2.5⭐️

A total moment of nostalgia! For a few pages, I fell back into my youth. Clearly, I'm no longer the target audience for this kind of novel. However, some part of me still likes to put myself in the shoes of the young Sandra.

Mary Kate and ashley have been very famous since they were little. I recommend there books to anyone who like a cute little teenager life story. It involves their sweet 16 birthday party plans and also boy trouble. Jake comes in between Mary Kate and Ashley but at the end they over come their problem. And the end it persuades you to read the other books to see what is going too happen next! Very entertaining story.

I was a huge fan of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen and was on an endeavour to collect all their movies and books.

The SWEET 16 series provided (fictional) stories of the twins teenage lifestyle. I actually preferred this series better than the TWO OF A KIND series or even the later, SO LITTLE TIME series.

Bought this to feed my inner youth. 🫶🏼

It was refreshing to read this book about high school life and dating at a time when cellphones and social media didn’t exist yet.

Sort of a bias review considering I’m in my early 30’s. I would have given this book 5 stars if I were still in my High School years though.

I found this at the thrift store and immediately had to buy it for fun. I loved Mary-Kate and Ashley growing up and it was super nostalgic! I somehow managed to find the first book in this series and now I have to find the rest since this ends on a cliffhanger! lol

good start to this series, things always go wrong when you first get a boyfriend. the girls really needed to talk to each other how they were feeling. but will they be able to change their mind in time, with the invites that have been sent out.

Now listen.

Was this story vapid? Yes.
Did the story set back female empowerment by a few decades? Maybe.
Did they reference Starbucks three times? They sure did.

And yet... I'm hooked.

By all means, this should be a boring book, but the constant twists and drama keep it exciting and leave me wanting more!

Frustratingly, the story ends on a cliffhanger, and there are 18 total volumes. But that doesn't mean I'm not going to try and read them!

Favourite passage:
'Brittany waved to us. "Mary-Kate and Ashley - at Starbucks? What a shocker!"
"Hey, I'm not the one with the frequent-customer card" I shot back.'

EDIT:

I've raised the rating to 4 stars - because it actually left a solid impression on me, and I am desperate to read the other volumes

This was definitely cute, but ended with absolutely no resolution on the party. Too bad my library doesn't have anymore of these, because I kind of want to know what happens next. Sad but true.
