Only Jax is on her side; yet he came with just one man to help. Stunned, she stays close as Jax frees the ship and keeps her safe—until they find out the real reason for this nightmare, when she’s forced to England to face the two-legged monster of her nightmares ...

When Abigail goes on a cruise for her first vacation in years, things did not go as planned. When pirates took over the cruise ship, Jax
is called to find Abigail and get her safely off the ship. It is Jax and his teammate Beau against the 15 pirates. Jax finds Abigail and is ready to get her off the ship when the pirates start killing the other passengers and Abigail knows she needs to come forward. At this point the reader thinks they know what will happen next, but there are a few twists and turns that will surprise you. I loved this book and you will too.

This is the third book in the Maverick series and although they are all standalone stories the familiar characters are building.
Jax Darrium had been tasked to assist Griffin Thomas in the successful rescue of a small child and her tutor, Jax wanted one shot at leading a mission before he left everything military behind, his chance came sooner than he expected. He was commissioned to rescue a Dr Abigail Dalton from a cruise ship off the Florida coast , pirates had taken over the ship with the instructions to capture Abby, who specialised in cell stem treatment of cancer, and take her to Dubai.
Jax met up with his back up, Beau, a giant of a man who Jax knew from his navy Seal days, Griffin was to be in communications for information and anything they may need. Using scuba diving gear they swam to the ship and boarded. They quickly set about taking out the pirates thus reducing the odds.
As the story unfolds Abby is required to treat the son of a wealthy Saudi Arabian, the father had been informed by his American doctor that the boy had stomach cancer, the problem being that this same doctor had, years before, stalked, terrorised and beaten Abby unconscious before skipping the country.......could this be a ploy to get Abby back in his clutches ? did the child have cancer (his medical noted didn't uphold this theory ) ?was it Munchhausen syndrome and if so who is causing his illness ? or could it be something more sinister, there were many suspects. Amanda refuses to go to Dubai but agrees to look at the boy if he is flown to England but this means that Dr Benjamin Winberg would be accompanying him, Amanda was terrorised by this thought but put all her trust in Jax and Beau and their MI6 backup.
This may be the third book in this series but this riveting story has lost none of its impetus, as with most Dale Mayer books it contains terror, murder, suspense, kidnapping, random shootings, a sociopathic doctor on the loose and of course romance. I loved this book and I can highly recommend it.

Ex-SEAL Jax Darrium had helped Griffin in the second book in this series and now he gets his own mission with Griffin on communications and another ex-SEAL called Beau. This time he needs to travel to Florida and rescue Dr Abigail Dalton from a cruise ship which has been taken over by pirates with the intention to capture her as she is a specialist in cell stem treatment of cancer and take her to Dubai to treat the son of a wealthy Saudi Arabian who is believed to have stomach cancer (according to his American doctor). Using scuba gear they swim to the ship and board so they can start taking out any of the pirates they fin as well as search for Abby. When they find her it turns out that the American doctor is a stalker of Abby and there is doubt n her mind over the diagnosis and believes it is his way to capturing her. When Abby discovers the need to cure a child she insists of treating him and so a neutral location of London is chosen with the hopes that Jax, Beau and MI6 can all work together to keep her safe. Can she cure the child and be kept safe or will she fall into the hands of her stalker?

This was a great story pitting the wits of the medical profession, a sassy and determined woman and a determined black-ops team against a skilled psychopathic conman. I loved the butting of heads that was constantly in place between Abby and Jax as well as his determination to compromise whilst keeping her safe. A very convoluted story with lots of drama as it unfolded. A great and addictive read that I couldn't put down. Contains some sexual content at the end of the story.

Jax was almost home when he got a call from his friend about another 'Mavericks" mission and this time he would lead. He was still tired from the last job which was his first encounter with this group until he heard pirates had taken over a cruise ship. He quickly asked who was going to help and was told it would be Beau (a big man who was a good sharpshooter) and military to follow. They wanted the ship to be boarded quietly at first.
Upon boarding Jax found the pirates were looking for a female doctor to take to Dubai to help a young patient who was not responding to treatment.
Abigail or Abby, as she was called, didn't know at first the pirates were looking for her but when she found out she was surprised as her expertise was in stem cells so it didn't make sense. When she discovered the pirates would harm people if she stayed hidden or escaped, she refused rescue and came forward.
The adventure on the ship was a story of it's own but only the beginning in this case. It went on as Jax and Abby tried to help the sick child, discover why he was not responding to treatment and at the same time trying to solve the puzzle as to who was behind this treachery of lies and deceit. It was convoluted at best and maybe even including Abby's past.
Definitely a page turner with very interesting characters that kept me guessing.
The epilogue reveals a bit more about Beau and a trip to Alaska that sounds very exciting! Once more, very well done Dale Mayer!

