In book 1, The Trusted, I likened the reading experience to a ride. The author to her readers at the end of the second instalment, in highlighting the next book says: “Strap yourself in, hold on tight for a ride you’ll never forget”.
In reading book 2 I have alluded to the sense of being on a runaway train, unable to get off, slow its pace but only too aware you are heading for the buffers.

Well, truth be told, Michelle’s writing is more than a ride, it is ‘a trip’. She writes well, in control of plot, pace and prose. Yet her style in combining genre and darting about with those different elements is like eating a bag of pick ‘n mix.
Reading The Dominant is not just about delighting in your favourite flavours or preferred candy it is a whole new experience. Like waking up in a sweet shop and being able to drink a fine wine while nibbling on the best Stilton. Listening to classical music without thought of gaining weight or rubbing your eyes. Are those really Oompa Loompas in a gravy boat sailing down a chocolate river?

So much happens in this book in such a short period of time. We knew Ellie was different following her scream. This led to Sam revealing to the love of his life that he was a MI6 agent. Unfortunately, his bosses were monitoring his domestic situation and believe Ellie’s own behaviour raises security concerns.

On a global level the President of the United States - Michelle loves a good set of letters or think of the true word count - POTUS, thinks he has a new weapon a Quantum Bomb to finally give it to the terrorists who make all previous baddies look bland and boring. Indeed it seems the world has gone mad, seeing celebrity status in the Al Nadir terror group and brandishing a gun or piece of C4 as cool.
The poor planet Earth is heading not just towards Armageddon but total annihilation.

Meddling in our affairs are some inter temporal deities tasked with our oversight but engaged in their own conflict.

No other book, lacks the ability to pigeon hole it’s plot and genre, than a Medhat novel.
She has a background in Tech, Science and Research. As an author she has combined her experiences, observation and presentation skills into works of literature that cross boundaries and are fresh and innovative in their application of the oldest stories known to humanity

Let there be light !

Darkness and Light, Good and evil. Quest for knowledge, duplicity and betrayal. Love, fidelity and how relationships can be changed but the heart is often truest. Sacrifice and brokenness.
Our understanding of the divine and others outside our physical realm controlling our destiny.

I grew up loving, A Man from UNCLE - bet Michelle knows what those letters stand for. SMERSH in James Bond were out for global dominance interesting Smerch is a Russian rocket system.
Star Wars is all about the force and shades of light and noir. Sex has always undermined agents and spies but the women here are powerful, no longer honey traps but in control and giving as good as they get but life and death remains the spies lot.

So much to admire here. So much left unresolved. Sam and Ellie’s relationship has been hot-wired and the author has demonstrated many aspects about truth and disclosure. Loyalty and where one’s heart will ultimately rest. These two feel key to the resolution of this series but unlike “I want you to die Mr Bond”., both appear to be left in situations where no human hand can save them.
Planet Earth’s last hope has failed because someone found Sam’s weakness and the terrorists have the knowledge and capability to dominate the world. Where all previous literary villains only dreamt of such riches and power.

I am so grateful for the advance reader’s copy I have received to give me the heads up in this series but it is just a pause. Catch your breath there is the promise of more and thrills beyond belief.

When MI6 kidnap agent Sam Noors wife, Ellie, they question and torture her believing that she is working for Al Nadir. When they kill Ellie during their torture, they panic knowing that Sam will kill them all.
Over in America, the CIA have captured 3 of Al Nadirs men, one being the cousin of Salim Al Douri. Can they find out the information they are after?
This is the second book in the series and the story reeled me in. It is a fantastic story with terrorism, love, espionage and some ScI-Fi thrown into the mix.
The love between Sam and Ellie made me want them to overcome everything thrown at them, I really wanted love to conquer all. The author writes a thrilling story that made me feel like I was hanging on by my fingertips! This is a very fast paced thriller that takes you on an amazing ride. I can’t wait to read the conclusion in The Resonance.

