can already see Piper about to act a fool 😩
