A USA Today Bestselling, award-winning author, Michele taught herself to read at 3 years old because she wanted to write stories so badly. It took some time (and some detours) but now she does spend much of her time writing stories. Mystery stories, to be exact. They're clean and twisty, and range from psychological thrillers to cozies, with a dash of romance and supernatural thrown into the mix. If that wasn't enough, she posts lots of fun things on her blog, including short stories, puzzles, recipes and more, at MPWNovels.com.
Michele grew up in Wisconsin, (hence why all her books take place there), and currently lives there after spending nearly 30 years living in the mountains of Prescott, Arizona, with her husband and southern squirrel hunter Cassie.
When she's not writing, she's usually reading, hanging out with her dog, or watching the Food Network and imagining she's an awesome cook. (Spoiler alert, she's not. Luckily for the whole family, Mr. PW is in charge of the cooking.)
I was starting to feel like one of those kids in a horror movie who goes down into the basement without turning the light on. Honestly, it made sense at the time.
My Review:
I was totally annoyed and completely exasperated with the main character of Becca – she dithered, she waffled, she was immature and irresponsible and made one boneheaded decision after another. I was so disgusted with her I declared her limited brain cells aloud to my Kindle with, “What a moron!” Yet I couldn’t have stopped reading if my hair had been on fire. I was deeply invested and had to know what happened if I ever wanted to sleep again as the diabolical storyteller known as Michelle P.W. had my attention. There were lots of twists and turns and surprising revelations. I spun and cast aside several theories and was oh so confident that I had it figured out… I was so very wrong. The storylines were active, taut with tension and angst, and involved so many poor choices that I wondered if Becca might have suffered one too many blows to the head, but I couldn’t have been happier with the choice of life-saving hero.
I’ve loved reading this series!! Fantastically put together, executed perfectly, flowed really well and was definitely tense! This book was Awesome with a capital ‘A’!
I’ve been super excited for this book and now I’ve read it, I’m so happy with how it all came across. The characters were written the same with the two previous books which is a massive achievement! In a lot of series I’ve read in the past, have some character changes. But they were EXACTLY the same which was perfect. I LOVE Becca. I love how strong, fierce and determined she is. She doesn’t take any shit really and fights to the very end. We didn’t see much of Daphne in this one though. I would have liked to have seen more of Becca and Daniel together. All he ever seemed to do was moan and shout at her about things. Is that really what the start of a relationship is?
The storyline itself was AMAZEBALLS! Like, seriously good. I always knew that certain characters was a little dodgy but I still didn’t expect THAT conclusion to all the questions ya readers were left with from the previous books! I feel, now, that I can finally stop thinking about these characters and the questions can finally stop whirling through my brain!
Writing style? On point! This author really draws the reader in and keeps them there, at the edge of their seats. Brilliant brilliant brilliant!!!!
Stunning conclusion to set a books that definitely suck the readers in, chews them up and spits them out the end, completely dazed!
When I started reading this story, I could not put it down. I read the book in one day. This author is an awesome writer. I can not wait to read more of their books. Keep up the great work. You should definitely read this book.
Well, I think this book is the best one so far that I have read!! It diffently answers some questions but not all of them! I can't wait to start the next book!
The Evil That Was Done is the third book in the Secrets of Redemption series. You must, must, must read the first two books before reading this one. Seriously, all the books tie in together and follow the same characters, and the storylines continue through each book. Don’t skip a book!
I love this series and if you read my previous reviews, you know I wasn’t the biggest fan of Rebecca. I still struggled with liking her here, but it got better as the book went along. I think this book, more than the others, really showed while she was so indecisive and struggled with decision making. But, I think she was really putting herself together by the end of the book. Don’t get me wrong, she made STUPID decisions and I kept thinking “what is she doing?”
As with the previous books, there is A LOT going on! Redemption has a lot of history and the previous books left us with many unanswered questions. I had my suspicions and some of those were right, some of those were wrong and some things I didn’t even consider a mystery! I did know who the current killer was, though I didn’t even guess the extent of this person’s behavior.
