All along, I thought this book was fairly 'meh.' Right up until I got to the last chapter, which was already interesting in and of itself, because it presented the viewpoints and inner thoughts of all the random one-off characters that had appeared elsewhere in the book, but were not fully developed or focused on as there just wasn't a need to move the story forward. It was really interesting to see the world, see their backgrounds, see the same timeline unfold through their perspectives. But the real difference maker for me, and what bumped this book up a whole rating level, were the perspectives of the last 2 characters and how they specifically spoke about how everyone wears masks, many different masks, all day long, and how it's actually not really desired for you not to do so and to 'be the real you.' Loved the message.
