Luce returns to Eureka after her failed marriage. She is trying to start over when she runs into Conner on the street. She reconnects with him after she tutored him in high school. She is attracted to him but he has a girlfriend. Conner can’t stop thinking of Luce after he sees her again yet he has a girlfriend. But his girlfriend seems to be distancing herself lately. After he finds out why he breaks it off with her. After a time he starts to date Luce. There is much to this story. It has love, laughter, tears, heartache, and pain. It has behind closed doors sex in it but nothing more than that are discussed. This is the second book in this series that I have read and it is fun to see characters from the other book mentioned here.
I absolutely loved the seamless way the author used the setting as a secondary character. The town felt so real, I almost feel like I’ve visited there! Sweet story, great emotional development of the romance. The writing flows, and all the pieces fall together nicely. Great vacation read!!
I really enjoyed this book! The author did a great job keeping me hooked from the very beginning! There are a lot of ups and downs, not sure if that HEA will happen. Realistic human reactions and misunderstandings to situations that make you wonder if they will ever get their act together and just admit their feelings. There were a couple spots that had a blip of intimacy detail but doesn’t get graphic and the characters don’t “jump into bed together” but the temptation is there which makes it more realistic. The narrator For the audiobook the narrator, Kristin Price, did a great job as well. She helps draw you into the story. She isn’t my favorite because of her voice but it’s not annoying like some narrators I’ve listened to and I’m sure most people would find her pleasant to the ear. I’m happy to have found another author I enjoy! *I was given a copy of the audiobook in exchange for an honest review
Luce and Connor both lied to each other by keeping secrets. Luce had a nasty lying stealing ex husband and Connor was abandoned by his cheating father, so they both have trouble trusting. Their relationship was rushed and Connor jumped in without really knowing her, without knowing that she had been married before. I didn't like that he wouldn't let her explain when he found out and he used her to make his mom happy. He made her feel low about herself, just like her ex did. He does grow up in this story, but it took a lot for him to realize he was wrong and what he wanted. I loved that they were both artsy and that she created her own pottery. Her spunky friend Caroline is great and deserves her own love whether it's with her ex or not.
The narrator has a nice even tone with voice changes and inflections in all the right places.
Luce ex-husband was taking money from their accounts which caused her to lose her business. After her divorce, she moved back to Eureka. That's where she ran into Connor. He was the shy guy she tutored in high school. He always had a crush on her. Connor has trust issues. He was upset that she didnt tell him her secret. He used Luce to deceive his mother before her death. A story if secrets, lies, miscommunication and love. Kristin Price narration is excellent in this story. She is a great voice performer, depicting all the emotions, accents and giving each character their own personality and bring the story to life. I was gifted this audiobook From Story Origin and offered my honest review
What a great romance read /listen. Narration was perfect and the story line had great flow. Sweet more than heat but still great chemistry between our main characters - Conner and Luce. Although I did love the friends and Luc'es sister - their dedication was great and realistic. I really loved the inner turmoil as well as the character growth they both experienced. I also really loved the lessons - ya know, love isn't always enough - there has to be communication and trust too. A beautiful love story all around. Sometimes when the love is real, it's easier to forgive!
This book was given to me for free at my request and I provided this voluntary review. *this review is based on the audio version of this book
I listened to the audio version of this book. This author was new to me and I really enjoyed her story. It was well written, it flowed really well, the characters were well developed and I really felt the emotions of the characters. The author gave enough background on the characters to give the reader a good feel for them. The story had some surprises and the story line kept me listening intently. Not only was After the Fall very well written, but the narration by Kristin Price was also exceptional. An all around great experience! I was given a complimentary copy of this audio book. All thoughts are my own.
It is funny how we protect ourselves by building up walls and barriers, frequently against those who could help us with the initial issue. And then those walls become so rigid that we can't get out and others can't get in. If one is invested in the concept of the sanctity of marriage, it becomes more of a stretch to suspend disbelief enough to "buy into" a fake marriage, despite the popularity of the trope. Nonetheless I found myself invested in the narration, warmly and expressively read by Kristin Price, and enjoyed the story.
The narrator enhanced a well written story, leaving me captivated. This was more "real" than any romance novel I've ever read, especially as a PG version. There was heat, but a sense of privacy. I enjoyed listening to the story unfold and the narrator truly brought the characters to life! I applaud the author for writing something that I believed and for transcribing what life is REALLY like sometimes: people have unhappy endings sometimes and love is as complicated, as it is beautiful.
Luce is back in Eureka after her failure marriage and the lost of her business due to her ex-husband. She is now working as a nurse. When she stumbles along Connor, an old friend from High School, something stir inside her. A hope of a second chance in love. Connor I send been in love with Luce since she tutored him in Hugh School, back when he was a shy boy. Can they have a chance with her fear to tell Connor about her past and Connor been very aware of lies or secrets? The audiobook is great
Wonderful story. Luce and Connor both have a lot of baggage which predates their relationship. Luce is happy for a return to normalcy. But Connor is still driven by his childhood. An emotional rollercoaster. But, those emotions are what makes the story so great.

**Audiobook Review** I was given a copy of this audio book for an honest review. I really enjoyed listening to this book. It is narrated beautifully by Kristin Price. It’s a wonderful story full of healing & finding love. Talk about a page turner & one that has ALL the feels! The characters are so well written & relatable. I recommend reading this book.
Great story that was intriguing, original, and enjoyable to read. It definitely included some twists and turns I didn’t see coming, all of which were a delight to read.
I wanted to like it, but there were a few swear words, super steamy kisses, and a dying mother. Plus there was a ton of innuendo. It really wasn't my kind of book.
A real tear jerker in places. The characters in this book have a lot of struggles to get through before the end, but there is an hea. Very well written, good characters, and an excellent narrator. I received a free review copy of the audio version of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Angst and tension, inadvertent deception, a slowly blooming love that is so fragile. What a crazy, mixed-up situation they find themselves in! A heartrending and simultaneously heartwarming story.
This was a great book! I really enjoyed the characters and the town... This could totally be turned into a movie! It was realistic to have baggage and work through it... sometimes we don't know why we are called to someone, but we are. I saw that in Luce and Connor!
this book was sweet - not my usual sexier read - but was still fun. the characters were nice, but at times not very captivating. I received a free review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
