Funny, relevant and very accessible reading. Don’t be scared of the amount of pages (not many), the book has all necessary information in the right amount. Would definitely describe it as an absorbing book. However, would not really call it as a book about emotional intelligence but rather a book about how to be happy and how thought framing rules your mind. Very insightful!

Includes entertaining small illustrations for specific cases. Can be read very fast due to the small format.

i'd give it 3 stars just cause it reminded me of who i actually am, gave me an optimistic view of life -and by that i mean not being trapped in the past- so thank you and i really liked the feeling of talking to myself.

This book is perfect for those who want to read something based in Academics, that treats you like an intelligent human being, but breaks it all down so that it is easy to read as well as having great insights and a whole lot of humour. This is the bridging book between more "learned" tomes and some of the lighter Self-Help books (written by an Academic who admits to having a slight Self-Help Book Addiction - don't we all?)

This book is fantastic. As the Author says, some things are so simple, and yet so hard/complex. There are "lightbulb" moments in this book - things that make so much sense it's almost like "I knew that, but I didn't know" (or I've forgotten that I knew) - and now it has been explained so well, it's so obvious. Unlike my review, which probably makes no sense at all - so just go and read the book. Trust me - it's brilliant!

I bought this book during an “art of brilliance” workshop which I found very inspiring. The book started off well, but as I read on I felt it jumped around a lot. The author seemed to make a point and then not follow through with it. There were also some very stereotypical comments made (his view on families in particular was very non-diverse, and seemed to not acknowledge that there are dynamics beyond the out-dated ‘nuclear family’). There were some good takeaway’s from this though - it encouraged me to focus more on the positives and start appreciating the little things (and not wishing away Monday’s!)

The most beautiful, interesting and inspiring book I've had in my hands for years. The author has a PhD in Positive Phycology and also wrote 20+ children books. Each page makes you think and wonder. All the illustrations are beautiful. Holding the book and even reading few pages can make you happy. :)

Neither a 'little' book, nor does it remain on 'emotional intelligence'.
Won't appeal to everyone due to the author's use of 'I' and his conversational style ramblings, yet there's plenty of research highlights to strike your grey matter and have you practicing the power of positivity, to name but one valuable lesson.

First book of 2019 finished, though I was lucky it was short and easy to read.
Lots of neat little nuggets of wisdom in here, some I’ve encountered before, but it’s nice to reminded of them at the start of the year.

Not for Kindle

The book looked really good and the price was fairly inexpensive from Kindle. What I failed to check was if I could change the font. I mainly use the Dyslexic font that comes with Kindle. No. Unfortunately I can't change the font at all. That's a big negative.

Was a bit too wordy and draggy, I had to skip a few pages per chapter but I really liked the chapter on family intelligence and how to communicate to children more, felt like it does help educators too.

I enjoyed reading this book. i like that it's organized in different chapters. and it's concise, easily digestible and relatable and also practical. one of the more credible and useful self-help books out there. also the drawings are very cute.

Some interesting ideas and quotes in here on a subject I find really interesting. The book tries to hard to be quirky and funny so much so that I personally found it a bit distracting but I appreciate others will enjoy the format.

I started off hating this book, but it quickly charmed me. A lot of the information is well-known and - at points - cliched. However, they are written in an interesting way and it gives you memorable advice. 'I am not a cucumber' might be one of my mantras now.

Thought Provoking

Good book overall, the only distraction was that it is not readable on Kindle due to its a JPEG format.

For someone who doesn't get jokes and is more into abstract science, this one wasn't the one. I loved the idea, but personally struggled through this one quite a bit.

The way of writing requires some getting used to, so don’t put it away and binge read it like I did ☺️. Take a nice walk or some time in nature afterwards and start pondering 🤔. Yeah Duh! Doors are kicked in and some mirrors will be in your face, but it was worth every minute I spend on it.
