Twenty years ago Travis Locke had been a young werewolf who accepted that his alpha had forbidden him to be with his mate, Stacia Summerwood. But the old alpha is dead and when Stacia comes to see if old flames can indeed be rekindled, Travis is eager to rediscover his mate in every way possible. But the time spent apart meant lives created, and when Travis' past collides with their future, will he trust his mate to know that she's always been his?
Note: This is a sexy mature romance story set in the Shifters United universe where each story stands alone. This book was originally published as part of an anthology.
Mary commutes between her dream home near the Mark Twain national forest in Missouri and her current residence in Iowa. She lives with a menagerie of animals including an opinionated horse and a cat who was a dog in past life. When not writing spicy tales of erotic romance, she enjoys writing science fiction and fantasy, spending time with her horse, and enjoying the outdoors. Lucky for her, her partner (hero) shares these same passions, and usually both of them can be found in their respective dens writing.
And it’s not far from the truth. Mary began writing in high school after she discovered Silhouette Desire romance novels and realized that she wanted to be the one to write stories that carried readers away from their oh-so-boring lives. She has a deep appreciation and love of the natural, the spirtual, and the metaphysical, which has led to her running Jupiter Gardens and writing for new age and pagan magazines. She is attuned to Reiki II and reads tarot cards.
Right now her household includes six cats, ranging in age from less than six months (Tenzin, former feral kitten) to seventeen years (Tigger, diabetic kitty), her horse, two parrots, a finch flight, a geriatric parakeet flight, and her partner, the hero of her own personal romance story.
Her favorite television shows are Torchwood, Bones, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Dr. Who (new), Battlestar Galactica (new), Babylon 5, Farscape, and Sex in the City. Her favorite movies are Spaceballs, The Cutting Edge, Serenity, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, the LoTR trilogy, and probably a few others she’s forgetting. Her musical tastes range from Enya, Clannad, David Arkenstone, David & Steve Gordon, Scott McDonald, and AfroCelt Sound System to Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, and others.
I love shifter stories and I really enjoyed this captivating and interesting story. The story-line and characters are interesting and I like them. I also enjoyed the suspense, intrigue and twists and turns in this story. I look forward to reading more from this writer.

I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review. As I’ve said before, I always give honest reviews whether people appreciate them or not.
This is what the story blurb says: Twenty years ago Travis Locke had been a young werewolf who accepted that his alpha had forbidden him to be with his mate, Stacia Summerwood. But the old alpha is dead and when Stacia comes to see if old flames can indeed be rekindled, Travis is eager to rediscover his mate in every way possible. But the time spent apart meant lives created, and when Travis' past collides with their future, will he trust his mate to know that she's always been his?
The story begins with Travis returning to his place of employment after a really long day. Standing by the door is Stacia who he hasn’t seen in a couple of decades. He’s a little shocked. Poor Travis never thought he’d be able to have his mate and frankly, he’s kind of awkward about the whole situation. Stacia left the pack due to the deceased alpha and has made a new life for herself. The New alpha was a friend of hers from back when, so she gets permission to be in the territory so she can explore if the relationship with Travis could possibly work or not.
The only problem I sort of had with the story is that while it talks about Carmen, the new alpha, and her Shifters United plan, I felt I was missing something. That wasn’t key to Stacia and Travis’ story though. I liked the fact that both of these characters were well written and while having some uncomfortable moments still tried to work it all out. They had great smexy time during their reconnect and it really was an enjoyable novella. I own almost two dozen books by Ms. Winter which is why I chose this ARC. I enjoyed her work as usual and would like to read more from the Shifters United world.
Wolf shifters Travis and Stacia found each other in their late teens. Their alpha wanted Travis for his daughter. Stacia's family moved for a job opportunity. 25 years after they were forced apart Stacia walks back into Travis's life. The old alpha is dead. His daughter, Carmen is mated to a shark shifter, and Travis is her second in command. A lot of life has been lived apart. Travis is a widowed, runs a boat charter, and has strong ties to his pack, something his wolf needs. Stacia, like her parents is a lone wolf. Never married, put her all into her career. Their wolves clearly want to be together. Their humans have to decide if they are able to leave the past behind and make a future or if to much time has passed. A good shot story, bittersweet and steamy with featuring mature characters . would have liked a little epilogue, of where they are a few or many years later.
Always Her Wolf is a love story that took 25 years to come together. The Alpha forbid their mating. Forced apart just as they were falling in love Stacia left the pack; Travis eventually married and was widowed. Both had followed their own destiny, always with the other in their memories. After the Alpha dies they eventually reconnect. With so many years since they even talked to each other, can they reunite and become the mates they were fated to be?
An entertaining short story for when you want a quick read. I can only give four stars as there are some glaring geographical and spelling errors.

Travis and Stacia had always known they were true mates, but pack politics prevented them from living together. Finally, after 25 years as adults they are allowed to be together. But despite the pull, coming together as mature adults with different life experiences and expectations is not easy. The book explores the problems a little, but it left me a little dissatisfied at the end. I give it a 3.5 star review, because - although I like the story-line - the conflict is not really resolved, just left open to work with at another time. Travis and Stacia were mates but have been forced apart for twenty years and both have changed. Travis and Stacia are mates but twenty years ago they were forced to part by Travis’s alpha. Stacia left with her parent going to college and becoming an engineer working on large projects. Travis owns a boat hire company and married but is now a widower and his old alpha is now and his daughter would be happy for him as she is their friend. Can these two people so changed by time find a meeting point.

Part of the Shifters United novella series a well written story that held my interest throughout. This is a second chance story between Travis Locke and Stacia Summerwood his true mate who have not seen each other in twenty years as Travis was forbidden to see her. Stacia has come back to see if there is something still between them. I enjoyed reading how these two get their happy ending. Loved the book it was great the story was well written and the characters were interesting. The love the two young ones shared but soon ended was that the alpha wanted Travis to marry his daughter and instead of doing that Travis married Lydia. Travis and Stacia can they finally have their happily ever after as fated mate. Thank you for allowing me to review this book it was great.

These mates have been separated too long and it is about time that they can finally be together. Although I am not happy with Travis choosing his alpha over his mate, twenty years is a long time to live without your fated one. A good read with a nice happy ending.

20 years ago Travis was forbidden by his alpha to be with his mate because the alpha wanted him to mate with his daughter Carmen he tried to get on with his life and he ended up marrying a woman that wasn’t his mate but she had died, now Stacia is back to see if the can rekindle what they had. This is a great read and I enjoyed this story and I recommend this book.
Always Her Wolf by Mary Winter is an awesome story that I am so glad I have read it. I fell in love with story cause it has to deal with wolf shifters. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about shifters, erotic, and paranormal romances in their stories.

This was a fast read. It was short but written well. The H and H were both good characters. You wanted to see them finally get their HEA after being forced apart. I do wish the story had been longer. I received this as an ARC in return for my honest review. I would recommend this book.
I really loved this second chance at love story. It touched my heart and my emotions; was just so sweet and enduring. It really made me wish that it was a longer read.

They were separate by an as alpha who ruled and wanted Jim to marry his daughter. 25 years the mates meet again. All does go easy. Great storyline and good read.Great thanks
Short story of a second chance romance between Travis and Stasia. After being kept apart for years is there enough chemistry and heart to keep these to together or is the past to much to overcome?
Travis and Stacia reconnect after 24 years apart knowing that they were mates. They were denied getting together by their alpha. It's not a bad novella, just a little short on substance.
