Someone has risen from the dead and is haunting the sinister ruins of the Palamu Fort, situated in the mystical land of Jharkhand.
A few hundred kilometers from the fort, in the capital city Ranchi, a History Professor of St. Xavier’s college is murdered at his home. The witnesses claim he was killed by a ghost!

Inspector Patrick Minj ropes in Detective Robin Horo, who unearths a clue which indicates that the murder has a bloody trail running as far as 350 years in the history of Jharkhand. A poisonous conspiracy was plotted centuries ago in the Kingdom of Palamu that designed the downfall of an empire and forced the king to hide his legacy in the unforgiving and indifferent womb of time.
The ghost is leaving behind a trail of dead bodies and to solve the case Robin has nothing but an Artifact that is said to have an ancient curse over it and a centuries old riddle that if solved, could lead to an Elixir.
Witness the conspiracy unfolding that spans 350 years in the making and takes Robin and his companions on a labyrinthine adventure involving deadly secrets, dangerous threats and a lethal encounter with a beast in the jungles of Palamu.
I was attracted to the book, ever since I saw its cover almost 4 months back. At that time book was yet to publish, but the cover was damn good and I just wanted to read it. I would like to thank Author Razi for providing me the review copy in exchange for an honest review. I have read stories based on many states of India, the secret of fort Palamu is my first read on Jharkhand state. So I was excited to read it.
As the title suggests the story is linked with historical references, it even contains a certain portion of historic events. The protagonist of our story is Robin Horo, a private detective, acknowledged by the state's chief minister. Robin is well-known in media. The story started with the murder case, where police came to Robin for consultation. As per police and alibis murder was done by a Ghost. And they cannot work on an entity which didn't exist. Robin readily agreed. His involvement didn't stop further crimes, one more murder happened along with a few more attacks. How will Robin solve the case when everyone except him wanted to avoid further investigation.
On the other side, 350 years back, Raja Medini Ray recruited a boy name Satyabhama in his royal guards. Later on, he gave Satyabhama a task. In current time, the ghost attacking people has same name Satyabhama. Do read the book to know what is the mystery behind the Ghost of Satyabhama.
As mentioned earlier, this is my first read on Jharkhand, so the only strange thing I found was the names of characters. (though they are Indian, I found many of them unheard of) Else the book is as smooth as butter. I have finished it in 3 days (total reading hours less than 6 for 250 pages). Language usage is simple, you won't face vocabulary issues. The plot & suspense is well maintained. You will keep turning pages till the end. Even the climax is wonderfully portrayed.
Along with the story, the author has done a wonderful job of bringing the face of Jharkhand to its readers. Believe it or not, the state is full of natural beauty but ignored by the majority of people. If a movie or series can be planned on this book, it can promote tourism for Jharkhand.
The Secret of The Palamu Fort is a mystery novel of a kind, along the lines of Ray's works. Let's look into the novel that took me back to Feluda, and other icons of sleuths in its pages.
Cover: The cover design is absolutely exquisite. The front cover portrays the valiant warrior 'Satyabhama' whose story is literally the backbone of this novel. The glossy texture of 'Satyabhama' over the graphic background of a battlefield, gives the notion of a mythological element associated with the novel. However, to the surprise of readers, as one goes on they get to know its actually a thriller based with some references, from historical background. The title of the book is printed in glossy white hue at the top edge of the front cover and the name of the author at the bottom edge. The back cover of the book consists of the blurb along with a silhouette of 'Detective Horo', who is the protagonist of the novel.
Title: The title is apt to the content of the book and goes in sync with the plot of the novel. "The Secret of the Palamu Fort", centres around the tale of the hidden 'Elixr of Doisa' and its protector, Satyabhama. It takes us back to the land of Jharkhand, 1650 AD during the reign of the Chero King, Raja Medini Rai and his kingdom. Prosperity was at its peak during his reign, as he was a very kind and generous king. It is under his privilege that Satyabhama became the chief of the military forces during his time, who led him to win several conquests and acquire the 'Elixr of Doisa'. Satyabhama protected the elixr till his last breathe as he promised Raja Medini Rai, from the conspirators within Raja's own court. However, he received a horrible death in return. Since then this folklore began that the 'Elixr of Doisa' was cursed and the ghost of Satyabhama protected it. With this historical plot as the background, a murder takes place in the present timeline, which was stated to be done by the ghost of Satyabhama, as mentioned by the eye-witnesses of the murder. Thus, the thriller began to unwind where Detective Robin Horo investigates about the murder and eventually finds out the conspiracies made in the past and in the present times to unravel "The Secret of the Palamu Fort".
