A breezy read that details the author's journey from high school student to elite Navy Seal. The author describes how he then left the Navy to enrol on an academic programme that eventually saw him graduate from Harvard Business School. The book is full of life lessons on how to develop skills to succeed; the most memorable axiom is to break tasks up into smaller actions. Hays is a proponent of neither being too confident nor too insecure - the sweet spot of existence is somewhere between these extremes.

The book is not groundbreaking but a pleasant enough reaffirmation of attributes that I already knew. Nick Hays - I thank you for your service.

One of the most inspring and practical in the personal development category. I came across it on a bookclub on my instagram feed and would recommend it to anyone who is seeking to find their grit.

From the very beginning of the book it felt like Nick was talking to me personally! How Nick outlines each chapter is key in my opinion. Many books give information but "Elite" makes it simple to follow the 13 principles and make them stick. I immediately started to discard baggage from my self imposed backpack. Nick also tells a good story which makes it fun to read. Shortly after reading the Half Marathon story I took up running. Nick says you have to do something hard every day. I immediately took action and started doing so. His experience is priceless.
"Elite" is a MUST read. Thank you Nick Hays!
