I’m a coward. I just wanted to forget. I just wanted an escape from reality. I didn’t ask for any of this. Hiding the truth just might kill me, but how can I come clean when everything around me is so twisted? Funerals, weddings, secrets…between them all, I’m losing myself. I’m not even sure I know who I am anymore. I missed the memo where families are built on lies. The truth is coming out, and everything is about to hit the f*cking fan. Due to mature content, recommended 18+
I'm a fun loving book dragon who has the ability to make sailors blush with colorful language and obscene gestures. I love reading, mostly romance, young adult and new age. I'm a part of a BANGerangin' book club that is guaranteed to be better than yours. I like to spend my days wondering around department stores while reading erotica out loud, scaring the piss out of people, and playing "The floor is lava". (Adulting is lame.)
I read this book when it came out and had to hold off on writing my review. When I initially read Part 2 I just felt like I didn't like it as much as the others and I couldn't figure out why. So I literally searched my brain for why I didn't feel like I loved it as much as the others then it hit me! It wasn't all about Haley! What can I say I love Haley! So that being said once I realized I just missed Haley I realized that I absolutely loved the book even without Haley. I really had to get over her!
I have loved Drew since Broken, and Emma really won me over in Part One. And they really lived up to my expectations in part two. In this book I feel like both characters evolved even more and it's exactly what you want out of a book.
When Ellie writes she brings out any and all emotions you can think of. I laugh, I cry, I hurt for the characters, I feel everything they feel and by the end I'm emotional wreck and want to go through it all again. I love that when she writes she doesn't write for what she thinks people want, she writes for her.
I hate that this is the last book in the series, I mean I know we get Before Us, but I feel like I could read about these characters all day everyday! I love each and everyone of them, and feel like they each bring something different and special to the table.
Famished Part Two was an absolute perfect way to end this series. The end of this book was just a superb ending to this heartbreaking and beautiful series. I give all the stars to Ellie Messe and Famished Part Two (even if it did have less Haley).
Book 3 of the broken series...there’s the Jameson’s, the Hales, and the Hayes families. There’s angst, heartache, pain, drama, suspense, but the underlying emotion under it all? Love. Deep, pulling at your heartstrings, love. The kind that develops from family you choose, love you take pride in, and passion that makes you forget you’re in a dressing room and not in your own private home.
Complete perfection! What can I say, the final chapter of this series was everything and more! I can’t thank you enough for bringing nurse Brittiney to life, I’ll forever be grateful that I’m able to say I’m in a book!!! Your words are magic, your writing is fantastic, and this book/series deserves every star I can give! Ellie you have an amazing talent, never give it up, please keep giving me your words! These characters will be forever in my heart as I gave them a piece of it! This series is a must read, Ellie takes you on an amazing journey! You won’t regret it! What are you waiting for!?!? GO GET IT TODAY!
Oh my, wow! Where do I even begin?! I seriously love this book/s. I get why it was split into to, but REALLY?! That ending on book one got me all kinds of messed up. Oh and as if the anxiety and emotions stopped there? Nope they continue right through to book 2 (YES, you MUST read these books in order from Broken to Famished pt 1 & 2 to understand what is going on, this book picks up where pt 1 left off!) Never a dull moment with the Hayes brothers and their girls. Funerals, weddings secrets and lies... Between everything going on, Emma takes the easy route instead of coming clean. It all started with her just wanting an escape and to forget, only to her now being a coward and hiding instead of facing the truth. But with everything so twisted up, there was never a moment... Instead she might just be losing herself. If it's not one thing, it's something else. Life has been crazy with no sign of slowing down or stopping, everything happening so fast. One misunderstanding could cost him, one wrong move could end him, one secret could save him. Crap is about to hit the fan, and the truth is about to come out, will Drew be ready to hear it? God. I was a mess after part 1, and definitely needed to read this book to help sooth my anxiety. I absolutely love these characters something fierce, -Not just Drew & Emma but Parker & Haley as well! It was fast paced & definitely had me feeling all kinds of things throughout the book, but I loved it all the same. This story was amazing and I'm an idiot for waiting so damn long to read it, but so glad I did! 5⭐ out of 5⭐
I really love the humor and the way she writes every emotion with so much heart you feel it ALL. What I don’t love is the horrific grammar. It was significantly worse in the last 2 books of the series. These books were written so well but having a professional editor go through it a few times would make a world of difference.
