The idea was simple: form a group of authors based on the mantra, “Do good things for the right reasons.” We are a pack – #WolfPackAuthors. Together, we expand exposure for our books, help one another with all aspects of the process, pick each other up when the lonely life of writing gets us down.
As with wolves, words can be dangerous or healing. The reintroduction of the wolf, hunted to the brink of extinction, carries such far-reaching results as to make vegetation grow on what was once barren, and to change the paths of rivers. Considering these powerful facts, we chose to donate the proceeds of this anthology to Lockwood Animal Rescue Center /LARC, a facility with a unique mission. They are one of the few organizations focused heavily on wolves, integrating military veteran rehabilitation into the caretaking process.
In this collection of work, you will find a showcase of many of our members’ talents: A young girl betrothed to a werewolf, yet her father, a human, is the true monster. Two snipers who lay in wait, an otherworldly supreme being watching them, in the form of a majestic wolf. A she-wolf sets her sights on a young woman, married to the man she loved. The paradoxical story of the big bad wolf, who through no fault of his own sets out on a calamity filled adventure. A batch of witty private investigators at work solving crime. A sarcastic banshee, a shapeshifting detective, and a vampire, all friends, investigate a string of murders. There are many others, varied in style or genre.
Come on an adventure with the WolfPackAuthors. We’ve got the stories you want; together, we hope to make the world a better place for wolves, humans, and those who dare to dream.

Once Upon A WolfPack is an anthology written by a group of talented and mindful authors who bring together an entertaining collection of short stories and poetry for your personal enjoyment.
The wolf is the heart of each story. “My silhouette is majestic As I stop in my tracks to listen. I am the alpha. Wild as the wind howls.” -Welcome to the Den by Lori Katherine
The themes and styles run the gamut of fairy-tale reimagined to shape shifters, Sci-Fi and even ladies of the manor with extended claws, when they fight their rivals for love, hearth and home.
For less than a latte at that fancy coffee place you linger in every morning, you should consider buying this collection to support a great cause that helps displaced wolves and combat veterans find a new and shared purpose. Lockwood Animal Rescue Center WWW.LOCKWOODARC.ORG
In return you will have coffee-break-sized stories to read and enjoy anytime.
Just a few of my favorites: Yuletime at Cherrywood Hall: Pippa’s First Christmas by Veronica Cline Barton- “ ‘Pippa, may I present Baron Adrian West, of Oxfordshire. We saw Charles at the train station in London and he was courteous enough to invite us to stay at Cherrywood Hall this evening. I hope we aren’t inconveniencing you, dear.’ She looked as if she were coming in for a kill.”
Poppy by Tia Fanning- “Upon opening the door to Granny Hood’s bedroom, the wolf was witness to another most unusual sight. Wrapped loosely in the fold of a pink cotton blanket that failed to cover her blessedly ample and naked bosom, Little Red Riding sat with her legs on either side of a man. And not just any man. Paul the Hunter, to be sure.”
An Early Snow by Andi Marchal- “Walking in the primeval forest, so pristine I felt a tug in my body, suddenly making me want to run wild.”
True Nature by Luna Selas- “He rinsed his cup, placing it in the sink. ‘Honestly, Bridey there’s no need to worry about me. Silver bullets can’t kill me.’”
We read for entertainment, and occasionally to do some good. It’s fun to support indie writers and it’s even more fun to support them along with a good cause; in this case the Lockwood Animal Rescue Center, which has both an animal rescue function and supports returning military vets. Win/win. Once Upon a WolfPack starts with a thematic umbrella but embraces a remarkable diversity of stories that will: amuse you, scare you, make you laugh, creep you out, and provide entertainment. The tonal changes can be a little jarring but the quality of the prose and poetry is good through excellent. I gave this 5 stars because if was a fun read, included a few authors I knew, and a few unknowns who arrived as a pleasant surprise. Looking for a good read? Check this out; for the fun, for the good works and to pick out a couple of excellent scribblers and say to yourself – “I want to read more of his or her work!” Highly recommended with a Bloody Mary by the fire.
I want to note that I have only read one of the short stories so far in this anthology. I started with Veronica Cline Barton’s story and it was fantastic! I loved getting to know Pippa and how she spent her first Christmas at Cherrywood Hall. I adore the writing style and the way the author describes everything from food, clothing to scenery in all her books, this short story was no exception. I look forward to continuing on with the rest of this anthology in its whole very soon.
There's something for everyone in this multi-author short story anthology! Sci-fi, mystery, poetry and more! With a wolf theme throughout the stories, tying them together like a true pack, the stories are unique and varied, giving the reader a fresh perspective with each new read. The book is very large, over 550 pages, with a gorgeous cover, something to be treasured in a well-stocked library, to be un-shelved and read over and over. Recommend this one not only for the great read, but I loved that these authors came together to give back to the community by donating all the proceeds to the Lockwood Animal Rescue Center, which has a mission to rescue wolves and assist with rehabilitating returning military veterans. A wonderful cause indeed and a fantastic anthology!

The anthology has several different authors who tell some intriguing tales. Some made me smile, some made my heart skip a beat. I always find collections like this a wonderful way to learn about new authors. This group helps each other in their struggles to be authors, not always an easy thing, but they do write good tales.
These are short stories featuring wolf shifters, aliens, and other creatures of the authors imagination. Each author has a unique view of shifters and their friends, families, and enemies.
I normally never read fantasy books, but I enjoyed Luna Selas story in the Wolfpack anthology. It had sympathetic main characters and a good mystery for a short story. In other words, it had some substance to it. It was not just fantasy for fantasy's sake. I hope she expands on her characters and continues with the mysteries. Celia Martin
