Marybeth has decided it's time to clean up the bad side of Keyhole Lake, but when she finds a dead body in her new, rundown mansion, she has to wonder if she's bitten off more than she can chew.
Between managing her upcycling business, putting up with an aunt who's taken over the local ghost community, and seeing her wayward sister off to college, Noelle's to-do list is already overflowing. Thankfully for Marybeth, she always has time to help any friend accused of murder!
This is book 10 in the Witches of Keyhole Lake Paranormal Cozy Mysteries series.
Warning: This fun, fast-paced mystery contains witches, talking donkeys, and a whole lot of sass!
I was born and raised in the South and even hung my motorcycle helmet in Colorado for a few months. I've always had a touch of wanderlust and have never feared just packing up and going on new adventures, whether in real life or via the pages of a great book.
When I was a little girl, I didn't want to grow up to be a writer—I wanted to raise unicorns and be a superhero. When those gigs fell through, I chose the next best thing: creating my own magical lands filled with adventure, magic, humor, and romance.
I live in Florida with my two dogs and when I'm not writing or reading, I'm racing motorcycles with my taller, more handsome half, hanging out at the beach, or binge-watching anything magical on Netflix.
I'm eternally grateful for all the people who help make my life what is today - friends, readers, family. No woman is an island.

I am crazy about everything these books have to offer! 🙌 Only one thing has been bothering me is why didn't Skeet & Gabi have a HOA together. I liked their characters and definitely them together but then it switched instantly. Hmph..
Another terrific read in the series. A great plot of murder, family life and friendship. The characters have developed into friends that you are keen to revisit and see how they are getting on whilst the plots (which at times maybe a little thin on the mystery side) give you a chance to catch up and see how they are doing. When a murder occurs at the mansion and a friend is implicated the girls try to get to the bottom of things. Then there is the magic side that has been thrown off kilter by the last confrontation not to mention that her boyfriend seems a bit 'off'. With Shelby and the others leaving for college soon it just all feels a bit much. Will they work out what has happened to their magic? Will they get the killer and possibly wipe out the last bad seeds in town? Will her relationship get back onto an even keel and how will everyone deal with the college departure?
Tegan's stories are always a joy to read. I've followed this series from the beginning and didn't want it to end. Noelle friend Marybelle owner of the Cheshire Cat, has bought the East side of Keyhole Lake. Not the best part of town it's literally across the tracks. The late unlamented former sheriff Hank's partner,Jim, is in the pokey and has lost his property to the county for taxes. Enter Marybelle woi has plans to turn Jim's mznsion into a B&B. Noelle couldn't be happier for her friend. But she & Rae are discovering the magical battle with the evil witches has had side effects. She's erratically reading other's thoughts while Rae magic has been amped up again. Everyone is dealing with Shelby and her friends leaving for college in a few days so a murder at the mansion and rumours of a stash of money there too makes for a frazzled Noelle. But she's determined to clear Marybelle's name and deal with Shelby's leaving. Now if she could just figure out why the jewellery box she gave Rae keeps showing up on it's own. Keyhole Lake is a delightful place to visit. Full of Southern charm and strong women along with the equally strong men who love them, it's a place where family & friends always come first.
Great to be back with the Keyhole Lake gang - but this one was bittersweet as well. Shelby's off to college and Noelle's emotions are all over the place! Add in a murder, wonky magic issues and a bit of a rough patch with Hunter, and life is a bit overwhelming.
When it comes down to it, what I really like about this series is the author's witty writing style - and she is also seriously funny! One of my favorite scenes was the one where Max (the scotch-swilling donkey with an attitude) and Noelle sit down and have a cocktail together and compare how bad their days were - just hilarious! I could totally picture that scene in my mind (along with Eddie Murphy - sorry, he's just synonymous with witty donkeys!) The story is also full of magic and whimsy - I was immediately intrigued by the wandering jewelry box and loved the heartfelt reason behind its wandering. The murder almost seemed to take a backseat, but I didn't mind because I really like the characters no matter what they are getting into! Can't wait to see where the author goes next - looks like Shelby will get her own spin-off too!