My Verdict: "The Secret of the Palamu Fort" brings forth two plots, in two different timelines, intertwined yet fits so perfectly well to complement each other. Besides the historical intricacies, the character development of Detective Horo and his companions namely Neil Horo and Babulalji have been made with great care which resonates to a great extent with the famous detective stories of "Feluda" by Satyajit Ray. One finds an essence of reincarnation of the character, "Feluda" in "Detective Horo" which makes it all the way more appealing to its readers. I am flattered especially because how well the author has conveyed his story following a similar style of writing as the great Satyajit Ray, yet with a mark of originality in it. Kudos to Razi! The language of the book is lucid and thus accessible to a wide range of readers. The book has every element to make it a complete package. It includes a historic reference, mysterious ghost killer, folklore, deductions by Detective Horo to solve the case, comic relief, adventure, conspiracies, riddle and its solution through mind-boggling interpretations. At the culmination, the reader gets all the missing pieces and answers to the definite questions that arise in the course of reading the book. It is a sure shot page-turner and one who loves thrillers will definitely love it. Simplicity defines beauty. And that's what I felt after completing this book. I loved it!
I loved this book at a first glance by seeing the cover. When I picked this up, I thought it will be of mythology genre, but to my surprise, it turned out completely different. I can say that it’s combination of fiction, suspense and mythological work. I will shortly summaries blurb. The protagonist of thestory is Robin Horo. He is the detective and at the beginning of the story a murder took place and The ghost is leaving trail of dead bodies. It’s a nail biting suspense. If we talk about the book, story runs in two frames, present and 1663. It revolves around the Palamu fort. It takes time to enter in the story but it moves at a faster pace and I liked that. It’s written in simple and easily understandable language so that everyone can enjoy it. Nice page turner suspense that is unpredictable till the end. There are lots of twists and turns plotted with supernatural touch. Overall amazing work. Worth reading!
A ghost is on killing spree leaving behind bloody trails. A few hundred kilometres from the Palamu Fort, Jharkhand, a Professor is murdered. The eye witnesses claim it was a ghost. As Detective Robin Horo unearths 350 year-old history to solve this mysterious murders with nothing but an ancient riddle in his hand, his and his friends' life is at stake. Is it a ghost or is there some bigger conspiracy threatening to resurface?
Who doesn't love to read a good detective fiction and when it's combined with 350 year-old history and mysterious murders peppered with detective intellect and little adventures, it sounds like a tasty book to devour for a voracious reader like me.
The Secret of The Palamu Fort is a mixture of mystery, detective fiction & history. The book is set on picturesque of Jharkhand starring a Detective named Robin Horo who solves the mysterious murders related to some ancient history.
This book gives me a major 'Feluda' kinda vibe and I like it. Here the characters are almost similar like in Feluda by Satyajit Ray. We get to see Robin in Feluda's place, Neil (Robin's cousin brother) in Topse's place and our favourite Lalmohan babu aka Jatayu is replaced by Babulalji aka Tornado, he also writes books. I loved to read this troop in this new form.
Talking about the writing style, I loved it as well. It's filled with anticipation and due to it's fast paced nature yet slow burn story I was completely engrossed into it. The pace is maintained throughout the book though the ending was predictable. I enjoyed this book a lot.
