Rescue Her Heart #2

Save Her Heart

Rate this book
Sal, Nat, and Catherine are back! After six months of exile, Salishan Bransen wonders what the future holds for her until a sexy blonde walks into her life. Before she knows it, Sal is mixed up in a Space Ranger mission to rescue a hostage. Only nothing goes right and once again, Sal is on the run.Working as a trainer at the Space Ranger academy, Captain Nat Reynolds is living a simple life with her love, Catherine Porter. When a mysterious distress call from Sal comes through, Nat must decide if she will risk everything and take on a new adventure to save This is a full-length novel, which can be read as a stand-alone book, however, it is closely tied to the previous story “Rescue Her Heart.” These books have a soft sci-fi theme but are significantly more focused on strong female characters in loving lesbian relationships.Review for “Rescue Her Heart” This is not the genre of books I would normally read but I love reading books from new authors and I found the book in discount thinking what do I have to lose. Well, I started reading and couldn't put the book down. It is an amazing story of adventure, tough and brave women, and a terrific love story. There were times I was on the edge of my seat. The story took many twists and turns, some romantic and hot, others terrifying and I never knew what would happen next.

This was a quick, easy, and fun read.

Save Her Heart mainly focused on Sal and her misadventures in space. Nat and Catherine from the first book made strong, supporting appearances throughout, which was nice to see. The heart of this story was more about Sal and Jade's mission gone wrong and how they were going to get out of the trouble they found themselves in. Whereas in the first book, the romance subplot was stronger as Nat and Catherine were falling in love. I thoroughly enjoyed myself as I read each exciting or nail-biting scene, including creatures who've been extinct on our world for millions of years. Luck certainly has a knack for descriptive narration. Sal proved time and time again that she was a formidable and when need be, lethal woman. So hot, by the way. She prided herself for having no honor or humanity for that matter, but she proved herself wrong anytime danger presented itself towards people she wouldn't dare admit she cared for, who were in the path of danger and willingly came to their rescue. Luck ended this story on a slight grade cliffhanger, possibly leaving a hint that there could be more. If there is another book in the works, then I want more of Sal and possibly a love interest, because as hot as she is kicking alien ass, then I can only imagine how smoldering things would get between the sheets.

I would have rated this 5 stars, but I couldn't help notice a lot of repetitiveness throughout regarding the narrative. It kind of irked me and pulled me out of the story momentarily. That aside, I recommend to anyone who loves adventure, space aliens, and hot butches kicking ass.

Wow. This was so much better than the first book. A whole lot of action, twists and turns. If there's a third book I'm getting it immediately 'cause Sal needs a lady! Also, this book had dinosaurs!! It doesn't get better than that.

What a thrilling, surprising and fun read! We're catching up with Sal ,Nat and Catherine. A new character is added in Jade. Most of the book is about Sal and Jade, but a distress message to Nat by Sal gets Nat and Catherine involved. Not a romance but a great adventure! 5 stars!

Ya gotta love Sal!

She’s the baddest badass in the 8 galaxies & she’s off on another adventure! I love stories with strong female characters and KC’s stories are full of them. Sal,Jade,Nat and Catherine are all complex, empowered women. They find themselves thrown together when Sal is accused of being an assassin. The journey to redemption is an amazing one and it takes them to a Jurassic park type planet. Will Sal get Jade off the planet in one piece? Will Nat stick to her Space Ranger code of honor and bring Sal in to be tried? Can Catherine keep everyone from killing each other and get them all home safely? Read this awesome work and find the answers to my questions! Well done KC! But one more question, will there be more from the 8th galaxy? 🤞

Having met Sal as the disgraced Space Ranger in the first book I was eager to see her get her happy ending. A tough butch who thinks she is dishonourable because of her 4 year stint as a Pirate shows time and again she is willing to risk herself when it comes to protecting those she cares about. Particularly Catherine and to a lesser extent Nat.
I loved that it reminded me a little of Anne Mccarthy Dinosaur Planet
I felt for Sal with all the betrayals (i felt) she had gone through on behalf of the Rangers and whilst this was not the epic love story I was hoping for I did like the ending and hope at some point in the future there will be another book or two that follows them.

An outlaw and a space ranger join forces on a secret mission to save the President.

Former Space Ranger and Space Pirate Salishan Bransen has been keeping a low profile until a gorgeous lady walks into a bar (sound like a familiar tale?). Sal falls for the bait and before she knows it, she is being offered a deal by the Space Rangers to rescue the kidnapped President with none other than the gorgeous lady herself, Space Ranger Jade Hamilton. Immediately everything starts to go wrong on this secret mission and Sal and Jade find themselves in one predicament after another. If they are not fighting for their lives then they are fighting the sexual attraction between them which is on a constant burn. Sal had an itchy feeling though and just before everything turned to shit she sent out a beacon to Catwoman and her gal Catherine - will they answer and if they do will they be able to rescue Sal and Jade in time?