Like his brother SEALs, life has not allowed for Jax to have much in the way of romance or companionship and this work with The Mavericks was not much different. Except both Kerrick and Griffin had found their special someone during the first two missions. Still, Jax figured one more operation to go with him in the lead and that may be the end of black ops for him. Then, time to find a place, a friend or two, and to relax.

Like the others, Beau was contacted to back up Jax on this, his first Mavericks mission. It will be a training op for Beau and possibly give him the opportunity to later lead one of his own if he stays with the organization.

Dr Abigail Dalton, creator of a a new surgical procedure, is taking time out for a cruise. Another doctor tried to imitate her procedure, but failed, leaving a patient in serious trouble. The patient's family will do anything to get Abigail in their custody to save the life of their ailing loved one. Including sending in pirates to take over the cruise ship and capture the lady doctor.

Jax and Beau are to sneak aboard the ship, find Abigail and safely secure her before a larger team can come aboard. Or that is the plan.

This is Book 3 of The Mavericks series and it is another page turner full of twists, turns and surprises.

Mavericks Book 3, Jax

Now that you’ve devoured Books 1 and 2 of The Mavericks series, you are familiar with their standard operating procedure and my tendency not to give away the plot. This is Jax’s mission to lead, and it’s a very challenging rescue with Beau as his second. Pirates have boarded a cruise ship off the coast of Panama and are searching the entire vessel for one specific passenger. Travel by a combination of civilian and military planes, then SEAL delivery vehicles, finally get Jax and Beau close enough to execute their plan to slip onto the ship and stay hidden as they take out the pirates one by one. The fact that Beau is a rather large man, even by SEAL standards, keeping to that part of the process may take some doing. I absolutely love how creative and persistent these two-man teams have to be to get these jobs done. Oh, and don’t think that Jax’s is the last story. Once you’re finished with these three books, I am sure that you too will anxiously await the release of Beau’s story in Book 4 in much the same way that most people anticipate sweets on Valentine’s Day, Easter, Halloween, and Christmas.

The third book in the new series The Mavericks hits the ground running from page one and does not stop till the last page is turned. Even at that point you still want more of the characters. The main characters interaction keeps you engrossed in the story line and they have you rooting for them from the start. The way the stories in this series keep you turning the pages continues with the story of Jax. The black-ops team member assigned to be in charge of the current op are pretty much on their own except for a little help from their "friends". Their friends are other black-ops members who are also part of this newly formed group. Usually only one other member is there in person, the other assistance is through computer intelligence that is fed to those in charge of the current op. This way of doing things seems to work as the last two ops have been successful and Jax is hoping his op will have a positive outcome too. These books are so addicting and I cannot wait to read the next in the series as I loved this book as much as i did the last two in the series! If you love action, suspense and some romance, you will love this book!

Once again, another hit in The Maverick’s series has Jax completing his mission and finding the one he can’t be without. This time it’s Abigail (Abby) who’s a Doctor that has found a new treatment that has helped when other treatments haven’t. She’s on a cruise when pirates take over but they are only looking for one person, her, and Jax is tasked to rescue her and during the rescue the body count climbs. When Abby finds out the reason she is targeted, she still wants to help the sick little boy but it could lead to her facing her worst nightmare, a stalker from her past.
A great read with some steam, plenty of action and suspense with a big body count as Jax takes on the pirates with the help from a friend who knows the stakes. I enjoyed the banter between these two and how Abby sticks up for herself and doesn’t mind doing what is necessary to survive and save the life of a young boy. I also enjoyed the no drama between them, no running away from their feelings and attraction, as well as sticking together to defeat the threat.

