Keeping Beth by my side is turning out to be far harder than I planned. After all, I couldn’t escape her when we were traveling with Leander and Taylor. She dogged my steps, flitted through my dreams, and took up all my waking thoughts. Now? She’s disappeared like smoke through my fingers. But I will always find her. Nothing can keep me from the one my soul is tethered to, not even this pit of a city, Cranthum. The slavers control everything, and they’re on the verge of the biggest market of the year. The Bazaar. With Beth at my side—along with a few more surprising allies—we will light a spark that will change Cranthum, and the summer realm, forever. But freedom always comes at a cost, and the price is often paid in blood.

Just give me the next book...

I don't know why I keep putting myself through this torture of what feels like never ending cliff hangers. Now I have to wait till August for what hopefully is the conclusion of these books. Ughhhh 😱
There is an uprising going on with many twist and turns. Beth and Gareth relationship continues but is put on the back burner .

I knew it!

And still I’m shocked?! To be fair it didn’t happen till the last sentence so like it was in question for the entirety of two books. However I knew this person would show his ugly face again and I knew for sure that it would be in this place, I still didn’t guess it would be at this time though. And damn, I’m salty about it. This book is a lot about dealing with old deep physiological wounds, and all they can do to us moving forward. It’s not the easiest read because of that but a solid edition to this larger tale.

The Bazaar by Lily Archer is book 6 in the Fae's Captive. This continues the story of Gareth and Beth's story who met in the previous book 'Taken'. This series does read better if you have read the previous books. Gareth is out to get Beth again who is missing and this time he is going to work harder to keep her.
This series is quick hot reads that have instant love with the hot alpha male working to keep his women. This book too does end to set us up for the next installment in this series.

Meh, the ending was at least a little interesting.

The Bazaar was eh. Things are getting crazy between Beth and Gareth. At least things got interesting throughout this but I still wasn't really into it. I just feel like the pacing was off with this short little book. Not going to lie, I was bored with most of this book that I honestly wanted to skim through it to the end. I'm hoping that the next book picks back up again because if the next two books are completely dull I don't know what I'm going to do.

“You get a lover, a fighter, and a jester- see how lucky you are?”
This series just gets better and better. This book was wild. We get to meet new characters that bring an intense adventure that I am obsessed with. I love this new twist so much! This one is angsty and sexy and so intriguing. I can not get enough of Gareth and Beth. Gareth is such an amazing male. He would do anything for Beth. His love for her is so pure plus he is so funny. I love him. Beth is definitely Gareth’s perfect match. She brings out the best in him and he makes her feel safe. I love her determination to help her fellow slaves. This was an amazing edition to this series and the ending had me shocked. I loved it and I can not wait for book seven. This one is one of my favorite books in the series.

So....

I usually do not rate DNFs but I had a friend tell me I should. So this me trying to catch up with all the reviews for the year of 2020. I promised myself to write more reviews! I have been so busy with bookstagram. So if you want to check that out: https://instagram.com/faemance

ON TO THE REVIEW!

Why didn't I finish when I so clearly enjoyed the last 5 books? Well.... Beth was my favorite character in the series because of her witty comebacks and tortured past. I also loved her obsession with wanting to see Taylor get it on.

It was entertaining and interesting BUT I was sorely disappointed when her story arc was basically the same as the first story arc with Taylor...

So this kind of peeved me. I like Lily Archer's characters. I LOVE FAE but I just couldn't bring myself to be okay with reading the same story basically ALL OVER AGAIN.

Not only that but all the reasons I loved Beth and her love interest was the angst and the denial between them. Not only that but also her humor is what made me love her. I feel like all of that is LOST. Beth is just the same pining love struck template of a character like in any book in this story arc

ANYWAYS I did not finish this book for those reasons... 2 stars because I still loved the series up until this point

This book was a little better than the last one. I enjoyed the development of the story and the characters. It has a few trigger points for some individuals but for me it was not bad and I was fine reading it. I am curious where the story will go but also not as intrigued as "omg" I need to finish this now.

I've read all the books in order so far, so I can't speak to complaints about worldbuilding. I got all of that previously and this one flows right along. All in all I like it, I'd give it closer to 3.5 stars but I can't bear to give it 4. Exactly the same shtick as last time. I find saucy Beth more likable than hesitant Taylor; I miss Taylor's mystery and growing relationship with magic (scratch that, really I miss my bae Selene) but the bit more adventure involved in this series is helping with that. Maybe it's because they're broken up into novellas, but the pattern of kidnapping, quick bite of danger, IMMEDIATE resolution is getting tiresome. Gareth and Beth's "deal" is a pretty contrived way of delaying the sex, but I'll allow it because we all love a bit of tension . . . however Gareth turning into exactly the same type of feral as Leander was just isn't doing it for me. I liked him because he was the cold and reasonable tactician to balance Beth's damaged wild child with no care for her own safety, the girl with nothing to lose. I was hoping he'd keep that teeth-gritting, slow burn descent into lusty madness, and turn until a freak behind closed doors, for only her to see. Maybe it's because I, myself have no interest in exhibitionism, but the constant practically-fucking-in-front-of-everyone thing really pulls me out of it. Maybe if I hadn't had to suffer through exactly the same thing with Taylor and Leander. It's a pity because the writing itself is good. Anyway, it's easy to tell exactly what the author likes, and I'll continue the series because I'm enjoying it well enough, but I'm not likely to try her other works.

