„Am ales sa public aceste pagini in chip de sine statator, si nu sa le prind intr-un volum de eseuri, cu speranta ca, avand in continuare o regretabila actualitate, ele vor reusi poate mai bine, in izolarea lor, sa atraga atentia asupra situatiei ingrijoratoare in care se afla poporul roman: aceea de a nu putea sa se organizeze la nivelul moralei de a doua instanta, pentru a crea o clasa politica si un nou principe capabili sa ne scape -- potrivit expresiei lui Machiavelli -- de coruptia in stadiul ei ultim. Voi vorbi despre minciuna nu in sensul ei privat (. . .), ci in cel public, asadar voi vorbi despre minciuna colectiva, in care unul sau mai multi ii mint pe multi care la randul lor sunt fie mintiti, fie mint in corpore, traind impreuna cu cei care ii mint intr-un vast scenariu al minciunii.“

About the author

Gabriel Liiceanu este un filozof, interpret și scriitor român. Discipol al filozofului Constantin Noica, în perioada comunistă s-a făcut remarcat ca interpret al filozofului german Martin Heidegger. Din 1990 este directorul Editurii Humanitas, una dintre cele mai importante instituții culturale române, proiect formulat în anii Școlii de la Păltiniș.

După Revoluția din 1989 a participat la principalele dezbateri publice din spațiul cultural și politic românesc, dobândind statutul de intelectual public important, dar stârnind în același timp și critici acerbe. În 1995 a apărut filmul documentar Apocalipsa după Cioran, după un scenariu de Gabriel Liiceanu, conținând singurul interviu românesc filmat al filozofului Emil Cioran. După 2000, a realizat împreună cu Andrei Pleșu emisiuni culturale de televiziune (Altfel, la Realitatea TV și 50 de minute cu Pleșu și Liiceanu la TVR1). În prezent este membru al Societății Române de Fenomenologie și al Grupului pentru Dialog Social.

La sfârșitul lui 2004, între cele două tururi de scrutin ale alegerilor prezidențiale, provocat de proiectul „Conferințelor Microsoft“ ce îmi propusese o meditație sub titlul „În ce fel de țară trăim?”, am dezvoltat tema „moralei de a doua instanță“ aducând în sprijinul ei interpretarea altor două surse clasice: Platon, „Hippias Minor” și Machiavelli, „Principele”. În fine, stimulat de temperatura electorală a momentului și de lunga istorie a tranziției în care trăiam de 15 ani, extrem de bogată în sugestii pentru tema ce mă preocupa, am încheiat mica mea meditație despre minciună cu „cazul României“. Am ales să public aceste pagini în chip de sine stătător, și nu să le prind într-un volum de eseuri, cu speranța că, având în continuare o regretabilă actualitate, ele vor reuși poate mai bine, în izolarea lor, să atragă atenția asupra situației îngrijorătoare în care se află poporul român: aceea de a nu putea să se organizeze la nivelul „moralei de a doua instanță“, pentru a crea o clasă politică și un „nou principe“ capabili să ne scape — potrivit expresiei lui Machiavelli — de „corupția în stadiul ei ultim“.

Gabriel Liiceanu https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/20... is the epitome of The Renaissance Man, at least what I understand of that: he is a philosopher, but also engaged in the arena, more recently talking about the failures of our president, he is also a general manager…

At least I think that is his position at our most important printing house, Humanitas, if it has not changed in the meantime – I even wanted to invite him at our house, ergo falling into the ludicrous position described by his friend and the other most important intellectual of the land, Andrei Plesu, in his stories about bizarre people-

Gabriel Liiceanu, Andrei Plesu and others were lecturing nearby, in Brasov, and I wanted to offer to invite them to stay at our house, on the brink of the forest, drive them around in what was a limousine back then, a Grand Cherokee, and that would allow me to listen to the conversation of the Gods of culture, if they accepted…

King Carol, I seems to be the most important historical figure, and paradoxically, a German did more than all the rest to change this country, for the better, we could take Ceausescu and say that he had a bigger impact, only this monster brought the nation to calamity, like in that dark joke, the capitalists brought the country on the brink of the abyss, and we will take a great leap forward – I am proud to say I took part in the revolution

Indeed, the world (what used to be the free part) is led by the ultimate Confidence Man https://realinibarzoi.blogspot.com/20... the epitome of The Liar, this man is sick, there is that recording where he talks about Unabomber, and how his uncle (‘great man, professor at MIT’) told him about the fellow, student there and much more along those lines, and we find that this was nonsense, and furthermore, something totally useless: why would anyone lie about something like that? And could one vote for such a scoundrel to become president? Unbelievable

După ce am înțeles și am simțit că oamenii de referință din viata mea m-au mințit, aceasta carte analítica si filozofica vine sa îmi aducă o altfel de perspectiva asupra minciunii.
Asta nu face minciuna mai ușor de acceptat sau suportat.
