I loved reading Billir and Javon's love story

I loved the closeness and true love between Billie and Javon. I feel like Javon should have stood up to Toya and probably never dated her too. She showed him a lot of red flags but I understand why considering how close and intimate Billy and Javon were with each other. Vince surprised me with his reaction towards Billie. The fact that his crazy behind made Cameron and Billie both transfer schools is ridiculous. I'm surprised he didnt have more repercussions for his actions towards Billy whe he was the one constantly cheating on her. I loved how Lashaunda and Nia meshed so well with Javon and Billie. This was a great story and I enjoyed every minute of this young love!!

Javon and Billie

Ma’am all I could come was envision LL Cool J’s Teenage Love as I read this story. Man we fell in love quick didn’t we as kids, lol!!! But what’s so strange and young as they were, it was so obvious that fear will have out here looking like what happened. Maybe we should see how they maneuver college together before they get married or if they get married first then college.

A beautifully crafted romance. Authentic to teenage thoughts, feelings and motivations. The author's take on young love, family and friendships is uplifting. The pacing is good, conflicts believable and dialog realistic. A highly enjoyable read, and a refreshing perspective where teens are respectful of themselves and others.

A love story

This is beautiful story of Billie and Javon. They start out as friends and eventually the friendship evolves to a beautiful love story.

Although I wanted to shake some sense into Billie throughout the book, I also found her character likable and well written and at times I understood the reason for her actions.

Overall, I enjoyed the story and thought that it was fresh and real. Filled with emotion that will melt your heart.

Beautiful love story ❣️❣️❣️

They started as friends and grew into a love that everybody could see. Even if they couldn't or didn't want to cross the boundaries. When they finally admitted their feelings and became a couple and they held on to their beliefs about no sex before marriage. Truly beautiful love story about a best friend relationship becoming so much more.♥️

Enjoyed it

I really enjoyed this story. Billie and Javon could deny their feelings for each other but it was obvious to everyone. I was glad when they finally stopped fighting. Vance had some issues and he needed to just let go. I liked Cameron. Nia and Lashonda were good friends to her. Overall a great a love story.

Absolutely Beautiful

I absolutely loved this story! I swear Billie got on my nerves, and I wanted to shake her a#%. Vance needed that beat down Lachonda gave him. It was well deserved. Javon was just as sweet as he wanted to be. I'm really happy he broke things off with pyscho. I thought I was going to have to strangle that heifer. There wasn't a dull moment in this book. I'm glad I finally read it!

Sweet, but....

I liked the majority of this story but it was a bit much at times. I know going in that a YA story might be a bit...thin at times. The dialogue and content might be a little less complex when dealing with younger characters. With Billie falling in love and having butterflies for someone new every time you turn around, it's kind of hard to enjoy her and Javon finally getting together. I almost wished he would have found someone more stable in her feelings for him, especially after the nut he ended up dating then apologizing to. After deciding he was finally worth being with the story comes to a semi rushed ending. The epilogue wasn't you're normal "where are they now" type of sweet look into their future, it was a quick recap of their beginning. We know that part from the flashbacks in the story. After Javon finally gets his girl, it would have been nice to see how things worked out. This is an at times, sweet, clean read for a YA.

Welcome to Saturday’s Child, my fellow Book Dragons. I hope it was a good one, if was spent with your nestlings, I know it was. This evening’s Gem is quite beautiful. Blue in color, many faceted, it not only reflects the light upon it, but throws back light from within. A deep and mystical blue that glows deeply, and emits a feeling of love and peacefulness, but hold it just right in the light and the blue turns deeper, like the sky before a storm, like the sea before a hurricane. This is “Mine Forever” by Gem Maker Skylar Nightingale.
This is the tale of two people Billie Rose and Javon. Best friends since childhood, they love each other more deeply than anyone they know, perhaps even including their parents. Both only children, they have clung to each other in good times and bad. Now teenagers, they are faced with some pretty powerful emotions. Their relationship is starting to interfere with romantic relationships as their respective boyfriends and girlfriends do not take well to the friendly hugs and kisses, the amount of time they spend together, the long walks and the late night talks. Were they of the same sex, it would probably seem normal to everyone that they were so close, seeing as they have been friends since third grade, but they are opposites and this is becoming annoying to say the least. Well, annoying for those around them. Afterall? Would you be pleased to share your significant other with someone of the opposite sex? I know I would not be pleased. I believe it was Nora Ephron who said men and women cannot have friendships because sex gets in the way.. you can correct me if I am wrong about either the paraphrased quote or the one who said it.
But one day Billie Rose comes to Javon with devastating news. Her family is moving. Far away. From their home in Connecticut all the way to San Diego. The parting is painful to put it mildly. Javon throws Billie Rose a going away party. They give each other gifts. Not your usual parting gifts. These gifts are expensive. The kind of thing you’d give a significant other or that is how their significant others’ take it. It’s not pretty. Billie Rose’s boyfriend breaks up with her over the gifts. Javon’s girlfriend is extremely angered.
Billie Rose tries to make a life for herself in San Diego. She makes new friends. She even starts dating again. The new boyfriend seems okay.. but is he? Javon can’t protect her now, like he did before. Her body isn’t adjusting well to all the stress. Her new friends love her and really care, but even they can’t take Javon’s place and what about Javon?
He’s trying to cope. His girlfriend is insecure because of the party. She somehow figures out that he’s still talking to Billie Rose quite a bit and she is extremely jealous. He misses Billie and constantly worries about her.
Will they get together again? Or will they learn to live without each other and cope with life alone? Or will it finally be as every keeps telling them – stop just being friends and finally get together. You two were always meant to be together.
I liked this book. It’s a really nice love story. It has realistic characters for the most part and sensible and wise advice that is not delivered in a preachy manner. The teens act like teens most of the time, rather than television versions of teenagers, which is refreshing. The parents are intelligent, wise and hard working. They are not Hollywood Oafs. I hate when parents are treated as idiots and Ms. Nightingale does a brilliant job here. There were a few things that were a little, how shall I put this, far fetched for me.
All the teens in this novel are pretty or handsome, beautiful is often used. No one has a bad complexion, is overweight or worrying about their hair. Everyone’s family appears to have money of some sort and everyone’s parents are successful. The only single parent household here still has signs of money: a huge house and a BMW for the teen to drive. In addition to this, there is a lot of canoodling going on, but only one couple has sex. There is a pregnancy scare. By ‘canoodling’ I mean teens are constantly sleeping on the same bed, girls laying on top of boys, boys and girls going away for weekends together, etc., but everyone seems to stop when it’s time.
I’m sorry. I went to highschool. I know that is not how this works and I went when things were still relatively conservative for everyone. I’m not sure teens would see this as being believable. It’s a wonderful book, it’s just this part that I am not sure actually holds up.
It is currently on Kindle Unlimited for FREE. Despite my misgivings in the intimacy department, I would suggest you download and read it with your teen. It would be a great book to start some really important discussions. It’s fun to talk to your teen and if you are not sure how, use this book as a catalyst.