Jax had just finished the mission with Griffin and landed in California when he got the call. It was Griffin on the other end, with Jax's mission. Pirates have taken over a cruise ship and Jax with the help of Beau were to go in ahead of the military. The Pirates want someone specific, one Abigail Eleanor. She's a doctor a supposed colleague needs to fix something he can't.

Now Abby has been working her way through duct work to get closer to topside. Her fear that the pirates would sink the ship motivating her. Instead of getting there she runs into Jax.

Between Beau, himself and even Abby, they take back the ship before the other teams arrive. Now they have to figure out who the patient is and how to help without Abby being taken.

I love the snark in this one and Jax realizes rather quickly he's falling for the lovely doctor.

Again there's lots of action, suspense, some sizzle and even some jealousy in this page turning read.

I can't wait for the next book in this series, I pretty much inhaled the first three.

I’ll pass on the cruise!

A very tense and knuckle-biting cruise for Abby. Pirates come on board the cruise Abby takes to unwind and relax, killing passengers. Little does she know that they are there for her! Abby has to hide for her own safety.

The new Mavericks teammates, Jax and Beau, come to her rescue, taking out the pirates one by one, only to find that she is giving herself up. Abby, a doctor, is forced to treat a dying child who is a patient to a fellow doctor who has terrorized Abby for years. She is terrified of coming face to face with this dangerous man but Jax is there to protect her.

This story is action-packed, full of intense situations and maneuvers to keep Abby hidden and safe while waiting to see and examine this sick child. Many people are involved to keep you on your toes guessing who is the culprit of trying to kill the child. The betrayal is epic as well as the resulting conclusion. This is a fantastic story and is keeping this new series as exciting and fresh!

I loved it!

Barely off his previous mission with Griffin, Jax will lead a mission to save famous doctor Abby Dalton with Griffin as his cyber contact for resources. Abby's cruise ship has been overrun with pirates looking for her. Abby stays hidden until Jax discovers her. When she realizes what the pirates are doing and why they are looking for her, Abby puts a twist in Jax's plan to rescue her. When she ends up in England, she will have to deal with a nightmare from her past. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. The books in this series keeping on getting better and they can all be enjoyed as a standalone as well. I liked how Abby's dedication as a doctor and as a strong independent woman had Jax having to adjust his plans to keep her safe. This is another very suspenseful book. There is also a realistic romance that slowly builds in the story. This book has twists that kept me on the edge of my seat at times. I love this book and the series.

Abby is a doctor on her first cruise when pirates overtake the ship searching for her. She has done stem cell research which helps cure cancer in some patients. An old enemy who once abused her is behind the ship being overtaken as he wants her to come to Dubai and help treat the small boy he is treating but all he really wants is to take her captive. Jax is new to the Mavericks and he is sent to sneak on the ship and get her off. His partner is Beau and between the two of them they kill over 20 pirates and rescue Abby. But she agrees to meet in England and try to help the boy so Jax and Beau go with her as protection. The doctor then tries to kidnap Abby again and kill those guarding her. This is the 3rd book of the Maverick series and is my favorite so far. Lots of action and the story moves along at a fast pace.

(4.5) "What kind of person has two first names?" Says Jax to himself. Jax was Griffins back up, in Mavericks 2. Jax is the lead in Mavericks 3 and called out as soon as he was headed for home. He is to rescue Abigail Dalton "Abby" on a cruise ship that was captured by pirates. Abigail Dalton is a Dr whose research with stem cell has taken the world by storm. Jax and his back up, his teammate Beau have to board the ship alone, not knowing how many pirates or what the situation is. Abby had made the first time she appeared on the printed page, I wont tell you where she appears, but hats off to Dale, I didn't expect that. Abby is smart, compassionate, witty, intelligent and looks like an 18yr :) She has no idea what is going on and is surprised to find out the pirates want her. This book had so many layers, that I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. I appreciate the arc. All thoughts and opinions are my own and were unsolicited.

This is the fourth book in Dale Mayer’s new “The Maverick” series, and it is as awesome as the first two.

Abigail “Abby “and Jax, are both incredible characters. Abby is a doctor and a researcher. Jax is a former SEAL who currently works for the Mavericks. They are both very independent and not afraid to speak their minds to anyone. Also, they are both very brave and refuse to let themselves be intimidated by anyone.

This plot is so complex that it is impossible to explain much without giving away any spoilers. Abby’s life is in danger, and Jax has been sent to save her. Then afterwards, he becomes her bodyguard.