I love this series of books, I have torn through them since I came across the first one and now can hardly wait to finish one and start on the next. Who doesn't love a bit of fantasy and yearn to be Samantha from Bewitched or at least I did until I met the Keyhole Lake witches. Now I just want to be able to bake like Noelle and make up coffee blends like Raeanne. And of course have access to the friends and food that they all do. Feel good reading at it's best, Coronavirus be damned 'cos I'm set for life with my new set of friends

Marybeth, a bar owner and friend, bought some property on the wrong side of the tracks. She intends to make things better over there. She was supposed to be meeting her real estate agent, who was always running late, at the Mansion and she didn't show, so Marybeth left. The cleaners went in the next day and found a dead body. Hunter is on the job and the only suspect is Marybeth. That doesn't sit well with anybody so Noelle and friends try to help. In the meantime, Shelby is getting ready to head off to college and something is off with both Noelle's and Rae's magic. Add in a jewelry box that shows up in different places and you have a very cool cozy. I've been reading these books from the beginning and love them all, but this one has that special something that puts it right over the top. I just couldn't put it down.
Shelby and Noelle Flynn are the main characters in this series.of books along with their ghostly Aunt Addy. Keyhole Lake has a large community of living impaired (ghosts) residents and they work with the Women of the town to help the Sheriff solve crimes. These books are really well written and have a strong sense of family and community which I enjoy. Noelle, the main point of view is a strong, independent single woman who has raised her sister alone since the sudden death of her aunt, struggling at times to keep.a.roof over their heads and pay the bills her fortunes change with the death of the Sheriff in the first book in the series and we are her friendships and relationships develop.and grow.over the course of the series. If you like wholesome mysteries with a paranormal element look no further.
This instalment isn't as detailed as some of the previous books in this series, rather it felt like an in betweener as the book is really setting the scene to wave a fond cheerio to 3 of the main side characters, the murder feels very incidental and rushed especially towards the end. I had feared this would be the end but Tegan Maher assures us she is a invested in the town and characters as we are. I had to mark it down a star though as it just felt a wee bit rushed, some silly spelling errors and the storyline was just not as detailed as before. As i said i hope this is because it's setting up the next book in the series, the future remains to be seen...
A fun and entertaining southern witchy cozy mystery series
A southern which he cozy mystery series. A small town in southern Georgia we’re a family of which is live alongside a normal small tourist driven town. Along with a local mundane people is a family of witches and a post-living society of ghosts that live there. Follow along as our characters find murder Mayham in trouble and then solve the mysteries. A cookie collection of southern characters that will make you laugh and hoot and holler a bit. As well as a talking miniature donkey thrown in. Definitely worth reading check it out.
So this book takes on more of a serious note with Shelby leaving for college and Noelle dreading it. Plus we find out there are still some guys out there that were involved with Hank that get what's coming to them. And of course we have a murder to solve!! So it's definitely Classic Tegan, in case you were wondering. You're going to over it, if you're loving her books!!! But my heart does break for Addy and Noelle in this one. Thanks for continuing the series Tegan because it's definitely one of the best witch stories out there and I'm sure there's still plenty to be told on it!!!!
Noelle is getting ready to see changes in her life with her sister, Shelby, leaving for college. Now she had to deal with her powers being messed up. Not just hers but Raeann’s powers. Then there is Hunter, who is acting put out and that is just the start. Add in murder and some leftover cronies of the old sheriff and you have a mystery. I love this series and cannot wait to see what else will happen here. Plus see how Noelle and Raeann’s powers grow. Also see how Shelby makes out in college
Noelle faces more than her usual amount of business to take care of. Her magic is given a boost, a new female ghost shows up, and her younger sister leaves for college.
It does have less comedy than the earlier books, but with all that's going on, it's easy to overlook that little factotum.
As much as this is the (non)-ending of Noelle and Keyhole Lake, it's the beginning of her sister's series.
Tegan is right, there are still some things to come full circle in Keyhole Lake, and not just Noelle and Hunter's relationship...
Enjoyed this one, and for once SPOILER************* no one ends up in a life or death end of book finale. Not that those situations aren't entertaining, but sometimes different is good too. Shelby leaves for college. A new ghost joins the group, and the mystery of the traveling wooden Unicorn jewelry box is solved.