I appreciated that Drew and Emma’s story was MUCH lighter than Haley’s. After her story, it was needed. These last 2 books closed up some of the gaps from book 1. I liked that they weren’t just intertwined stand-alones but they went back through scenes from different perspectives.
Personally, I think the final book (book 4 - Maria’s novella) was absolutely pointless. It just went over everything we already knew. If they had an entire book all to themselves then it would have made more sense. Starting from their teenage years to after the boys were grown up, friends to lovers to second chance romance. So I am reviewing this as the final book and forgetting book 4 ever happened, sorry but it was rather time wasting 😢
Drew was my favorite because of his stupid humor and ability to take the severity out of a situation and lighten the mood immensely. I was happy it ended on him. Good series, just needs a few professional edits and it would be so much better 🖤
Wow this was really good. I loved Part one and went immediately to part two the minute I was done. It wasn’t as long as I expected it, since part one was way longer but let me tell you. This was packed full of so much and, I was on the edge the whole time through this book especially with Emma’s big secret. Every time she was close to letting it out, something would come up. I was screaming on the inside “just let it out already!” Lol.
“I’m fine.” She insists, though her voice is strained. I stand up and lean into her shoulder so the others can’t hear me, “Cramps?” “What?” She turns so fast we almost knock heads. “Do you have cramps? Do you wanna go home?” “No, it’s fine.” “You’re not very convincing.
His body jerks forward following by a harsh cough, something flies out of his mouth before he gasps for air, gaining the attention of multiple passengers. “Are you okay?” I ask, taken back by his abruptness. “Holy shit,” He gasps, “I choked on a fucking cheerio, did you see that?”
I really liked how part two all came together and thought it ended pretty well. All the characters from this series were great and Drew is so funny at times I loved it. This also was my first series from this author and it wasn’t bad. I might have to see what else she has to read.
This is book 3 of the “Broken” series and part two of “Famished”. This definitely not to be read as a stand alone.
“..After all, mama didn’t come home. Daddy liked to hit. Brothers followed suit. My future was planned from birth...”
Ok so we ended the last book in a crazy ass cliffhanger with Drew and Emma. This continues on with Drew and Emma but I feel like it has a lot to still do with Haley. And though I loved Haley I was kind of over it. I wanted more craziness from Drew and Emma. I love this series and I definitely love these couples!!
The first 3/4 of this book had me hooked!! This author does a really great job of making you love these characters. I mean they speak to each other like I would my friends or sisters. I love Drew. He is my number one but Emma is a close second. I love her strength and sense of humor. I want to know more about her family and that biker club!!
This was a great read and the series was phenomenal. Trust me you want to read this!!
I read this in one sitting, and I was incredibly happy with the way Ellie left things. Though, I am also incredibly sad to have to say goodbye to these characters. Everyone got the happy ending they deserved and I cried all of the happy tears! Haley has always been a favorite of mine. She gives no fucks, has sass for days, is a bad ass bitch, and she will fuck you up if need be. I was so happy to see she got her happily ever after with Parker. Drew is another all time fav, especially after Famished part 1. His humor style is incredibly hilarious and as much as he admits to being an asshole, he's actually more sweet and considerate than he gives himself credit for. I adore him! And Emma... omg Emma. Such a sweet little firecracker. She was definitely the best of both worlds, and absolutely perfect for Drew. I'm so happy that they found each other. I'm so sad to have to say goodbye to the Hayes family.... but this book was perfection. It gave me the answers and closure that I so desperately needed. Ellie, you did an amazing job and I soooo look forward to what you write next!
This book. Oh my flipping God (or which ever deity you follow). Seriously. I devoured in less than 24 hours, and would have done so even quicker if not for the fact that I had to sleep and go to work. GAH, I hate when adulting interrupts an AMAZING read. This book went SO fast, which was all well and good until it was over and I was asking Ellie Messe to give me more works. I NEED MORE WORDS!!!!
You MUST read Broken, Famished 1 and Famished 2... in that order. Because Famished 2 is everything you never knew you needed after Broken and Fam1.
Ellie... my woman. Hit it out of the park AGAIN!!!
The third book in the Broken Series (Famished Part 2) was ... meh. I didn’t feel the connection between Drew and Emma because Drew was too busy putting Emma off to be dedicated to “Hales”. Hailey was really starting to annoy me with her attitude and Emma started off as a tough girl from the wrong side of the tracks and then just quickly mellowed. They were a few laugh out loud parts, which is always good. I do recommend everyone who comes across the series to reads all the books!