This is a thrilling, suspense-filled page-turner. The author takes the reader on a scary, death defying roller coaster ride that doesn’t let up until the last chapter.

I can hardly wait to read the next book in this series!

Jax by Dale Mayer
The Mavericks Series Book Three
Jax Darrum barely landed from his mission with Griffin when the call came in...it was time for his mission where he was lead. So, off he went. Meeting up with Beau, they headed to save a doctor. She was on a cruise that was taken over by pirates.

Dr. Abigail “Abby” Eleanor couldn't imagine someone going through taking over a cruise just to get to her. She wasn't anyone important. Yes, her work was successful, but still... Who wanted her bad enough to take over a cruise...and kill innocent people?

When the pieces start coming together, it's not pretty. An old enemy wants Abby in their sights...and they don't care who gets in the way of their plan. But, she wasn't going to let a child suffer no matter who was behind it. Another romance on the run as Jax and Abby get to know each other in the worst of situations.

Action packed suspense from the start, no resting or getting to comfortable along the way. Full of twists and turns and the unexpected, this kept me on edge but turning the pages completely engaged in what was happening in the plot. I love how the main characters gel quite fast but still.take time before acting on the chemistry. Beau is like a gentle giant with a deadly aim if it's needed, he is next up and can't wait. The culture that is a part of this scares me, I just don't like to think of life meaning so little or women treated like breeding animals, little respect or love being shown or girls meaning so little in the hierarchy of family, yet without the girls growing into women and then mothers there would be no sons at all. This series is exciting and a bit different and I'm loving it.

Jax had just returned to California after his mission with Griffin when he gets the call to head out on a mission of his own. Turns out some pirates have taken over a cruise ship and he tasked with rescuing Dr Abby. But how is to do that when he doesn't even have her picture?

Even though Abby has developed a new surgical procedure for collecting stem cells, she's can't image why pirates have been sent to get her. That is until she learns who the sick boy's doctor is and he's someone who has made her life very miserable when they were in med school.

This book will keep you on the edge of your seat, starting with Abby, Jax, and Beau trying to get away from the pirates, to treating the sick boy, to dealing with Dr. Windberg, and trying to solve the other mysteries that come up along the way.

Kerrick, Griffin, and Jax, are the beginning of the Mavericks. Former Seals who have reached that milestone in their lives that they are not sure where they want to go next.

Jax has his own assignment, he is to rescue Dr. Dalton from the cruise ship. It sounds pretty simple, except she is missing. No one has seen her and the pirates want her, she is needed to cure a little boy. Now because they cannot find her, the pirates are starting to shoot the passengers. Dr. Dalton has no intention of going down without a fight. Jax finds her and with Beau, the fight is on. This is a delightful and scary adventure. She is being haunted by a past coworker turned stalker.

Ms. Dale Mayer is a premier author whose talents know no bounds. She can write on any subject and have you enthralled I love all her series. This new series looks to be another super hit for Ms. Mayer.

Griffin just finished up a mission with Kerrick and now he is given a mission of his own. One he isn't sure that he wants until he hears what the mission is.

An 11 year-old girl is kidnapped along with her nanny and tutor in Thailand. How can Griffin say no? He also has a partner for this, one that he knows. So Griffin and Jax set out to rescue the girl and her the two women in charge of her care.

This book was full of action and questions as to why Amelia Rose was kidnapped. There was adventure along the way and a few twists and turns until we finally figured out who was responsible for all the chaos.

Amelia Rose is an exceptional girl who knows way to0 much at 11. She is a sweetheart and you can't help but fall in love with her. Sparks fly between Lorelai, her tutor and Griffin. Lorelai hasn't had an easy time of it but Griffin may be just what she needs.

I really enjoyed reading JAX .
Jax having just returned from a mission as backup for Griffin for the Mavericks .
There's no rest for the weary . The call comes he is needed for a rescue mission . Pirates have taken over a cruise ship to capture a Dr . Abigail Eleanor . Abigail is hiding from the highjackers Jax and Abigail run into each other with Beau as back up . The mission is dangerous and difficult . There is more at play then they realize . Soon they head to England and the plot thickens. This is a well written, intense and intriguing . It's action packed and fantastic. I highly recommend taking the time to read.