RECENSIONE DI GIUSY

https://tralebracciadiunlibro.blogspo...

Mai.”

Format read: Ebook (KU)
Pace of the book: Fast paced
Tropes: Fae, paranormal world, fated mates.
Other things to notice: Book 1-4 is about Taylor and Leander. Book 5-8 is about Garett and Beth.

This is the first book that follows Beth and Gareth’s story as the main characters! The story starts right after where the last book ended. In the winter realm.

Is it possible to read the series from here without reading the previous ones?
Yes it is. (The author said so too.) The story follows another couple which where introduced in the previous books. Book 1-4 is about Taylor and Leander. Book 5-8 is about Garett and Beth.

Would I recommend it?
I highly recommend to read the whole series. Why you might ask?
As mentioned before the story begins right where the last book ended. And you won’t get the whole background story if you haven’t read them all.

About the book:
This whole book is about the Bazaar - slave trades.
The slaves trades are made from High Fae and they buy lesser fairies and changeling (humans.)

I actually really liked this book. One of my favorites in this series? Why you might ask.
I feel like this book had a stronger plot. Not just this particular book but the previous book too. The Garett and Beth books are in general more plot driven. Whereas the Leander and Taylor books are based on them going to the winter realm and they meet a bunch of challenges on their way, this (other) series has a particular plot - end slavery! The story follows Gareth who is a winter realm high fae and Beth who is a changeling and former slave. Through Beth’s experiences and eyes we see how the sleeves are viewed and mistreated and used. In the same time we follow our two MC’s who have joined some slave rebellions that want to end slavery.

The Bazaar is the sixth installment in this serial/series, and continues with Gareth’s and Beth’s story. The books in this series need to be read in order, especially since they all end in a cliffhanger and you will be lost if you haven’t read them all.

Unlike the earlier books, I didn’t like Beth much in this one. As a result, I struggled with this book and had a hard time finishing it. Beth has always been opinionated and a little snippy, which is understandable considering she was a slave who had been treated harshly and in ways I cannot imagine. In this installment, all Beth did was demand things of Gareth while using the promise of their mating to get what she wanted. She was a major tease, a hateful one at that, because she knew Gareth’s feral was desperate to claim his mate. You'll recall she was constantly picking on Taylor about mating with Leander and wanting to watch. Beth was like a different person who was only set on what she wanted, what she planned to do, and how she planned on doing it. She was blind to Gareth’s fears, and had no consideration whatsoever for his feelings or his need to protect her. Although Gareth was a sweetheart, he was basically driven by his need to make his mate happy and therefore did everything she said.

I waited the entire book for that one character to show back up and then it ended in another cliffhanger. I will obviously continue reading to see what happens, but I hope that Beth is more likable in the next one.

Beth has been kidnapped by her old friend and former slave Silmaran. Silmaran was sold by their old master and purchased by Chastain. The two fall in love and begin to undermine the city and its slavers.

Gareth tracks Beth down, but the disturbance brings the city guards to the door, and they must hide and do nothing when one of the slaves is tortured and killed.

Gareth is able to save him with his magic, and he and Beth agree to hear them out.

Silmaran and Chastain have plans in the works to start a rebellion, but Gareth could be the key to an even better plan.

Gareth goes undercover as a corrupt version of himself to impress the city leader Zatran.

Once inside Zatrans home, the plans begins and Beth is distressed to realise the plan is for Silmaran to be caught so that the slaves will rise up.

There's something fantastic happening in the romantic fantasy world....Lily Archer's Fae series. The otherworldly realm she's created is frightening in its perils, but it's filled with fun and imaginative characters. Gareth and Beth are my favorites thus far. He's gruff and witty, and incredibly passionate and protective with his mate Beth. She's a feisty and fierce changeling with a huge heart. And her loyal heart leads the pair to The Bazaar...

This might be the most emotional book in the series to date. Gareth and Beth, and the great cast of secondary characters, are caught up in the drama and depravity the surrounds The Bazaar, and the book ends with a nail biter of a cliffhanger. Now, not everyone loves them, but I do...the anticipation is part of the thrill!

Mate... Mate... Mate... Gareth must get his mate and take her back home to the winter realm where the High Fae, Lesser Fae and humans are equal. AND slaves are free.
.
Beth!! She has to save her friends who were taken south to the mines where slaves are brutalized. What will these two stubborn headed mates do. One High Fae and stubborn. The other utterly wounded and a human challenging at that.
.
Lily Archer twirls and twirls the wheel of fate to create an action packed story, where happy ever afters do not come easy. Will out people find their way back to the winter realm.
.
5 stars!! Tip of a hat towards to Lily Archer!!