Al Nadir is Determined to Destroy the World

I found the second installment of the Trusted series to be even more tension filled than the first. Almost to the extent that I had to skip several paragraphs.

Michelle Medhat is the doyenne of investing her readers in the characters, until you can't separate their emotions from your own. This builds the anticipation to unbearable levels.

Focusing on the relationship between Sam and Ellie Noor, and the machinations of MI6 to infiltrate Al Nadir, the plot quickly becomes a heartbreaking race to save humanity at the expense of MI6 agents.

My mouth was so dry from sucking in my breath, by the close of this installment, I had to go brush my teeth. I'm starting the next one right now! So should you...

After finishing the first book (The Trusted), I was keen to see how the story carried on. And boy was I in for a ride.

Most of the characters from the first book are in The Dominant, along with a few new editions. The battle continues to rid the world of the evil terrorist organisation Al-Nadir, with Dr Sam Noor in the thick of it from page one. Some of the techy stuff is really eye-popping, pulling the reader deeper into the story as it picks up the pace and never lets up.

Sam really comes into his own in this book. You see the pain and anguish he's subjected to, trying to balance loyalty to the Crown and his wife. He's really put through the mill, both by his enemies and his allies.

The ending left me hanging but in a good way. Bring on book III.

Fabulous stuff.

After reading the first book in this sensational series, The Trusted, by Michelle Medhat, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on Book Two, “The Dominant”. The second book takes the reader to the edge as Medhat leads the reader on a tumultuous path of violence, torture, traitors, and revenge.
Picking up with Ellie Noor, wife of super-spy Sam Noor, being questioned and tortured by his own people, Medhat’s intense descriptions of extreme interrogation are nail-biting. This is not a book for the faint of heart. When Ellie shows unbelievable strength in resisting the interrogator, Spencer and Quentin resort to drugs to break her. Their plan backfires when Ellie dies under their brutal attempts to make her confess to being part of Al Nadir, assigned to murder Sam.
Meanwhile, Sam is in the US questioning Salim Al Douri’s cousin Rasheed who is high in the Al Nadir organization. Infuriated by the killing of his good friend and fellow MI6 agent Matthew Kinley, his wife and child, Sam uses the same methods on the Al Nadir operative that are being utilized on his wife. Little does he know what his wife is experiencing across the ocean.
Overseeing all of this action are the Kudamaz, the people of Kudamun who were assigned by the Ancient Ones to guard Earth. Separated from the world under their care by the Reality Gap, those on earth are unaware of their existence. There is conflict within the High Council of Kudamun as Aby-Od the current ruler struggles to save earth while opposing forces believe earth has failed to develop and is out of balance.
Medhat’s ability to combine espionage, science fiction, romance, and terrorism in a tale that is rife with characters that could be ripped from today’s news is mind-blowing. From American President Treeborne to British Prime Minister Ashton, the characters ring true. In a world torn apart by terrorism and superweapons, these two men are far more concerned with their own power. They move players around the world like pieces on a giant chessboard.
Salim Al Douri and his second in command Sabena Sanantoni hold all the cards to bring the world to its knees. While Sam Noor must work to stop them, he is also aware of the betrayal of his wife by his own people. Putting aside his own safety Sam struggles to perform all his duties, professional and private.
Medhat’s hints that there is more to Ellie Noor than meets the eye offers an intriguing glimpse at the direction the series may take. Once again Medhat leaves her reader hungry for the next installment in the series.
Readers who enjoy an action-filled series with vibrant characters and plots that twist and turn like loops on a roller coaster designed by Escher will love this book. It’s a no holds barred adventure in mayhem and madness that promises to keep readers flipping pages, frantic to learn what happens next.