The Secret of the Palamu Fort by Razi Ahmed is a murder mystery and is taking place in Jharkhand. A professor is killed at his own house and the witnesses claim to have seen a ghost committing the murder. The police takes the famous detective Robin Horo on board to solve this baffling case. In his investigations, Robin Horo discovers that possible answers to the mystery lie in the history that goes back as far as 350 years during the reign of Raja Medini Ray of Chero dynasty. This was the first time reading a story based in Jharkhand. I liked how the story has tried to acknowledge the importance of the national heritage that is unfortunately often neglected. The story has a suspense factor which holds the interest of the reader. More so, because the question of 'how can a ghost commit a murder' makes the reader curious. Also, the historical angle in the story, adds to the mystery. Sometimes, the story got a bit predictable but the overall suspense at the end was still startling. The language is very simple. This is a story that can be read in a single sitting.
The Secret of the Palamu Fort by Razi is a detective thriller set in Jharkhand, India. The story unfolds with a chilling murder: a history professor is found dead in Ranchi, and witnesses claim a ghost was responsible. Inspector Patrick Minj is called in to investigate, but the case takes a strange turn when Detective Robin Horo discovers a link between the murder and a 350-year-old conspiracy.
The historical mystery intertwined with the present-day murders piqued my interest. The combination of murder mystery, historical intrigue, and a touch of the supernatural kept me hooked throughout. The easy-to-read writing style keeps you turning pages to find out what happens next. The author's clear and detailed prose showcases their thorough research about the Chero dynasty and love for Jharkhand. Detective Robin Horo, the protagonist, quickly became a favorite. While I was initially confused by the shifting timelines, I grasped them quickly and found them engaging.
Overall, The Secret of the Palamu Fort seems like a fun and engaging detective story, especially if you enjoy a dash of the supernatural and a new cultural setting. If you are looking for a light thrilling read this book is for you.
This book attempts to bring together two stories- one of a poor boy turned brave knight 'Satyabhama' and another of a brilliant detective 'Robin Horo'. As the two stories tangle, the reader is drawn into a pool of mysteries related to some old treasure.
My HONEST Review:
It didn't take me long to read this book. It was small and concise. And to be honest, a little too concise. I felt that the book lacked description. It could have been written in a better way, focusing on minute details. And also having a wider perspective.
While reading the book it felt like it was full of cliches. It felt like I had come across the same thing somewhere else. There were no significant changes in the details either. This story could be entertaining to a child or an old person. But for the younger generation who is looking for a nice mystery, this isn't it.
Character development was not apt. I felt that all characters were superficial. They were written like some not-so-important character of a book or a movie. There was little truth to the character and their actions. And that just wasn't enough to hook me.
THAT WAS ALL ABOUT WHAT I HATED IN THIS BOOK. NOW THE GOOD PARTS
The only readable part of the last few pages where DETECTIVE HORO unveils all the secrets. It clearly depicts how keen a detective he is.
The little details that make up the city Ranchi are very much evident throughout the story. The author has taken real pain in describing each and every detail of this place. (I have been living in Ranchi for the past 3 years and when I came to know that the author is from Ranchi, I was really excited about the book. But honestly, it didn't live up to my expectations. I wanted to read a good mystery but this wasn't good enough for me.)
Detective fiction is one of my favorite genres. Like most of the Bongs out there I've grown up reading our very own #feluda and #byomkesh . Later I've found my love for the genre renewed in such characters as Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot, Miss Marple, Kirity Roy, Mitin Masi etc.
The Secret of the Palamu Fort is a detective fiction set in Jharkhand. A professor is killed and the suspect is a ghost who is resurrected after 350 years. When famous detective Robin Horo is brought into the scene to solve the mystery, another professor is killed by the same ghost complicating the matter further.
The author Razi very effectively weaves two stories from two different eras; one from present day and the other from 350 years ago to present the premise of the mystery. At the end of the book he connects these two stories together with mastery and solves the mystery at hand... And yes detective Robin also solves the mystery of the 350 years old ghost and his curse.
While the story is interesting and very fast-paced, the book has failed to impress me. The author's desperate attempt to imitate legendary Satyajit Ray is prominent and appears to be dilettantish.
The language seemed very ordinary and amateur to me. Except the protagonist no other character is given the space to flourish. Inspector Patrick, Babulalji and Neil's only role in the book is to prove the intelligence of Robin.
Having said that, this book can be recommended to those who are new to reading and those who loves story driven light read. It can also help you coming out of your reading slump.