There couldn’t be a better mission for a man who used to be a Navy SEAL than boarding a ship and stealing the treasure they have on board especially when that treasure is a woman doctor. Jax is headed to Florida but it soon becomes apparent that rescuing her is only part of the mission.

Abby is an accomplished doctor whose in depth knowledge of cutting edge cancer treatment has made her a target for a man who is certain that she can heal his son. The only problem is that there is much more to why they want her there than first appears. She can’t turn her back on a patient who needs her help, but will the cost be her life?

Intrigue, romance and twists as Abby and Jax must battle her past if they are to have a future together.

I was kindly provided this book as an ARC; in exchange for my honest review. This is book 3 of 3 in the new military romance series —The Mavericks.

The Mavericks is a black-ops covert government sanctioned group of special operators. The book revolves around Jax & Abby.

Jax barely made it home from assisting Griffin when he’s contacted to rescue a physician (Abby) who’s on a cruise that’s been hijacked by pirates.

Jax and his partner Beau free the ship and rescue Abby. Then they find out the real reason for hijacking. To save the ships passengers Abby is forced to England to face the monster from her nightmares.

This was good story, more of a ‘who done it’ mystery, but still very interesting.

The first 3 books in this new series of Dale Mayer’s were extraordinary. I loved the characters, and mainly the story plot in the first 2 books. This one was no different, better in some parts.

Yes, of course, as a romance suspense book, there were suspense and romance (duh!), and both parts were interesting. They always were Ms. Mayer’s strength. As a huge bonus, I loved how the story behind the action evolve. The reason of why it happened, who did it, their motives… those gave depth for the book, and the twists and turns made me glued to my Kindle until the end.

I was provided a complimentary copy by the author / publisher through Booksprout, but this in no way influenced my thoughts or opinions.

Good...

I've really enjoyed this new series by the author. The books are filled with suspense and action with some romance thrown in. This was Jax and Abby's book. I really enjoyed both characters as the booked progressed. Jax is a tough as nails military man wanting to do his one mission for the Mavericks and then be done. Abby is a stem cell researcher whose found a way to help defeat cancer along with other methods. She is forced to go on a cruise by family when it's taken over by pirates and Jax is called in to rescue her. Buy the book and read how all this plays out! I just wish, hard, that the author would release all these books in threes so we don't have to wait so long for each additional book. Lol

I am utterly stumped by the high ratings for this... did I read a different book to everyone else? I don't even know where to start...

Abby was just so one dimensional... nothing to get to know, nothing to understand about her, nothing to root for as a character. Jax was a little better... and that is saying something.

The baddies were poorly fleshed out... complete caricatures...

The dialogue didn't flow. I could sum up the whole plot in ten bullet points. Their blossoming romance was poorly contrived.

I think I have stuck with this series so far cos the blurb for Beau's story peaked my interest... and I like to start at the beginning of a series... even if they could be deemed as standalone stories...

This is book 3 in The Mavericks series and it features Jax and Abby. She’s supposed to be on vacation but someone unwelcome from her past has other plans for her. Jax is sent to rescue a famous doctor on a cruise ship because she’s been targeted for abduction. He finds the doctor and she is beautiful! Abby is a no-nonsense, down to earth woman, who in the middle of all the chaos, finds Jax VERY sexy. The flirtation and banter are super cute. I love how they didn’t jump into bed right away but let it build.

This story has tons of action with amazing characters. I love how the epilogue sets you up for the next book.

Jax's story is a bit different from the first two in this new series. There is plenty of action, suspense, and mystery. There is more romance this go around and it's hot! Abby is a heroine in her own right and I appreciated her feistiness. The introduction of Beau was great and made me want to know more about him. By the end of the book we learn more about the Maverick program. There are a lot of bad guys in this one and the action is intense. There are a few parts of the plot that make you stop and think. And feel. I can't wait to see what happens next.

The series just keeps getting better and better. Jax just finished helping Griffin and now he finds himself off leasing his own mission with hardly a rest. Jax and Beau have to rescue Abigail from a cruise ship that was taken over by pirates. She is wanted to heal a young boy and supposedly is the only one who can save him. It ends up being an old stalker and he will do anything to get to her. Jax and Abigal have a connection so he will do everything in his power to keep her safe. Cant wait for the next book!