I started the first book when it first came out, forgot that it was supposed to be a series until I started re-reading some of the books I had saved. I am so beyond happy that I reread the first because I was able to complete the series in the last two days! She is an amazing author. You fall in love with the characters right away. You feel what they feel! Amazing job!
I loved this entire series! There was some heavy subject matter that I thought the author handled really well and the humor rounded everything out well. The only thing that made me sad and I didn't feel was explored the way I wanted was the relationship between Emma and her Dad. I was hoping it would progress along with his role in her life. But alas no...Still a fabulous book that kept me interested the entire way through🎀

F*CKING INCREDIBLE!! wow and here i thought it wasn't gonna get higher than my expectations but knowing Ellie's writing , she f*cking blew it! I liked the scene w/ the cheerio , sh*t is hilarious and only Drew haha. bitter sweet, how its the end of this series but at least i get to reread them all over again and forever stay in my heart. #hayesfamilyinmyheartforever #hotuncle
I read Broken a couple years ago. I fell in love with the story and the characters. I honestly forgot about Drew's part (Famished 1) waiting for it to come out. I recently rediscovered and read all of them together. (like full on 2 day binge read) Now I'm SO sad it's over!!!! I love these characters, their struggles, their victories, their stories. Ellie Messe got me all in my feelings this morning👏❤️❤️
I didn’t want it to end! I LOVE this series! Ellie is an amazing writer with crazy talent to draw you into the story. You fall in love with the characters and don’t want to leave. You’ll want to read the story again and again. You’ll fall in love with Drew and Parker. You’ll want to be best friends with Emma and Haley. The wit, the banter, the shenanigans. Truly amazing!
Oh my Hayes loving heart! This is the perfect conclusion to not only Famished but Broken as well. Beautifully wrote, brilliantly tied together. Ellie, my unicorn, you've done it. You've single handedly taken indie authors to a whole new level. Well done💋
I absolutely loved this series. This was the perfect way to tie it all together and leave it. Ellie has such amazing and in depth characters that are so relatable. You laugh, you cry, you yell, you swoon, your panties melt. It’s all there. You have an incredible gift my dear and I cannot wait to continue watching you do your magic.
I like the cover. I chuckled here and there but overall I skimmed. The story is okay. There was a decent cliffhanger in the last book but again Drew seems better suited to be with his best friend Hailey Bailey and Emma’ character was just corny.
I recommend anything by T.M. Frazier, A. Zavarelli, L.J. Shen, CALLIE HART, Pepper Winters, Aly Martinez for a good dark romance.
I have been eagerly awaiting this book...and Ellie didn't disappoint! Absofreakingloutely incredible!! I refuse to give details...just wondering why you're still sitting there reading my review instead of buying and reading yourself (one, rude...two, lame...three, just buy it and thank me later)
Oh my gosh that was so 100% worth the wait and the lost sleep!!! Ellie dies it again!! I never knew what was gonna happen next and I loved every minute of it!!! Job well done
Thoroughly enjoyed this final chapter in the Broken world!! Couldn’t read it fast enough and totally worth the wait! Love thee characters and happy to see how their stories played out. Already ready for Ellie’s next masterpiece!!!
Absolutely perfect!!! 100% worth the wait and no sleep! I couldn’t put it down from page one to the very end. I can’t wait for Ellie’s next book! Whatever it is it’ll be absolutely fantastic! Couldn’t have asked for a better ending to the Broken Series
Omfg Ellie I thought the first two books teared my heart apart but this this made my heart tear apart sow back together laugh and bear on panic 😢 fantastic book and fantastic story love this whole series
Good God I love ALL of Ellie's books!! The Broken Series has not disappointed a single time. I swear I am so in love with this whole story line. I'm sad that it's over but so beyond happy that I got to experience all 3 books! I cannot wait for another book by Ellie!
I love your gorgeous face Ellie brilliant book loved every word of it well done on a great part two still can't forgive you for that cliffhanger in part one.... Just saying lol
This was a perfect ending. It was the closure I needed since reading Broken. I don't think a happily ever after is always necessary, but theses group of characters deserved it. Well done!
I really enjoyed this series. I binge read the Famished duet in a day and it was amazing! So many twists and turns I couldnt stop reading! Drew is most definitely my favourite.