Why do I do this to myself? I really need to learn how to DNF books because this series is turning into a waste of my time. The entire time I was reading this one I kept saying OK this is it I'm not reading anymore and then before I know it I'm finished. Thank Goodness these are so short.

The writing isn't the worst but again this is a serial series which means very little happens in the main storyline and a lot of irrelevant stuff happens in the meantime. We still haven't heard anything from Leander and Taylor. Beth is getting more and more annoying as the story progresses and Gareth is just a poor imitation of Leander with a scar.

I will say the plot of this one is probably the best. I really enjoyed seeing the fight for equality but that is probably the only thing I enjoyed.

Excellent tale........BUT!!

As the title says, the story is excellent and the pace is really picking up!! With new friends and allies, Gareth and Beth are in the thick of it!! Yet, an old nemesis has turned up and will he now slip a spanner in the works....we won't know until book seven, The Abyss!!
I still have to state about the value of the story, compared to the monetary expense for the book and audio!! Again if they were just two books, the first, obviously books 1-4, and the second, books 5-8 would have been far better than this!! So if you want to read them, do as follows.....
Get the books on KU and don't bother with the audio, as these books are NOT worth the expense!! Hence three stars only!!

Again this is a pretty good fantasy romance series The problem is that each book is more an installment in the series and definitely not a standalone. Fortunately if you subscribe to Prime they are free. Still, it would have been nice if the author had just put the entire story for each couple into a single 300 or 400 page book instead of spreading the out over 4 novellas. Now I've got to wait and see how they get out of their current mess at the slave bazaar and into their next mess in the Abyss which comes out at the end of August.

Continuation of book 5

I thought Beth's story would be over in this 6th book (Beth's 2nd book). However, it goes on. I have to say I like the back story. I want to know what's going on with the Summer Queen, those evil high Summer Fae, how this ties in with Winter Fae never having mates for years and why were the Winter Fae stolen. There are a lot of unanswered questions and I look forward to completing the series and seeing where it leads. I gave it 3 stars because I'm not a fan of Beth. I don't like her character and I was hoping to move on from her story.

I love the protagonists in this but there was just something missing in the previous book and this one 🤷‍♀️. I ended up skipping pages waiting for something to happen that I’d isn’t know was going to happen.

Such a shame, as I adore Beth but the plot just doesn’t hold my interest. I take ‘skipping pages’ seriously, I can’t disrespect the author in this way (not when I enjoyed the first three books in the series so much) so I’ll respectively stop reading and take the hint Beth’s story just isn’t for me.

I'm not quite so engrossed in this series. I think Gareth has yet to really convince me! Bringing in the special guest at the end, whilst predictable, should add some more interest. I still think some of the phalanx should have come to help by now. We know some of them can travel quickly, so I would have liked that, or at least communication!

I still love Beth. She is such a fun character with a good amount of depth. I can't honestly see how this can have a happy ending at this moment! But I'm sure it will!

I really enjoyed this series. The banter was a lot of fun - I enjoyed it more than Taylor and Leander but grumpyXsunshine is my favourite!
I will say that I would have preferred the series as two separate (but longer) books. One for Taylor and Leander and another for Gareth and Beth but that didn’t really take away from the story so much.
There were a few annoyances around key moments taking place ‘off-page’ (the showdown with the vampire hound alpha, large chunks of battles) which could leave you confused as to what is going on for a while. Also never finding out WHY the vampire hounds loved her blood so much? That is frustrating. Looking forward to reading more in the universe in the future.

Gareth and Beth

Wow! This series just keep getting better and better with each additional book. It grips you from the very first page until the last. Couldn't put it down. I am so loving Gareth. He is the perfect H. Always so willing and ready to show his love and lust for Beth at any given moment and he is not shy about it. Love the knew secondary characters witch give the story depth and emotion. Can't wait to see what happens next. Highly recommended

The Bazaar Book 6:
Stars: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Spice: 🌶️
This book focuses on Beth’s love story and the slave rebellion. This book was a little slower for me. Of course there was a huge cliffhanger again and all the drama. I think the reason I felt it was slower is that when I typically binge a series I like to stop around 3 books. But I understand where the author is taking us. So I’m ready to dive back in and finish the next two books.

Cliffhangers suck! But what an awesome book!

I definitely recommend this book and series. I read it in less than two hours, I couldn't put it down. All the right elements for a great story are here, love, friendship, intrigue, betrayal, the list goes on. I hope we don't have to wait too long for the next one.

Fight or Flight

Beth and Gareth are still trying to make it back to the winter realm, but so many things keep getting in the way. On the way they are pulled into a revolution and meet an old enemy. So many questions??? Will the slaves rise to the occasion? I can't wait for the next book to find out.