If you love mystery or paranormal books, and well-written books, this is a series for you to read! An unexpected surprise to my reading this series is that after I read the first book, I recommended it to my mom. She also loves the entire series and it’s been fun being able to discuss it with her, especially our suspicions before reading the final book. We never read the same books and it’s been fun doing so! And, turns out I get my fast reading from her. She read each of these books in a day, though she stayed up until 2 a.m. to do so because once you start, you just can’t put the book down! This was the final book in the series, and the author has done a great job of wrapping up everything!
Becca just can't seem to catch a break, as people are disappearing again, with her right in the middle of it all. And this time, she's being set up even more so this time, as everything the police are finding have all fingers pointed right at her, and the only answers she has only make her look insane to be honest. It's not helping matters that one of the people involved is the man she's seeing, Daniel's ex-fiance, Gwen. And Gwen is certain that Becca is stalking her, but when Gwen ends up dead, there's no way that Becca isn't going to get out of this one easily. So it's a race against time for Becca to find out what her deceased aunt is telling her to find in her dreams, in order to keep her safe, and to solve the mystery before it's too late. Man, I'm super sad that the Secrets of Redemption series is over, because I've very addicted, and I'm not sure that Becca has fully gotten her happily ever after yet. Plus, I do so love how this amazing author weaves her magic in the mysteries that she writes so that the twists are around every corner with a little touch of the paranormal involved, which keeps me on the edge of my seat cover to cover. So if you want to know who dun it this time around, and the secrets are even more explosive so you do, then you'll have to one click this baby! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Welcome back to the town of Redemption where secrets are abundant. In the 3rd installment of the series Secrets of Redemption written by Michele PW. We learn that not everything was cleared up with the solving of Jessica murder. There are quite a few secrets yet to unfolded and with The Evil That Was Done, Rebecca is once again behind one of the mysteries.
I am very much enjoying this series. Each installment carries its own little secrets. So, I would advise reading this series in order. The Evil That Was Done, is the conclusion of this series. The biggest mystery of all will finally be resolved. When several people go missing and all the clues, once again lead everyone to believe Becca is causing them. It will be up to Becca, to solve the mystery, with the help of her dead Aunt Charlie... Will Becca solve the clues in enough time before she becomes the next victim.
I really hate to say goodbye to a series. With the Secrets of Redemption, it will be especially so. When I read It Began With a Lie, I knew right away who the culprit was, and when This Happened to Jessica, was published my theory paned true. However, in The Evil That Was Done; Michele did an excellent piece of work, disguising the true villain.
If you’re the type of reader, who enjoys solving mystery then I highly, highly recommend start reading the Secrets of Redemption.
Oh My Goodness! This has been a great series from Michele P.W. and I am glad to have the chance to read them.
The Evil That Was Done is the third and final instalment of the Secrets of Redemption series and it MUST BE READ IN ORDER! I will try keep this as spoiler free as possible. Becca once again find herself piecing her life together after the events of book see her memories of Jessica come flooding back. Her husband in jail is dragging his feet regarding divorce and we find out that he has siphoned off some of her trust fund, leaving her with little money, she takes in her friend Mia and Chrissy her stepdaughter as room mates and it would see that life is looking up., what with Jessica's killer also in jail. That is until she starts dreaming about Aunt Charlie and this time Jessica is there!
My frustrations with Becca were ten fold in this book - she really made some totally bad judgement calls, and once again ignored the clues her Aunt and Jessica were giving her! If only she had listened then maybe she wouldn't be a person of interest in a murder!
Once again I had an notion who was behind it all and I was super happy that I was right, but I had no idea just how insane and revengeful this person could have been! Yeah this book will definitely keep you toes, there are lots going on but it all flows seamlessly.
Wow, book e, The Evil That Was done is a page turner. I lightly could not put down this book. It has twists and turns that hold you entranced in the storyline. I encourage you to read the whole series! Refreshing to read books that don't follow the usual path. Enjoy!
The evil that was done by Michelle P W. A fantastic read with some great characters. Loved Becca loved Mia and Daphne but didnt get to see much of Daphne. I liked Daniel. I was hoping Daniel and Becca would get together. I'm hoping there is more to come. 5*.
I've enjoyed the Redemption Series, following the breadcrumbs each novel gave to see where they led. The characters are great and the mysteries and discoveries just kept coming 'till the end.
Wow!! What a conclusion to an amazing series. There was so much suspense throughout. I read this book in one day! This is a very entertaining series and I highly recommend it. I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving this review
Good plot twist. Shows we never truly know each other.