The story begins with a mysterious murder of the professor in the city of Ranchi, capital of Jharkhand. The witnesses claim he was killed by a ghost! The police wasn't able to crack the case and were constantly pressurized by the media and people of Ranchi. As the case goes no where and remains clueless, local police appoints a detective who is obviously genius and around whom the story revolves. Meanwhile there happens another mysterious murder with the same style. And after that the search begins and the adventure finds various new discoveries . Was there really a ghost killing people. Will they be able to solve this mystery?
Review : The title of the book is intriguing and the book is equally interesting. It's an Indian modern detective fiction having a murder mystery based around Palamu heritage site (thanks to google I was able to visualize the actual existing place) in the state of Jharkhand, India. The story is full of twists and turns. At latter chapters of the book the story is being dragged but it too couldn't resist you to finish it in a single sitting. Each page brings curiosity to the reader. It is narrated beautifully in two different time lines. The plot will appeal the reader to hooked on to it. It was a great read for it's simple writing.
Just look at this fabulous cover and read the blurb! I can say you would also be intrigued to read the story just like me.
The story starts with a murder. And then another one! And guess what, it seems they are done by a ghost of a brave warrior of history who has woken up to protect the great treasure. Yes, and this treasure is guarded somewhere in Palamu Fort. This treasure is so precious that the king had to move it to a safe place to keep away from the traitors. And this place is mentioned as a riddle.
Then comes our great genius, Robin Horo. He is amazingly intelligent. His observation skills are far better than normal people. And he reads a lot and that's why he is knows many things of science. In his first scene, he is discussing black hole concept. His intellectual skills are very helpful to police department to solve murders and that's why he's known as Detective Horo.
The story is totally page turner. Robin's character is truly amazing. Also, Babulalji is hilarious sometimes. I liked narration about the king of Palamu Fort and his kingdom three hundred fifty years back. The story of Satyabhama was so brave.
Overall, this was a roller coaster ride. I finished it in just one day. The suspense kept me on edge. The riddle solving episode was truly genius of Robin. The characters are well developed. The language is lucid. The narration is fast paced. Short chapters keep the reader hooked. In short, it's totally recommended to thriller and suspense readers.
History always leaves marks on the face of earth. Some are ugly, some astonishingly beautiful, and that have been lost into oblivion.
My first book on the history of Jharkhand, the Hidden Treasure.
A young detective of Ranchi Robin Horo, tries to help police is a murder case of a history professor Dr. Anand Tigga. The murder case takes a mysterious turn when the 3 prime witnesses name the murderer to be Satyabhama. Satyabhama is a brave warrior of the Chero Dynasty under the rule of Raja Medini Ray. The next day one of the witness professor Enos Baa is killed in similar situations. And after two days another professor to targeted but his life is saved by the police. After all this Robin with his friends takes a trip to the Palamu Fort where all this mystery has started.
After reaching the fort Robin and his friends start investigating the story of Satyabhama, the conspiracy of the Chero royal court, life and death of Raja Medini Ray, curse of Satyabhama and at last the Elixir of Doisa. What happens and what concludes becomes the book.
A simple story from a hidden place which speaks about courage, trust, paranormal presence, friendship, science and human greed. A beautiful writeup without any loose ends.
The book starts with the description of Palamu which is in Jharkhand State. The beautiful description of the Forest there reminds me of Aranyak by Bibhutibhusan Bandopadhyay.
In the forest, there is a ruin of fort , called Palamu fort and a ghost haunts there. There's a secret reason for that. But miles away from this fort and a professor was murdered. The rumors in the air was that a ghost is behind this. In this murder plot Inspector Patrick and detective Robin turn up to solve the mysteries from the leftover parts of the fort.
In order to make the story gripping, the author has narrated both the events from past and present simultaneously. After each and every event the plot takes new turn.
The book is fast paced and you can finish it in one sitting . The writing of the author has added the cherry on the cake.
What should i say about this book, I have never been this happy to be proved wrong by a book. So from the cover, what I expected was a story about a warrior and will have some historical stuff in it, but boy was I wrong.
