Redneck Unicorns #1

Seriously H*rny

Rate this book
Take one jaded unicorn, add a clueless dragon, throw in some of Mama Vee’s famous ’shine and watch out! Things are about to get seriously h*rny.

When a suspicious news report sends tracker Isaiah on the hunt for a missing dragon, he’s expecting to run into trouble... not a college kid with crazy visions who may be his fated mate.

Following the suspicious death of his parents and the disappearance of his young brother, Eric’s visions bring him home. If what he’s seen is right, his brother is in danger, and a hunky older stranger, Isaiah, who claims Eric is a dragon might be the only one who can help.

Despite the differences between them, if they want to bring Eric’s brother back safely, they’ll have to find a way to work together... and after one hot night leads to more than either of them could have dreamed, the stakes grow higher yet.

It’s not only a matter of finding a missing boy anymore—it’s about bringing home their family.

Seriously H*rny is a novella-length story in the Redneck Unicorns series. These stories are set several years after the events of the Waking the Dragons series, and while they can be enjoyed as stand-alones, they’re even better as sequels.

Piper Scott

Piper Scott debuted as a trio of authors looking to write together for fun. Their collaboration led to three novella-length books (Love Me, Save Me, and Keep Me,) before life sent them in different directions, leaving just one author with an omegaverse plot bunny that wouldn’t leave her alone. Obey was born several months later… but the plot bunny never left—it multiplied.

Left to her own devices, Piper Scott writes scorching but heartfelt contemporary omegaverse romance about men you can’t help but fall in love with.

Also writes under the pen name Emma Alcott.

This comes just as advertised, charming, funny and sweet with some sexy scenes. 🥰 Plus, you gotta witness a unicorn alpha devirginizing and mounting an omega dragon so it’s all win in my book. 😂 Also, Mpreg is my catnip so I was more than happy to read an interracial love story between a hunky unicorn and a gullible dragon. And the epilogue was super cute. 💜 I always love it when Piper Scott co-writes with either Susi Hawke or Lynn Van Dorn. Already reading the second book in the series and loving it. 😉

This was a short quick read that I liked. Alpha Isaiah is sent to find a potential Dragon and discovers another Eric. Eric has a vision of his younger brother walking by a train track, falling down a hill and breaking his leg. These two hook up. I also loved that they rescue and train dragon's. I love reading both of these authors. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

Not even going to lie here...

I only snagged this because of the title of the book... Seriously Horny!!! Redneck Unicorns!!! c’mon I just couldn’t pass that up. I didn’t even read the blurb

It was 100% what you would expect it to be. Short, cheesy, smutty, fluff with very little depth. But considering I’ve DNF’d several books already this week I needed something just like this.

It would have been perfect except I was kinda lost in the beginning. The authors states that this is a spinoff from another series but can be be read as a standalone... Unfortunately I’m pretty sure all the world building for this story was left in that series and not brought over to this one. I had no idea what was going for sometime.... Eric doesn’t know he’s a dragon but mentions his heat and heart song several times, both before and after finding out he’s a dragon. Shortly after he finds out he’s a dragon he talks about what’s it’s like to be an omega hoping to fall in love or whatever.... So I assume this is an ABO universe for even the humans??? although the humans also don’t know about shifters??? yea no idea there... I might have given an extra star if the author spent time giving us an extra 5 pages of basic background world building.

Adorable

Can I just say that I’ve come to adore this dragon/unicorn universe?
It’s the best thing ever!
Absolutely loved it!
Isaiah and Eric are the cutest thing! And the epilogue was awesome and sweet. Loved this shortie!

I picked this up mainly due to unicorns and dragons! I have not read their Waking the Dragons series so I think I probably missed out on some more depth in the background and understanding some of the cameos.

I did like Isaiah and Eric together. They had great banter and a fast connection. This is a short unicorn and dragon insta-love and mpreg novella with just a bit of plot. But it is humorous, fun, and sexy.

More unicorns! Yay for unicorns and Mama Vee. I felt really sorry for Eric and for everything that happened to him. But, Isiah is definitely going to make things a lot better. They are just very sweet together.

3,5*

PLEASE READ MY RATING SYSTEM!!!

To my ratings:
A 3,5* is clicked with a 4* but in review marked as 3,5*:

5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow-Away-book like ‘Jesse's Smile’ or ‘Joey’ from Angelique Jurd, ‘Save the the kids’ series
from EM Leya, ‘Love’s Tethered Heart’ from C.L. Etta or ‘Liberty’ from Seth King),
it's like an A+

4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books and Davidson Kings 'Haven Hart'-series)
it's like an A

3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in
hospitals). I can recommend them definitively!
It's like an B+

3* - it could be more then a one-time-reader (2-3 times a year),
it's like a B

2* - it was ok to read, but it's more a one-time-reader (I wouldn't recommend it heartily, but it was ok)
It's like a C-, D

1* - sorry, but that isn't really a book for me (too many mistakes, not nice plot, illogical, so an absolute NO-GO). It's like failure in the
whole line, dismissed, repeat the class

With the name and the description you would think this is some madcap humourous adventure, with bumbling characters and ridiculous circumstances. While there are indeed some slightly ridiculous circumstances this is actually more sad and more serious than anything is implied.

Isaiah is sent to find a suspected dragon after a home invasion of a family where the parents are killed ends in the invaders burned to a crisp. What Isaiah finds in the older brother, Eric, also an unknowing dragon. Eric world is suddenly changed when he finds out there is magic in the world and he and his brother are part of it. The visions Eric has had all his life are his power and he uses them to find his younger brother with Isaiah's help.

