Good Story, but not Great

The series moves at a very fast rate. The characters were interesting and well developed. Unfortunately, the main character comes across as too impulsive and many times down right stupid. English majors beware, starting in book three and going all the way through to book eight, there are a great many grammatical errors. Sometimes making reading difficult. In the first book the author refers to a frigate as a huge ship bigger than a cruiser. This has never been the case in any nations Navy. Frigates are one of the smallest ships.
The description of one of the races reminded me of Wookies. The description of another race seemed like it could be either the Gorns for Star Trek or the Sleestak from the1974 TV series Land of the Lost. The main character even botches one of the characters names and calls him Sleestak.
The main character has many unique abilities. Some of those abilities make Nadia Comaneci look like a rank amateur. She could flip, dodge, duck and avoid better than Wonder Woman and the Agents from the Matrix. She also wasn't very slowed down by, seemingly, quite a few injuries.
I noticed many references to movies and television. These included Star Trek: The Next Generation, Land of the Lost, The Matrix, Battletech, Aliens, Avatar, Space 1999, Star Wars, Commando, Terminator 2. The description of one of the ships reminded me of the Romulan War Bird from Star Trek: TOS.
Overall the story was pretty good, but could have been better, especially if all the grammatical errors had been fixed. With this in mind I would still recommend this series.

Changling meets prophecy.

As the wrong words piled on with the missing words and extra words, I wondered what happened to the editing. Then there was the sudden gap as we went from being attacked by wrecked ship survivors to landing in an escape pod. Then as we wake up from surviving the final battle we are attacked by the foregoing survivors. This is a YA story about a confused 18yo girl who was born with a deformity of having only two arms rather than four. She discovers that she's ablr to change into a frog girl or a beast girl. She's identified as a prophesied one who will save the Yarda sector from its internal wars leaving everyone in peace. So, for the most part she's constantly on the run from the authorities. Then comes back home having been branded a fugitive and a traitor, and starts commanding everyone around as if she were the supreme commander. It you can stretch your head around that, then maybe you'll like this book. Count me out.

B-A-D

Terrible spelling
Terrible grammar
Terrible sentence construction
Triple line spacing between paragraphs
Single word paragraphs
Acres of blank space
Books no longer than chapters
Irrelevant authors comments within the story
Constant repetition
Add a huge continuity error
Welcome to this load of rubbish

Good

While the story is great and the players are easy to follow, I had some detachment when I encountered typos and the place where you jump ahead in the story. I was left wondering what just happened.....you will find it at the end of the book. Felt like it was dropped on the floor and poked in as a last thought. Proof reading would/should have caught this blunder.

A really good read.

although I really enjoyed this series, I was somewhat disappointed by the glaring spelling mistakes. Whether for weather, to for too, and many others, just a little extra effort on the part of proofreaders would have caught nearly all of them, and made this effort so much better.

Really great series. I highly recommend it.

I started this series on a whim. By the first chapter I was hooked. This is a fast paced story where a young girl gets thrown into impossible situations. She loses a lot along the way. But she ... ok no spoilers. ;) Also this book is ok for younger readers that are ok with death and battles. Thumbs up!!

Creative writing, more than a writing exercise.

I enjoyed the collection from start to finish. New characters with not much in a way of human physique, but human emotions are intact. Well written, and keeps you engrossed by the tales and story narrative. Kudos for the ideas of new beings being created, worlds, and science.
Caution, spelling and grammatical errors.

Decent read

It is entertaining but way too many typos and grammatical errors. Even authors notes were present noting where corrections needed to be made. Could use a few hours of editing.

Very interesting story.

Well rounded characters for the most part. Brie was often annoying, as any 18 yr old can be. Mr. Bell, get a better editor, though. The spelling and syntax mistakes were very troublesome

The first two books were good... The next two only decent... Then, unfortunately, the story went downhill from there. The last 4 books were a slog to get through. I put the series down, read four or five other books before coming back to finish this one.

Needs a good editor

Had trouble getting past all the punctuation, spelling, grammar and tortured sentences. Way to much blow by blow account - time should have been spent on the characters.

Where was the editor?!

This could have been a pretty good tale if it were not for the incredibly lacking editing. There were even edit notes left in the body!!!

What a waste of money.

Action packed

The action is unrelentingly fast and roller coaster. Brie Northstar is a exceptional heroine.
Love to read more. Outstanding plots.

The story kept me from wanting to put the book down waiting to see what would happen next. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys science fiction space stories.

MORE!

This series has the potential for prequels AND sequels. I, for one, would love to see that happen. Thank you, good sir.