This book belonged to my favourite genre, that is mystery. The story is set with the Hero, Horro to be assigned a case of a historians murder by a ghost, where he stumbles upon a journey which is connected to past, will be be able to solve it is the story.
In a few lines I can say, the book captivated me from the first page to the last without losing a point of focus or connection in the book. The writing and the flow of the book, is just marvelous. You also start guessing who is the villan of the story with detective.
Overall if you love a crime thriller with a dash historical fiction, you will enjoy reading the book.
I loved reading this book. The plot of the story is super interesting with some amazing tips. I loved how the author built the plot. The narration of the story is simply amazing keeping the reader hooked throughout. It’s a historical fiction that you’ll fall in love with. The story is fast-paced with a smooth flow. The characters that the author developed are wonderful creating a strong impact on the reader. History, Mystery, thriller are some themes used by the author to make the story more interesting. It’s a quick read.
Mythology and Thriller are one of my favorite combinations to read. The title of the book is intriguing and the book is equally interesting. I loved reading it
The story is about a conspiracy which involved Ghost. Shocking right? The city of Ranchi was haunted by the ghost of Satyabhama, who was the right hand of the King of Palamu in the history. The ghost had killed 2 science professors till now and was on a loose to kill more people in order to protect the treasure of the king. The police wasn't able to hack the case and were constantly pressurized by the media and people of Ranchi. They roped in Robin who was the famous detective, in order to solve the case.
Robin was a genius and was always able to crack the hardest of cases but this case had no end. Eventually he started believing in the ghost stories but there was something more to it. Will Robin be able to crack the case? Will the ghost stop killing people?
I was intrigued by the turn of events after every chapter. The story is full of emotions, action, drama and science. I was really fascinated from the very first page of the book. The author's writing style is simple and will keep you hooked throughout. The character building is strong and the way the author describes the various scenes is commendable, I actually imagined all of it. The book is well paced and an enjoyable read.
"There are many unexplained phenomena in God's world. Perhaps, some are best left undisturbed."
Robin Horro is a detective, he became famous as he recently helped police in a case and now the inspector came again asking for his help regarding a case which involved ghosts.👻 It was a full moon night, there was always silence around the Palamu Fort but this night was different. There were sounds of people running towards it. Bhola and Heeralal made a theft in a nearby village and they were running in the jungle to protect themselves from the villagers. 👥👥 That's when Bhola realised that they reached the fort and he was unsure if they should enter it because of the ghosty and horror tales they've heard about it but they had no choice, in order to protect themselves from the villagers, they entered 🚪 They started to feel it as soon as they entered and weird things started happening with them. Were the horror tales true about the fort? Read to find out!!!!
Initially, I was getting a little confused as to where the story is going but was able to make sense later when I realised the book is set in two different timelines and the author had tried to merge those, which was fine. The forts discussed in the story still exist😳and no, I wouldn't wanna visit. The book has a total of 44 short chapters 📜 This was a gripping and intresting read to be a debut novel.
A sleuth story gets a unique treatment in The Secrets of the Palamu Fort. Razi creates his super-efficient detective mastermind, Detective Robin Horo. Robin, Neil, and Babulalji are one team. The narrative takes off as a typical detective story in which a difficult case was handed over by the police to Detective Horo. The case was about a ghost killing people in random. Horo discovers that the ghost does have a motive. The story takes a twist when Horo discovers a historical connection with the haunting of the ghost. The narrative strategy employed by the author is simple and direct. The history of Palamu fort appears intertwined with the concurrent events narrated in line with the events that happen in the life of the renowned detective Horo. The Secrets of the Palamu Fort reads like classic detective fiction. It can be compared with a Sherlock Holmes novel with fewer intricacies. Also, this book evokes the style of Agatha Christie, the English writer and the creator of the character Hercule Poirot. Palamu fort is a real historical site in Jharkhand, India. The history of the place is revealed cryptically through the story. Also, a certain legend is narrated which forms the core of the modern-day adventure by detective Robin Horo. If someone asks about literary significance of The Secrets of the Palamu Fort the answer is that the novel unveils a rather new atmosphere into the sensibility of the pan Indian reader: Jharkhand. Raja Medini Ray and his kingdom, the myth of Elixir of Doisa, the Palamu Fort, and the legend of Satyabhama appears to tease the taste buds of our sensibilities and taunt us to grasp more of the rich historical background of the state of Jharkhand. This is especially true for someone like me, a person from down the south of the country. I haven't encountered many works of fiction based on the historical and geographical area of Jharkhand. Satisfying as it is as detective fiction, The Secrets of the Palamu Fort emboldens the reader's curiosity to find more about the historical locations mentioned in the book.