When it comes to the romance it is all fluffy sappy sweet with some smut thrown in for good measure. The two are mates and they work on that fact FAST, finding comfort and connection. Some knotting, a pregnancy, and seeing a few years in teh future make this all a very satisfying little novella!

*WARNING* contains explicit sexual m/m content
Isaiah is the best tracker the unicorns have, so when the dragons have a missing person, he's called.
These characters are crazy, funny, loveable. This is a short little novella, but the story is not at all lacking. I found myself laughing out loud many times while reading this little gem. This refers to itself as a spin off series, but I didn't read the prior series mentioned and I don't feel like I missed anything. I 💖ed this one so much that I've already downloaded book 2.

I was referred to this after a newsletter mention and this release apparently escaped my attention!.
This is how you do m-preg! I don't want to spoil the story for you, but the gist is a classic case of comforting someone who doesn't know their own nature. There weren't many grammatical errors that I could see and I feel it was also perfectly paced, if a little fast at the start when Isaiah first meets Eric since this isn't insta-love. If you're a fan of shifters and the criminally underserved unicorn niche, you'll definitely be pleased.

I don't like to complain about these types of shorter works (I mean, they're short, I get only so much can be done in limited pages) but the melodramatic language used in this didn't feel earned at all. I rolled my eyes. alot. But, um, I guess it was trying to be amusing? Mostly I borrowed it to see if I can steer the Kindle Unlimited algorithm out of the depressing corner it erroneouly thinks I want to be in.

But I did derive a modicum of pleasure trying to figure out which possible college an out-of-state student would attend in Sacramento. Surely not mine! Hahahahaha!

Short sweet and funny

I laughed a lot while reading this book, it was a quick read but it was enough to enjoy thoroughly. I loved Isiah I thought he was adorable, a tough redneck who’s a unicorn is funny as hell. I adored Eric as well mostly his powers to see through others eyes that was a neat trick. Loved mama Vee and all the antics I got to read about. Great book from awesome authors 9.5/10 ⭐️

3 stars!

This was a freebie from prolific works and is a quintessential fated mate MPREG novella.

I love these redneck unicorns. They are hilariously funny and exemplify chosen family.

This story was good but I didn't feel a fated mate connection between the MCs as much as I wanted in this story.

This was definitely a very unique and imaginative book. I loved that there were unicorns with sensitive horns, and dragons in this story. The two main characters were so adorable, and even humorous together. The plot flowed smoothly and I enjoyed the writing style of the authors. Overall, it was a fun and interesting read. =)

I was shocked when I saw that this series takes place after the events in another series. I immediately added that series to my "to read" list, but forged ahead anyway. This was a fun story. Not big on plot but there was some good character development. Hopefully this carries through with the other books in the series.

I wanted more but I also loved the short length, lol. I absolutely adore this universe. The relationship progressed so fast, like blink and you'll miss it but it's ok because it's FREAKING UNICORNS AND DRAGONS. So anything goes, ok? And I am totally fine with that. :)

I really like how each dragon has a different ability.

First, I love the title! Second, he has an actual horn! 🦄
This book is an adorable and funny redneck trailer park shapeshifter MM romance and you’ll find the magical aspect in it for sure!
The plot takes the MCs through a forced proximity rescue mission. Of course they find their connection before achieving their goal but the HEA is there. Pregnant and barefoot!

This is what happens when I'm scrolling through my kindle at night. I mean, who can resist the title "Seriously Horny" when the O is a unicorn?! I can't. And then I opened it and saw the series is titled "Redneck Unicorns?!" OMG. I just had to read it. It wasn't particularly spectacular, but it was charming and short, so perhaps no bad decisions were made.

Good short love story and totally plausable. I liked it. There are too many short stories that try to rush the connection and/or initial meeting that the whole thing seems way crazier than you not knowing you are a dragon and the cute guy in front of you is a unicorn. 😉

Great quick read

This was a sweet, steamy, funny book. The story flowed quickly, but was very entertaining, and I never felt like the story was lacking anything. Isaiah was a funny mate that suited Eric and the unicorn family perfectly.

I’m so glad that the authors decided to give us this. I love that it shows what the dragons are up to and that we are also getting to know more about the unicorns. I am looking forward to see where they take us.

Alpha Isaiah is sent to find a potential Dragon and discovers another, Eric. A fun read with the seriousness of finding Eric's younger brother. I have not read the related books and had no problem reading this as a standalone.

The heroes go to rescue someone whom they know has been trapped outside in the rain for days with a broken leg. They don't take; water, food, bandages, clean dry clothes or even a blanket.
So not the brightest or most impressive guys.

Wonderful

I was intrigued of course by the title. But it has a great double entendre. Even though an underlying cause is sad, this is very upbeat and humorous. Delightfully written. Hope there's more than two books!

Definitely entertaining. Reading it knowing what it is, I enjoyed the story. However, there were parts where the story took a turn I was not expecting and I was a little taken aback. It was not as crazy as I expected and I would consider reading more books by these authors.

Just ... Confused?

I enjoyed the previous series but I’m not really sure why this book was written. Apart from the sex and instant love-and-relationship, there isn’t much here. There are enough characters and possibilities for story threads but nothing is attempted.

Short but cute

I kind of wish the story was longer, but it was a unique concept and I liked the characters. Redneck unicorns? Why not? I didn’t fully read the blurb so I didn’t realize I was getting Omegaverse so that was a nice surprise.