“One spy's war on terror could decide the fate of humanity.” And so it begins…
The author writes of two worlds—one our “normal” world where terrorism, politics, power and love often dictate life and death, the other a world and a dimension that lays beyond the normal horizon of human understanding. Both are described with breath-stealing abandon. There are no plateaus, no lay-bys, no rest stops on this journey, only the screams of tortured souls and vengeful minds.
How many of her ideas for of the sci-technology she describes she has stolen from the UK Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL) or the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), I have no idea. Maybe they came from an ancient civilization…
Now, sci-fi is not my thing. In this book, I see it and move on — it is the ghost in the machine that explains many things in the story, but I’m not sure whether that overall control is needed or not. That said, but the human factor she writes of is anything but false. The love and loathing, even hatreds and obsessions, are normal, but they come pounding like waves on a hurricane swept beach.
It is a dark, brutal story, one that is not for the weak-hearted or squeamish. It is a quantum of terror, action, and spying in one intense, almost relentless 382 pages… a tale that leaves you hanging on a cliff-edge waiting to fall into the pages of her next novel — “The Resonance.”
Heart-pounding indeed. Continuously, relentlessly....

I read Trusted the first book in this fabulous series about a month ago, due to other commitments I had to put reading the second book on hold.

I made sure I gave myself the weekend off to read the next instalment which I loved, dare I say it, even more than the first book. It really is an edge-of-your-seat read. It has everything to keep the reader satisfied including some violent scenes that even had me hiding behind my fingers. And poor Ellie, she really went through the mill at the hands of her torturers. Not for the faint-hearted this part, I can assure you. Oh and Ellie is the wife of MI6 agent Sam Noor by the way.

Elsewhere, Sam is on a mission after his fellow agent and family are killed. Al Nadir were responsible and they're the ones torturing his wife.

To say more would truly give the plot away. Michelle covers all the genres in one gripping plot. I love the terrorism aspect and the fear it raises in the reader throughout. An action-packed adventure.

A fantastic read and I would highly recommend it to thriller fans for sure.

After reading The Trusted by Michelle Medhat, I was waiting for book 2, The Dominant to arrive. I wasn't sure how well the continuation would be. WOW!! I was blown away! You are thrown onto a high speed train, and wanting to rush to the end, but also not wanting to miss anything. Elle, Sam, and all the other characters are brought to life even more than before and you feel their pain and struggles. You want to extract revenge for the hero's so bad. And once you reach the end, you are dying to know what is going to happen in book 3. Michelle Medhat has become a new beloved author for me. I am waiting on pins and needles for book 3 and will be reading her other books as well. Do yourself a favor and clear a day to read this without interruptions, because you will resent any interruptions.

After Ellie learns that her husband, Sam Noor, is a super-spy with MI6, their lives are ripped apart. Salim Al Douri—the leader of an evil organization, Al Nadir—seeks Sam’s obliteration and plans to release a new type of bomb at a world summit. Meanwhile, the British government kidnaps and tortures Ellie, a feisty woman, after discovering that she knows Sam’s spy secret, as MI6 needs to know if Ellie is working for Al Douri. And if that isn’t enough, the darkness that grows out of proportion on Earth is noted by the mystical forces of Kudamun who keep planets in balance, but there too, a dark force is at work. This is a pulse-pounding book from cover to cover with a cliff-hanger ending. Narrator Greg Patmore is brilliant! I’m picking up the next in the series to continue the explosive rollercoaster.

Part 2 of this cliffhanger series

I am reading this because I actually got hooked on it. Terrifying , sadistic evil is threatening planet Earth . Sam and Ellie get captured by AL Nadir . The US President is insane for power . On the alien side , can the Protector be found in time . More evil and good there .
Again , typos, incomplete words, poor grammar .

Whoa, I thought The Trusted, the first in the series, was crazy, but The Dominant ups that a level or 2, adds in some madness, and takes you on a thrill ride.
There's so much going on, from trying to save the world from imminent take over by Al Nadir to Sam Noor and his wife both trying to survive various attempts to derail their lives, at times just trying to survive.
If you like spy thrillers I strongly urge you to try Michelle's books.