🍁Today I'm gonna recommend you the book which is interesting. So the book is "MINE FOREVER (A young adult romance)" by @skylarnightingale .This book is one of the most cute and romantic book with a very cute lovestory. The plot is really interesting and engaging.

🍁This one is a fiction read and lovestory of 2 best friends.Let's come to the cover, language and content of this book. The cover is good, language is very basic english and its pretty easy and interesting, the content is really good.

🍁This book is a true masterpiece with having authors personal touch. "Mine Forever" main characters of this book are Javon and Billie who played a very important role in this plot. I loved the character because they have there own importance in this whole novel and also their character makes this story more beautiful.

🍁The thing that I liked about this novel is that it starts from Javon's point of view and he carried away it for a while quite well. In this book you will see the flavor of mild humor, romance, and a amazing storyline. This is a love story of 2 best friends who are the main character of this novel. The whole plot revolves around these 2 characters where the boy is in love with the girl and girl is totally unaware of that and see him just as a friend. And gradually they started falling apart from each other.

🍁This one is definitely a very cute read and a page turner. Every page brings you something new and interesting. This book will make you cry, make you laugh and also gonna bring your old school days back.

Always Mine

Young Love. Oh to be young and in love and not have too many cares. Javon and Billie were in love from the moment they played with each other, on the playground, in third grade.

I liked that they loved each other enough to give each other the space and time, they deemed necessary, so they could remain best friends forever and not cause any issues, yet it was all wasted time. These two were meant to be together.

Javons' girlfriend, Toya, was a nutcase, yikes 😬🤦🏾‍♀️. I'm glad he saw the light and let her go for good. He was a good guy and she made him feel as if he was wrong for caring for his best friend, whom was there way before she was even a thought. She would've replaced my Rolex watch tho...who does what she did🤷🏾‍♀️.

Billies ex Vance was bat crazy as well. How do you cheat on someone, multiple times, then proclaim that they're " your girl" once she's moved on, and call her names? I'm glad her parents let her go back to Connecticut because he was beyond dangerous. I didn't care for Billie dating Cameron, Vance's friend, even though I know she was just being a friend at first. I'm glad Cameron was smart enough to move away so he could protect, as best he could, Billie from Vance.

This was a sweet, young love and warm feeling type of read. All the friendships were so great. I need a friend like LaShonda😏.

Although this kind of dragged, it was a really good read.

....Okay. I feel multiple ways about this book. I rated it a 3, because I really like the male MC for the most part and the sweetness of their connection. This book fell short when it came to the extreme "high school teenager" antics and dramatic thought-processes. It became hard to like the female main character due to her behavior and interactions with others during the second half of the book (trying not to give away spoilers). Honestly, I skimmed from Ch. 13-16, because I just could not deal anymore. I liked maybe 60% of the book. I may try another book by this author, because I enjoyed her writing though there were grammatical errors. I might need to try another genre than YA romance from her.

This is the story of Billie and Javon they have been friends since the third grade they live next to each other they develop of very close friendship and through trials, distance in all kinds of tribulations they fought desperately to maintain their friendship. A TEENAGE LOVE ❤

My very time reading this author's work and I love every part of this book. Very well written and the character development was great. I loved Billie and Javon's friendship. Bestfriends who have a bond no one can break. But what happens when you develop feelings for your bestfriend and you don't want to ruin the friendship. Sometimes you just have to take that chance and hope that your friendship is strong enough to move on to that next step of building a future together. From the trials and tribulations of dating new people there's nothing like the love you have for your bestfriend. Billie and Javon realized they were meant to be. Beautiful story

Although I'm not a big fan of YA romance, this one actually made me tear up, which has been an impossible feat with what has been going on in the past few months. The author did an outstanding job with these two young adults as we read their journey from late childhood to early adult hood. And thought it's meant for teens and young adults, I think adults over the intended age group will enjoy and get something out of this story. It was a very good and emotional read. I will continue to look for more books from this author.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