I enjoy this series as well as others by this author and can say for quick entertaining reads you can't go wrong. Low violence, and sexual situations. No memorable language.
Another entry in the annals of Keyhole Lake and the lives of Noelle and her friends and family.
While the is billed as a cozy mystery, and there is indeed a corpse in the story, the mystery is extremely perfunctory. The murderer confesses with no effective sleuthing. Instead, the book has a poignant depiction of the departure or Noelle's sister Shelby (and her friend and boyfriend) to college. And, for Shelby, a journey to her own series.
This was apparently meant to be the last book in the series. But it is not.
All of the paranormal light or character stories are a murder a book. It gets boring. Should try other mystery occurrences, such as kidnappings, lost people, robberies, abandoned houses/people etc. Once you have read one author, the rest are the same just different names and places. Come on all these murders in Keyhole Lake, it would now be just a ghost town, but that might even be interesting.
Murder in the Mansion was a great read just like Books 1 thru 9. Regan Maher has become my favorite author. Her books have it all; humor, mystery and a little romance. There's also a little whimsy involving a talking donkey, etc. I also enjoy the relationships & feel like I know each one personally. I highly recommend these books to readers who are not into highly stressful situations or trashy love scenes.
I really like this storyline. The characters are well developed and likeable. The conversations flow naturally. The plot and subplots progress at a good pace with twists and turns, making it hard to put down. I also like the growth of the characters throughout the series and can't wait for future adventures.
Noelle always has a lot on her plate and this time, it’s new powers, uncertainty in her love life and her kid sister moving to college. She deals with all of that and a murder mystery that implicates a friend too. It was a book full of mystery, drama, and ordinary southern life. You will enjoy it!
As Tegan writes at the end of the book - this isn’t quite as light hearted as some of the other books in the series, but I still enjoyed it thoroughly. I would have been disappointed if this had been the last book in the series and am thrilled that there will be more.
I absolutely love when I get to read a new Keyhole Lake book! Noelle, Hunter, Shelby and everyone else feel like old friends that I'm just getting to catch up with! The mysteries are phenomenal and the characters are very real. This is one series you just don't want to miss out on.
I love this series, it goes into such details about the characters lives that you feel like you know them. This book wasn’t as exciting as the one before, but it was more about family, bonding and growing up. She has a way of making all of her books engrossing even if the end isn’t as climatic as some of the others! Can’t wait for the next!
Thank you Tegan for NOT making this the last book in this series. I found the book intriguing, delightful and it was very different from some of the other books, I absolutely loved your solutions to everything in this book. I had such fun with Raeann's birthday present. I can't wait to see how the next book pans out.
This book has so much going on in it. There's a murder mystery, magic issues, odd gift with a unique story, new character and life changing events. Shelby is great is this book. She's matured so much. I can't wait for the next book to see what's in store for Noelle and Keyhole Lake.
Another great story about Noelle and the witches of this small community.
from Amazon: Between managing her upcycling business, putting up with an aunt who's taken over the local ghost community, and seeing her wayward sister off to college, Noelle's to-do list is already overflowing. Thankfully for Marybeth, she always has time to help any friend accused of murder!
I've read almost all of this series and have enjoyed it thoroughly. I usually try to read books that have a decent series count so I can get in a groove. Although sometimes that can feel monotonous, this series has kept me interested to read what's next the entire time.
When there is complete chaos going on in your life all at once, you tend to second guess everything. The witches' power gets a huge boost, so back to training they go, while there is another murder and let's not forget your sister going off to college. This book had it all.
I was afraid this would be the last book in this series, but apparently there will be at least one more book. I can't wait. I hope there will be a wedding between Noe and Hunter.
It is a well written series of books. Entertaining. The main characters are credible and overcome adversities with aplomb. I enjoy the family dynamics of the living and post living personalities. Where is book 11???
I will admit to shedding a few tears at the end because I had my oldest go off on her own not to long ago and it just brought back memories and I knew how they felt..still though this series is fantastic with great characters and story line
I have read several of the books in this series. It has strong and well developed characters that you will fall in love with and root for throughout the books. The stories flow and are engaging, before you know it your at the end. Great Reading Everyone!