In true Medhat style, the author has woven a superb tale of espionage, lies & terror. Fast-paced & action-packed, book two in ‘The Trusted’ series is darker & more sinister than its predecessor, having a more personal edge when Sam Noor’s beloved wife is firstly mistaken as the enemy & then kidnapped in a terrifying & far-reaching ordeal. Add to the mix a deadly compound that threatens global security & you have a stunning thriller worthy of five golden stars!

I need more

I just finished The Dominant, the second book in this series and i can’t say how much I love it and what exactly I felt while reading it.
There are so many twists and turns and everything in between in this book that I felt my head spinning around in awe and had my heart broken for the things that Sam and his wife has to go through.
I just need more of this story!

Continuing the Story of Sam & Ellie.
The great story arc created in part one of the Trusted,
Continues here.
The story and characters are given much development
and the extreme and technical subjects are fine tuned and well researched akin to say, Tom Clancy.
Full of twists and and a third act that keeps the heart
Pumping. Kudos Ms Medhat- a stonking novel...

I got this as a arc e book for my laptop from the author. I enjoyed reading it. It had a good story to it. It took me longer than normal to read it because I took my time reading it and just read it a few parts at a time. I hope to read more books by this author.

Comments are really exactly the same as for the first book.

Funnily enough the subplots and sub-character vignettes are more entertaining than the main protagonists' are.

And the proof-reading is as appalling as the over-flowery language Ms. Medhat uses at the most inopportune moments.

This is yet another book that I received from the author in return for an honest review.

This story is a continuation of the previous story, The Trusted, and continues on with dastardly actions of the terrorist organization, Al Nadir, as they continue with their plot to stop The Summit.

This story contains some gripping images of torture and pain, with a bit of " huh?" thrown in the middle of the story.

That being said. one of the major pluses going for this book is that it has a gripping story with lots of excitement.

I am really enjoying this story and am therefore giving this book a solid four stars out of five.

As with all reviews, this is just my five cents worth.

The Dominant is the second book in The Trusted series by Michelle Medhat. I read The Trusted and just knew I would fly through these books. I found once I picked up The Trusted and then The Dominant, I just had to keep reading!

In this book, which continues from The Trusted, there are higher stakes than before. Ellie is put through the mill to under exaggerate! Sam is on a mission after one of their agents and his family are killed. Everything comes back to Al-Nadir.

Michelle Medhat has, yet again, written a hi-tech spy thriller that makes the reader get swept away with the world of Sam and Ellie Noor. It's a dark read that does become really intense. Brutal and violent in parts, I was so immersed in this world. As in The Trusted, Michelle Medhat keeps the quality of every character high. Each and every one of them could be real. My heart tore in two for Ellie at certain points, and I spent 98% of my time with my adrenaline, almost hitting the ceiling.

I love the tech that this author brings into her fiction and hope that we do see some of what she describes in the future. I would love to be able to 'wear' someone elses face! Amazing! And that's just the tip of the ice berg!

This is a series that I feel like I could just be inhaling the pages as I read! I adore the storyline, the drama, the tech, and the other world planes she integrates into these fantastic plots! I'm off to finish The Resonance now! Read this series if you want entertainment of a high level. You won't regret it!

Compelling and entertaining

The Dominant is the second book in the Trusted series by Michelle Medhat. After finishing book one on a cliffhanger, we return to Ellie, who has been kidnapped by MI6 on suspicion of being an Al Nadir operative.
We glimpse a world of subterfuge, double-crossing and backside-covering, as Ellie’s capture goes terribly wrong, the POTUS loses his quantum bomb, and Sam is on the war-path.
There is so much to like about this series! It’s a thriller, but refreshingly different with the inclusion of the esoteric Kudamaz. Dialogue is on point, the antagonists are terribly good, and the short chapters are perfect for our fast-paced world and short attention spans. I’m looking forward to book three.