"Respect can never be brought or forcibly asked for. It has to be earned." . This thriller story holds 2 sides of a coin. storytelling has been introduced in a very Goodway. From the very beginning ,there were very intriguing and conscious things has been infused. This story holds adventurous ride, big conspiracy deadly secrets, dangerous threat, lethal encounter with a beast in the jungle of Palamu, meaningful comedy and humorous sense.
. The sharp features of Detective Horo was unmatched and wonderful. The supporting cast characters is excellent and humorous starring from Neil,Babulalji, Inspector Patrick and the last musketeer whose feature was like filmy style. The other remaining cast were well intact with crime scenes. Narration of the story is filled with curiosity and intriguing elements. The fact of "ELIXIR DOSAI" left me in maze. The case is extremely tangled puzzle that he got to untangled it, one knot at atime Every step is very dreadful and apprehensive. when Det Horo un-earth the mystery of artefact and old riddle which is attached to Prof. murder plus Palamu fort history just blew my mind.
. Collaboration of history connected to present incident of murder mystery was excellent . The merciful nature of Raja Medini Ray toward Satyabhama shaped him in great warrior which he pledged his sword and his life to the greatest of the Chero dynasty and become protector of "ELIXIR DOSAI." To know the ghost name, more about Palamu fort secrecy and how Det Horo unearth the crime&mystery with his sharp features you got to pick this book.
The narration of the story will keep u hook up. Language is easy and lucid. I love the cover design of this book. Subject and theme goes hand in hand. The issues & occurrences will leave you in maze for sure. I really enjoyed Author Razi work. I'm looking forward for his next book to read.

Recommended to everybody, do read this book, a must read Indian thriller.
"The Secret of the Palamu Fort" by author Razi is a book written on thriller twist. Raja Medini Ray, one of the prominent King of Chore dynasty was ruling the Palamu state around 1663 AD. One night on a way to ensure the well-being of his kingdom' people, he incidentally met a 16-year old orphan boy, Satyabhama. Impressed by his kindnesses and honesty, King entrusted him a post in his royal fighters. Within no time, Satyabhama has won the King's heart with his loyalty and bravado and been posted as the head of the overall army force.
After three hundred and fifty years, a history professor of St. Xavier's college was being murdered in Jharkhand. Three witnesses claimed the involvement of ghosts in this mysterious case. Robin Horo, one of the sought after detective unveils the indulgence of Palamu Fort, but to no avail. The ghost was killing one after other with cruelty and Robin was left with no clue. Even the hint of haunted Palamu Fort would fail to bring out the truth behind the scene.
The author has plotted the story in the most wonderful way possible. With every flipping page, the thriller was increasing with a good pace. l really like the way science has been used to mould the story. The character of Robin was admiring, his analytical thinking and sheer observation was far too good. The story has ended in a good note, but the revelation of the mystery was less elaborated. The thriller seems to fade a little at the end. However the plot was interesting to read. Happy reading.
"They embarked on their journey - a journey that was either going to clear the dust of time from many a lost secret or was going to expose them to some deadly ancient truths...." . . 🏹 Some novels just have the power to keep u hooked until the last page and still leave u in wanting for more, and this book is one of them.... . 🏹 Talking about this novel, the first thing was its attractive cover. A beautiful cover which will make u want to read the story from the time u buy it, not letting u put it down for even a single minute. (This happened with me though) . 🏹 Coming to the plot line. The story is so intriguing and engrossing that once u start reading it u wont put it down. The murder mystery and its link to the history of Palamu fort. The twist and turns in every chapter leaves u gasping. The unbelievable ending u get in every chapter makes one self wanting for more of story... . 🏹 And lastly talking about climax. Gosh! A climax which no one could have ever thought of. An interesting one for sure. And yaa the main protagonist, the hero of this whole story, 'Detective Robin Horo' is no less than Sherlock Holmes. His thinking and his instinct will make u one of his fans. . 🏹 This is Author Razi's debut novel and after reading it, I am sure that no debut author can write a novel as interesting, as engrossing, as page turner like him. This story made me fall in love with Detective Robin and so i feel that more of his Detective stories should make way ( can u please do it @authorrazi 🙏)
So in the very start, I would like to make one thing clear that am a person who just takes a day or so to read a novel, but with this one, it just took me seven hours to complete reading it.
