The tale of an Australian woman who had to let go of the past and look into the future.

Whether a loved one is taken from us through a prolonged illness or suddenly unexpected, our mind and body goes through a world of change. Death is something that we all experience at some stage of our lives; but not very often, hence we don’t get an opportunity to learn how to deal with it.

Rebecca Landers has a perfect life. A loving and devoted husband, a close relationship with her daughter, a wonderful job, and lots of amazing friends and family in her home city of Perth. What more could she ask for in life?

When a sudden unexpected tragedy strikes Rebecca, her world is shattered and she is confronted with having to cope with a future of being alone. As the days seems to roll into weeks, and then months, she knows she has to eventually draw on every bit of strength she has left and pull herself together. But how was she going to be able to do this? Could the answer be found during a visit to Seattle?

I I enjoyed this book from beginning to end. It was a great with the having characters that are well developed and engaging and have plenty of chemistry. The flow of the storyline was steady and smooth.

Rebecca's husband is killed, leaving her to go on with her daughter. Mitch, their neighbor, would like to be much more than just a friend. And this is their love story. They've both been hurt by spouses who died, and are dealing with the heartache of trying to move forward with new love. This is a very long book - really long, and I knew that when I started reading it. But there were so many times when it just dragged on. There is too much going on, too much information, too many details. Mitch's parents seemed a little off, and there were some things that either didn't make sense, or conflicted with other things that had already happened. I really want to love this book - I think that there's a very nice love story buried under all the clutter. This is my first read from this author; while I didn't love this book, I'll give her another opportunity.

Rebecca Landers tragically loses her husband and doesn't know how she will carry on with her life and look to the future. Mitch has also dealt with the loss of his wife. Is it possible that two heartbroken people could heal their hearts and have a future together?

I enjoyed this second chance romance story but found that it was a bit too long for the content.
