The gods are real...and they want their world back.Thousands of years ago, ancient deities fought a civil war that nearly destroyed the earth. They were defeated by a great warrior—and banished to spend eternity beyond the reach of the humans who once served them.

Their war is raging once again.

And once again, it will require a great hero to save humanity.

Unfortunately for humanity, I’m that hero.

My name is Vic Stratton. I’m no saint, but I’m the best chance we’ve got at surviving the chaos about to be unleashed. But hey, at least I have my good looks, a quick tongue, and the sword of the gods on my side.

And I’m going to need it. Because when the gods return, all hell will break loose.

Fun, fast paced mash-up of fantasy and modern

Great characters, enough development to keep you entertained, yet not drag the story down. Each book has a unique story arc, and leaves you wanting more. The final arc and closure is given away a bit early but you still have to read all the way through! Excellent series.

While I will agree with some of the reviewers that this might have been written for a younger audience it was really a lot of fun

Thoroughly enjoyed the omnibus of these books and it was nicely tied up at the end some of the storyline people had voiced their displeasure in that it seemed like it was written for a younger audience and I might be able to agree that a younger audience could enjoy this book but I am by no means young I love sci-fi and fantasy and I thoroughly enjoyed the entire series it didn't have some of the adult content other series do but it certainly had some good twists and turns throughout and I was sad to hit the end but happy because it was closed up so nicely well done

I enjoyed this book. I liked the fact that it was in present day on earth. A lot of different bad guys which made it interesting. Not bogged down with sex, loved that. However, I am reducing star for this reason swearing. A whole lot of swearing and inappropriate words. Since when is it ok to swear that much? The main character was the reason. She was suppose to be 28-29 years old. What I decided is that she was 18 and not mature enough to speak like a grown up and a smart ass punk. She gave people wonderful speech’s then after returned to potty mouth. Here is what I say. Hey authors, I *ucking enjoyed your damn book, I got a real boner reading it. You *asterds really put out a *itching book. Made tingles in my ass.
Why didn’t you use the *unt word? Only one you didn’t use.
Yeah, un huh, like it? Is it ok to use swearing, sure it is. But not every sentence, all the time.
The other thing is the ending was horrible. Main character gave up what made her special. She went back to her disgusting apartment. And hoo boy she wanted a real job. I don’t think she is trained in anything but fighting. Some other characters got a crappy end too. Really? No happy sighs of enjoyment for me.
Other than all I just said I would recommend it to others. Was a wild ride.

Started off alright

Started off alright, bit unbelievable that the heroine saw impossible things happen, yet buried her head in the sand rather than believe the truth. Have to finish things even if they're horrid, a strange n sometimes bad compulsion, but there it is, n just skimmed through it just to finish. All the characters personalities are the same. They do naught but swear every five seconds, same here derp wanna-be bad arse attitudes. Some things were annoyingly senseless, like humans are better than the Gods as we're merciful, yet hypocritically refusing to any. Claiming people were noobs asking what they were fighting, they were an expert now n knew all yet, next sentence, hey Marcus what are we fighting? Do have to admit there's less spelling n grammatical errors in this series than most of the books published lately. Yet, got what I paid for

It was a story to pass time in the cold winter months but after just a few chapters I was hooked it became hard to put down

This series was full of surprises as the story progresses you find yourself lost in the fantasy of the war and characters that appear along the way , it was well written semi exciting and in a way almost political with the gods set out to destroy the humans way of life turning them into slaves to their way of running out world 🌎 I just loved the story start to finish .
Only thing wrong with this story is since I couldn't put it down I have to find another series to read now as winter is still not over .
To the author 's good work guy's!

Won't be Forgotten!!

AMAZING!!! A total must read....can't recommend this set highly enough. It has everything you could want....God's and monsters, a hero underdog and a Roman centurion following instructions from a God-King....actually I can't list everything...too much!! Adventure and battles and characters that you will fall in love with (and hate) from every walk of life. Another cracking set from authors that deliver every time. Now I'm going to search my library...I'm sure I've got another one waiting!!

Loved the series

I loved the story line, and most of the character development. Frank slimming down and staying in control. Maya overcoming her dislike for violence and Vic learning to trust others. I thought the twist in the last book was awesome. I had thought the book was ending with a sudden sword thrust, but the change in the story took me by surprise.

I am looking forward to more books.
And I hope there is a window in the basement to let some light in lol

Absolutely Awesome!

I seriously struggled to put these books down and get things done, like eating and sleeping. These two crafted compelling characters that were gritty, brave and just plain old hilarious! This is the first series I've read by them, but it sure won't be the last!

Bad decisions

Arrogance and stupidity in a heroine is never appealing. Unwillingness to kill evil is not a positive attribute, it is cowardly and leads to more deaths. Cute idea but delivers the exact wrong message to young people.

An intense, enthralling , exciting adventure.

Vic,
what a hero! This adventure with her and her friends and co- heroes, all of whom had faults, that made them so engaging and real! It's been and exciting fulfilling ride!

Great read!

This series of books was great. Love a strong and witty female lead. Great story for most. Some cuss words, but not as bad as most.