“The Secret Of The Palamu Fort” is the debut novel of Author Razi (@authorrazi) and is basically a mythological thriller. This genre is itself very appealing and interesting and @authorrazi has definitely made justice to this genre in his story.
The title of book is also really appealing and is definitely giving a feel of mytho. The plot has a great capability to keep anyone hooked to it, the narration of events is so impactful that it makes you imagine those scenes clearly.
So the story as stated by the name revolves around the Palamu Fort, it is a murder mystery of 2 proffesors by a ghost named “Satyabhama” who even tries to kill the third professor. Satyabhama was the right hand of the king of Palamu who was given the responsibility of protecting the treasure and is fulfilling it even after his death. Because of a chain of events the murder case of the professor is given to Detective Robin Horo, who is the protagonist of this story and is a person with an extremely sharp mind. The upcoming turns reveal about the curse, They question that can a ghost be a killer or will Robin be able to solve the mystery? The plot goes in two time zones, the present time and the time of Satyabhama.
The language of book is really simple and this is one of binge read kinds, story is so gripping and impactful that it makes you crave for reading it more. I would definitely recommend everyone to read it once at least. If you prefer mythology then It's a great pick but even if you don't then it will intrigue your interest in this genre.
Book Name — The Secret of Palamu Fort Author — Razi (@authorrazi) Ratings — 4.2/5 Review By — Priyanka Kathuria (@whatheartwrites0)
This is a fictional story with the influences inspired from the history that comes from myths and legends of the land. The story has numerous characters as it is written as a detective and mysterious fiction. It is based on the city named Rachi in India. The city has been disturbed by a series of events which are quite unpleasant. People are being murdered and the people believe that the murderer is a ghost. Yes this book has haunted vibes too. One professor has been found dead and again people blames the ghost. The police are investigating the case. But our lead, the detective named Robin comes in the picture. He tries to solve this issue but is it that easy to solve a case like this? A case where ghost is believed to be involved too. Well the plot has been layered well with mysteries and suspense. As the detective works on this case, different things come to the picture. Well I will keep my review spoiler free and ask you to pick up the book. The narration is kept simple and easy making it a comfortable read. The language used is lucid. There are numerous characters yet the focus is given to these two characters. Each character development is well penned down by the author. The plot has been layered beautifully and it's a well paced plot. It was quite interesting to read.
"Someone has risen from the dead. An ancient curse has resurfaced and is asking for its share of blood"
This two lines were enough to make me fall in love with this book!
In one word it's a perfect combination of thriller and mythology. Fort of king Palamu which is situated in Ranchi is known as Palamu Fort. The story is based on Satyabhama who was a right hand of king Palamu was a dedicated Protector of treasures. He died but all believe he exist as a ghost till to do the same. Even The Ghost of Satyabhama killed two science professors. Police , forces all were failed to find out the truth behind it and the City in turmoil. Robin is a renowned detective who started to investigate this case.
Did he believe in ghost? what is the next ? will he fail? The Ghost of Satyabhama will stop killing people? Or will it increase more?

The story starts in the city of Ranchi, capital of Jharkhand. A professor was found murdered in his own house. It was not just any other murder, it was a murder committed by a ghost, as per the eye witnesses. The police were not able to find a clue and felt they were just going in circle and hence, they appointed the best detective in town, Robin to resolve the case. Meanwhile, there was another murder in the city, in the same manner. Everyone started saying that the murder was committed by ghost of Satyabhama.