I thought Becca was a pretty stupid person not being more careful after all she had already learned. Suspected the correct person as murderer and even why. Ending was of a very interesting twist though.
This series of three books is the first I had read from this author. I loved every one of them. The main characters were the same in all three books. They were all very well developed and believable. I felt like I knew them personally. The dialogue flowed smoothly and was very realistic. The storyline was unique but exciting. I couldn't read fast enough but then hated it when I had finished them all. Lots of twists and turns. Looking forward to more of this author. These books would make great movies. I would recommend these books to anyone.
I think this series is a little dragged on. I liked the plot in the beginning of the series but Becca knew all along that JD was suspicious. I feel like she is way too trusting. EXAMPLE: WHEN LOUISE WAS LIKE “let me in, I’m sad”…. How could not see that she was faking, she’s not gonna flip on a dime like that when she was pounding and screaming to be let in.
It was a little obvious that JD was going to be the villain so not a plot twist there. I feel like this would be a good ending so when I got to the end and there was mentions of a 4th book I was baffled.

This is the third book in the Secrets of Redemption book series and I am enjoying all of the trouble Becca keeps getting herself into. I'm even enjoying it despite the frustration I feel about her continued need to make one stupid decision after another. I have to keep reading to find out how she will survive another debacle as well as find out where the story is going to go next.
The main reason for four stars instead of five is because of the repetition throughout each and every book. For instance, (maybe this is personal preference) more than a handful of times of describing something one way is too much for me: 1) it was so hot sweat dripped, ran, or slid down her back or between her breasts, 2) she was so scared she shivered, 3) she warmed her hand around her cup of tea or coffee over and over, 4) she did something dangerous without telling anyone, ...
For some, this type of continual repetition throughout a book and throughout a series may warrant a lower rating, but I count this as one thing. It doesn't make the entire story bad just a bit tedious. That doesn't change how invested I am in Becca and her story. I'm off to read the fourth book. If you like books that include ghosts, murder, betrayal, secrets, romance, and a bunch of memorable, well-described characters then you will enjoy the Secrets of Redemption novels.
Throughout books 1 and 2, you keep reading about "the evil that was done" several people say it but there's no real explanation. Until now. This book gives insight into exactly what evil was done and who did it and why.
In this book we return to Rebecca, still living in her aunt's house, trying to decide what to do. Stay and try to make a life of her own, in the house where she feels most at home, or return to New York where her parents have her whole life set up for her. A place where she will feel stifled and sad. While trying to decide what to do, people start disappearing, again. This isn't the first time this has happened in the town of Redemption. But all too soon, Rebecca starts to realize that she is being set up. Strange things keep occurring to her, but why? Why is someone following her, planting evidence in her home and making her look like a killer? She has no idea why but her Aunt Charlie, (who appears to her in dreams) has the answers, but Rebecca must find them before it's too late. Can she find the evidence of a long dead crime and clear her name before it's too late or will she suffer the same fate?
All I can say is WOW!! I could not put this book down. Rebecca finally starts to stand on her own two feet, breaking away from her parents and deciding to embrace her free spirit, artistic side. I am happy to see that she will be staying in Redemption, to be her own person and hopefully she will continue her relationship with Daniel. The writing is fantastic here! I love the characters and very much look forward to the next book.
I really don’t like the main character. The first two books were interesting enough that I could hope that she would experience some character growth. Maybe develop a few much needed brain cells. Unfortunately, Becca actually became even more stupid! I have to agree with her Mother, she’s too dumb to take care of herself let alone anyone else. I don’t understand why her friends or Daniel like her.
The second thing SPOILER ALERT…
The villains are so ridiculous it’s almost like an episode of Scooby Doo! It’s either obvious or a plot point has been changed from the previous book to make this one work. For example, CB was portrayed as bisexual leaning more toward homosexual. He was effeminate and not very interested in women, then in book 2 he’s suddenly obsessed with Jessica. Enough to rape her and kidnap her look alike niece. I don’t see a lot of gay men doing these types of things to women. I noticed in the 2nd book CB seemed a lot less gay. Either the author didn’t know who her villain was going to be when she wrote book one or she’s just a sloppy writer.
