Imara wants nothing more than to find a different course, but stealth magic gives her the credits she needs to stay on track, and there aren’t any other options rearing their heads. Stealth Magic is not what she thought it would be, and the idea of breaking into a home to rob an ancient artifact for her final exam was a little daunting. Luckily, Imara has friends who are going to help her through training, some old and some new. Through some work with the XIA, she finds a tutor for her training and a place to do it. Ritual Space offers her a welcome, and the inhabitants set themselves to the monumental task of her training. The exam is getting closer and time is a factor. Mr. E just likes chasing the enchanted bunnies of Ritual Space.
The latest short story in the Hellkitten Chronicles by Viola Grace. In this story Imara and Mr. E her hellkitten familiar are studying how to enter anywhere for the purpose of either stealing or assassination. For class purposes, it's break into one of the Halls (aka dorms) and steal an artifact of some kind.
In this one we get to visit with Benny and her guys again as well as take another trip to Ritual Space which was fun. And can I just say--I love the magic bunnies in Ritual Space a lot.
Ms. Grace does her usual excellent job with a short story, avoiding the whole "rushed" feeling you sometimes get with some authors.
Another great read. Loved the way she beat her family at their own game, especially the condescending attitude of her father. A new course. One that relies on stealth and cunning as much as much as on personal skills. She has to get in, retrieve a specific item and get out without tipping off any alarms or getting caught. However she finds an unexpected teacher when on a day out with Argus she finds a special stone. The stone has had several mage spectres fused into it. Looking for a place to store it she comes too make too new friends. One that offers help and the other that offers a mentoring position. When her final exam comes round she will need all that she has been taught to survive. Will she complete the task?
Imara embarks on her next course, Stealth Magic. She really has a challenge. Hyl has offered to Tudor her. Bara is making her a concealing outfit. Reeger , has the research material she needs and Kitty support and other supplies. Argus offers encouragement and support. In between her training she once again helps the XIA, where she meets Benny and her men. Her final exam sends her to her father's house. Meeting her father and brothers she gives as good as she gets. She is surprised by the welcome of her oldest brother his wife and their new daughter. Mostly she gets hostility. When it is all over she comes out on top. Fun and fast paced story.
I am such a can of the Hellkitten series! They really all have to be read in order, but that's no chore. The writing is quick and concise, the characters are wonderful and Imarra is a great heroine.
This story was a fantastic story. The storyline was intriguing, she finally gets to meet the family and sees how lucky she was. The characters were entertaining and interesting.
Can she be the first woman to pass Stealth Magic? She has her work cut out for but she has a great tutor!! Can’t wait for the next one and the next and the next etc!!
Loved this book, loved the characters. Lots of laughs, well thought out story. I was hooked from the very beginning. Can't wait for the next book in this series
Stealth Magic 401 is the forth in a series of books about a young woman who begins at the Mages Collage with only the clothes on her back and a goal to get through her two year training as fast as she can so she can become a consultant for the dead. Well, not ghosts as such, just the impression of mages and their magic that are carefully cultivated until their families let them go. She is a Death Keeper, and the only Death Keeper in a hundred miles around that can turn the spectures into fully realised beings.
Ending up in a college hall with its own specture in residence is just the icing on the cake for the start of a fantastic and crazy college career.
This series is a great set of stories about Imara Mirrin as she encounters new friends, newly met family including her twin brother and her long awaited mother. A handsome XIA agent, a fantastic hall mate and lets not forget her familiar, a little black kitten named Mr E.
It was great to see the crossover from the Obscure Magic series and revisit some of the characters in this book. It was even better to see our heroine best the male members of her family who think she is less than she is. I can't wait for the next book although the author has said it will be the last book in the series. I am sure with the crossover that we will see Imara and Mr. E again.
Good enjoyable light read, Good worldscape. Only issue is shortness of story. These 5 books are more like chapters and should be priced accordingly. The whole 5 are really 1 book. That said I still wanted to read the next one.
