A charming story about bravery, perfect for fans of Eric Carle. Little Mouse wants to play in the woods. They are dark and full of big scary animals. But Little Mouse isn't afraid of anything – or is she? A charming story about bravery – with a hilarious surprise – from a Kate Greenaway Medal-shortlisted illustrator, who has been described by The Washington Post as "the thinking tot's Eric Carle".

Little Mouse is warned by a rabbit that going to play in the woods is dangerous, but Little Mouse enters the woods with confidence. Little Mouse passes a wolf, a bear, and a moose but is not afraid. When she sees a little house she goes in and sees a cat and is so scared she runs out of the forest.
We all got a little chuckle out this book, but it is not a book we will pick up for a second read. Everything is just average about this book. Averagely attractive illustrations. Averagely humorous story. Averagely likable characters.
Rabbit warns Mouse not to go into the woods because there were big scary animals in the woods. But Mouse says he's not afraid and goes into the woods to play. He meets a big scary wolf, and a big scary bear, and a big scary moose, but none of those big scary animals scare Mouse and he asks them each to play. However, none of the animals want to play with him and he goes on. Then Mouse sees a house. Inside he sees a cute furry kitten who wants to play. This time Mouse is scared and runs back home.
A cute book with lovely illustrations. I’m not sure how good a role model the ‘brave mouse’ is for a child (haha!) but a least she’s a little more sensible by the end of the story! ;) My baby enjoyed looking at the pictures whilst I read to him.
Little Mouse is warned by her friends to be careful of big, scary animals in the dark woods. Little Mouse isn’t afraid of the big animals she meets there, but something else makes her run home in fear. Cute story very nicely illustrated.
Nice animations but contrary to it being described as a ‘lift the flap book’, there is a single flap and it’s so big it’s practically a page. More flaps!
Brave Mouse isn't scared of big dangerous animals but she maybe there IS something that frightens her! Cute read aloud and I love the extra durable pages.
Unexpectedly adorable. It didn't follow a couple of the "typical" plotlines I predicted, and so it made the book considerably more fun than I thought it would be. Cute illustrations, too!