I know the series continues with a prequel featuring Charlie. There are still a lot of unanswered questions from the first few books, but I don’t think I’ll be picking up the next book. Maybe Charlie will turn out to be a better MC, just not sure I care enough to continue.

SHE STILL HASNT GOTTEN WITH THE COP UGH. Listen, I know this is not a romance or smut, but if there’s something this author can do it’s fully express intense sexual tension between two characters (you go girl, some people can’t get the build up correct). I think those scenes, while few and far between are what keep me going. That chemistry is my addiction. The mystery itself is… ok. There were 2 suspects in my mind but it was not a super twisty reveal. The paranormal aspects are interesting and add some red herring for the whodunit but honestly it feels like fluff mostly. I am shocked this is a long series because these first three books make it feel so unrealistic for how much happens to this MC. Does it end? It feels a bit much for one person to constantly be in the center. At least she doesn’t describe every interaction with people predator-esque though. Alas, here I go to the next book because I need to see some respite for Daniel and Becca’s love story and I will not rest until I see it.

I could not put this one down. With Becca regaining her memory causing Brittney to be found in time, you would think she had deserved a break. That was not the case however. In fact, things just went from bad to worse. Someone was setting Becca up. First for harassment, then for murder. Who was it though, and how were they able to access her home, her computer and her mobile phone? It that wasn't enough to contend with, her mother was threatening to disown her if she didn't return to New York. Becca's "conversations" with Charlie were becoming more frustrating, finally leading to a bizarre discovery. Then Daphne tells Mia and Becca that she has been keeping her own secret these past thirteen years and that Charlie didn't only know about it, but helped her too. How many more secrets will be unearthed in the town of Redemption?
Book 3 wraps up the Secrets of Redemption series. WOW is all I can say. This was a beautifully crafted series - each book a mystery within a mystery - true to the end. As the wrap-up book, #3 resolved several mysteries. Mia, Daphne, Daniel and Becca feel like old friends caught up in something outside of their control, but truth perservered, finally. Dream state conversations with the dead also helped and we cannot forget the hero of Book 3, Oscar! I genuinely regretted the end of this series. It caught my attention with It Began with a Lie, continued with This Happened to Jessica and finished with The Evil That Was Done. Michele PW is a master of the art of suspense.
I’ve said this regarding the other two books as well, but the author has blown my expectations out of the water. I was not prepared for this book to completely blow the other two out of the water, but she fully did.
Becca thought things were over…until they weren’t. Because of course they weren’t, right? One thing I found myself saying over and over was “BECCA, CALL DANIEL”. Becca frustrated me to no end, but at the end of the day I can understand where she was coming from by not wanting to bother him.
The fourth book, The Summoning, is next on my list, and I’m excited to see where the author goes with telling Charlie’s story.
I don't want to say too much about this book in case I accidentally spoil anything for anyone, especially those who haven't read the first two books. I have already bought book four though, and I will be starting it tonight, so that gives you some idea of how invested I am in these characters.
If you haven't read this series yet, I highly recommend you add book one to your list....
The third book on the series should finally give the answers to what happened to Jessica’s body, her uncle Jesse and his best friend Jonathan.
And explain the paranormal happenings in Becca’s house.
They do to a certain extend, but still left me disappointed. Becca seems too accepting and quite dumb at times, especially in the decisions she makes that put her in more danger.
The climax is a bit meh. The author is so skilled at building up the tension, weaving a plot that genuinely makes you feel the fear, but it’s as if she then doesn’t know how to tie it all up and it results in a lukewarm conclusion.
This actually made me decide not to read the rest of the books.
I just finished reading the three book series of the redemption books and I did it in just three days. I truly enjoyed all three books but I had to get my teeth a few times at all the dumb moves Becca. She was still very loveable. I knew I'D was the bad guy and I knew something was off about Daphnes mom. I really liked how it all came together and everything finally clicked into place. I will definitely read more by this author. Happy reading, Nora Moore
I am enjoying this series quite a lot! This one actually had me jumping at noises while I was reading it. Our MC is being set up by someone and she can't figure out why. While she searches for clues, she gets help from her (ghost) Aunt Charlie. Can she solve the mystery and find all the clues that Aunt Charlie set out for her to discover? While I really did enjoy this book, there were far too many errors this time around. It could've used the help of a good editor. However this did not detract from my experience.