This was such a fun read and I actually put this book ahead of my other “must” reads for the week because it is a KC Luck book and it is the sequel to a book a just reviewed and here we have Save Her Heart. I have to admit I was looking forward to who Luck would write to partner up with Sal as I fell in love with her character in Rescue Her Heart. Jade Hamilton is a strong-willed character and is nothing like Catherine who Sal fell a little in love with in Rescue. I do not want to give away Sal and Jade’s story so I will say that I was really happy with how everything turned out. Luck keeps the action moving in the story and to say the surprises kept coming is an understatement. I kept expecting one thing and Luck threw something else at me. I loved it! It was great being with Nat and Catherine again and watching how their relationship has grown and changed and how it changed again during the story. I love Nat and Sal’s relationship. Let’s just say that I love the trio together and they really work and I cannot wait to go on further adventures with them (hint, hint Ms. Luck). I am so glad I put this book to the head of my reading list and you should too. Save Her Heart is a must read.

Lions, tigers, and bears oh my… well not exactly. KC Luck has done it again.

She brought back ex-pirate ex-space ranger Sal, Captain Nat and Catherine for an exciting galactic ride. Love is still hot and heavy between Nat and Catherine, and Nat is working at the Space Tanger Academy when she gets a secure commlink message. The message triggers events that put her and Catherine in danger as they are wanted for questioning. Who got them into this, Sal of course, but where is she. Join them as they travel the galaxy is search of Sal.

Action, plenty of it; and adventure. Nat & Catherine are back but this is Sal's story. Deep cover work wears on this woman's soul, changed her, but not too much. She's well written by KC Luck. Boredom's well described by Nat's aimless thoughts & Catherine's keen observations. Instinct is written with effective description when the characters pause during interactions with Jade. It's not until the end that I learn who Jade is. Good writing. It could be a series but if not, it's a good ending for Nat, Catherine, & Salishan.

Satisfying sequel.

What a wonderful way to revisit old friends from Recur Her Heart and make some new ones. A character's backstory is revealed, and couple cement their future, a conspiracy, a race through space, a surprise planet. This book had all the fun. Some twists and some great reliable character builds. Best of all, loving relationships! Here what you pick up when you want the steamy and the kindness all in one package.

The irresistible and incorrigible Space Rangers are back!
Reformed pirate and ex-ranger Sal sends a cryptic message to Nat and Catherine that reunites the daring trio and a plus one. A terrific sequel showing Nat and Catherine deeper in love and the still stubborn and charismatic Sal adjusting to civilian life.

Eagerly awaiting a book 3

Poor Sal. Though I loved this book it was more adventure and less romance. I just keep hoping that Sal finds love...even though she’s always putty to Catherine. I really hope we don’t wait long for book 3 as I’m already over eager for it!

Loving Sal

This was an action/adventure story. I was expecting a lesfic romance with some action thrown in for good measure. Ms. Luck surprised me and what a surprise it was. I hope she realizes she has left these characters open for a LONG series. Well written Luck.

Good follow-up to the first book. I was surprised about the twist. I could see it coming but I still did not expect how things ended up between Sal and Jade. I actually liked the ending better this way. I would like to see another book someday as I quite like the characters.

Great sequel

The adventure continues when Nat and Catherine receive a call for help from Sal. Sal has been framed and stranded on a planet of Jurassic creatures. Rescue commences and a new adventure is born. Action and romance with strong women equals a good read.

While Rescue Her Heart was space action with heavy romance (and some hot sex scenes), Save Her Heart leans harder towards adventure. Sal gets a potential love interest/antagonist who is more than she appears, and Nat and Catherine make a few nice cameos. The Space Rangers have the usual corporate issues, and we get a lot of really nice character development with Sal.

There's also a reference to a harem planet so really, you can't go wrong with that. This book also falls into the 'lesbians but also dinosaurs' trope.

Some issues from the first book were more apparent in this one, in particular the othering of the WoC character, insinuating that tribal life is primitive, natives being awestruck by lighter skin, and use of outdated terms like 'almond shaped eyes.' The tech hasn't been updated and remains very 'now,' which threw me from the narrative repeatedly. Spaceships having a 'windshield' (there's no wind in space), lock fobs for spaceships, 'Uberlift' as a ride share company, all were very modern for a future space adventure.

They also end up on a dinosaur planet that is noted as having no active evolution, which is very confusing (as exciting as a dinosaur planet is).

It's still a fun ride, and the adventure is good, but the low-level, modern tech and the diversity problems made this a harder read than I would have liked.

It was okay. It had its moments of good, but the ending just turned me way off for the rest of the story. I wanted some resolution between Jade and Sal in the end, where they come full circle with each other and forgive one another, but then that didn't happen and instead we don't get that resolution, and instead, we get this other ending that works and is solid, but doesn't really make it a totally happy ending for Sal. Maybe Jade comes back and asks to be a part of the team. Maybe she asks for Sal's forgiveness and trust, but those are all just speculatives and educated guesses. I wanted more of Jade. I wanted Sal and Jade to open up to one another. That didn't happen.

Hopefully there could be a chance for another one in the future.

Finding New Horizons

Cat and Nat are settled in at the Space Ranger Academy when all hell breaks loose. Sal has been dragged into an attempt to rescue the President of the Eighth Galaxy. When she is betrayed and framed as the assassin, Sal manages to evade capture and ask Cat and Nat for help. Great series and fantastic adventure story.
